Tool window quick access doesn't work in IntelliJ IDEA Sometimes

I'am Using IntelliJ IDEA 2018.3.5 (Ultimate Edition)
I've been going through all the documents from JetBrains, but I couldn't find how to show my tool windows. Sometimes IDEA behaves unexpectedly by not giving me a way to show my tool windows. I've tried to access them using my usual keyboard shortcuts, Find action feature or by clicking this icon
But unfortunately, IDEA does not give me any response.
By the way, it works If I completely shutdown IDEA, but I can't do that when I am in the middle of a keynote since it takes time to reboot.
How can I fix the issue?

Garbled Intellij window in Windows 10

My Intellij IDEA window gets garbled from time to time (see attached) I'm running the program 64-bit on a new Windows 10 laptop. The Intellij IDEA is version 2016.1.3 and build #IU-145.1617.
Can someone point me towards a fix? Many thanks
It may be that some exception is thrown internally in IntelliJ IDEA or a plugin. You can check the log to see if that is the case. Use the menu item Help > Show Log in Explorer to locate it.

How to install Visual Paradigm on Netbeans?

I'm following the instructions here but it seems not to work. I'll contact the developer, but wonder if someone has been able to make it work somehow.
The installation process is completed, but Netbeans doesn't see the plug-in. I assume it is deployed incorrectly.
Not sure how it got fixed but suddenly upon starting the IDE an update for the plugin showed up and it started working afterwards.

XCode hangs every time when i write few lines of code in playground

I have just started working with Swish after buying my new imac and i am working on play ground. for last 2 days i am banging my head with wall but i could not fix this problem.
When ever i am writing few lines of code, Xcode hangs and mouse turns into small colored circle when you hoverover on the xcode window. I have to quit by force every time when xcode hangs.
I tried all possible option which i could find on stackoverflow;
I draged xcode from application to trash bin, cleaned trash bin, restarted the imac, downloaded xcode from app store installed it.
when i opened xcode after installation, it opened all my files automatically and problem was still there.
Then i followed this solution How to uninstall Xcode 5.0.2 from MAC 10.9 and removed all xcode related files by using appCleaner. It cleaned all files and folder. I restarted my system and installed xcode again :( and problem is still there.
I tried to uninstall xcode with sudo /Developer/Library/uninstall-devtools --mode=all but it does not work, terminal says
sudo: /Developer/Library/uninstall-devtools: command not found
I could see that there is something wrong with this run time compiler.
and yes i downloaded and installed the xcode 6.4 beta version and problem still there.
Can any one turn my face from :( -> :)
Here is a solution which #user3344236 provids. If someone has same problem use this trick. Create an empty project and then add playgrounds file in it. It would not crash or Xcode would not hang.
Playground is in early stages and there is something fishy with "standalone" playground, If you create swift file with File->New->PlayGround, there is high chances that Xcode will hang and you can have same problem what i had for 2 days.
A little late, but I have run into similar problems with the latest XCode (7.2) on Yoesmite. This is espcially annoying when you are, for example, writing up a long tutorial in the editor and risk losing content because of a Force Quit situation.
The simplest workaround I have found, especially when I am initially entering all the text and code (and hence really don't want it continuously trying to execute) is to insert the following at the top of each new file - removing it when I am ready to autorun the code.
don't execute
It can be any text, as long as it doesn't parse. The playground environment won't try to run while there is a syntax error in the file. But you still get all the context-sensitive help and auto-completion magic to aid in your writing.

Intellij IDEA 13 - Can't open Project Structure dialog anymore

as already described in title, i'm not able to open the project structure dialog window in intellij anymore.
neither the shortcut (Ctrl+alt+shift+s) nor the menu element under File -> Project Structure nor the little button in the upper right corner do work.
Clarification: Menu element :
This "bug" occured suddenly as I wrote a web (vaadin/maven) project and tried to set up glassfish, where i often had to switch to the project structure dialog.
Since the first occurence i wasn't able to fix it by restarting intellij or switching projects.
This also happened on my laptop running the same intellij and windows version (Ultimate 13.0.1 Build: 133.331 on Windows 7 x64)
i appreciate any help!
This also happened to me, but removing new plugins etc didn't help.
Nor did nuking my project and rebuilding it from scratch.
In the end I deleted all caches, restarted Intellij and at last I could access the project settings again! By the way, I'm using Intellij 11.1 - mainly because I can't get 13 to start up, but that's another story
Your log shows that it is a bug in IntelliJ IDEA - they are trying to create file passing null pathname. Try to delete project files and reopen project from scratch (maybe you've lost some file) - if it won't help then you should create an issue here: http://youtrack.jetbrains.com/ - You can even copy-paste text from your question and attach stacktrace
I had the same issue...upon further inspection in the log dump...I noticed the following:
ERROR - llij.ide.plugins.PluginManager - com.intellij.openapi.fileChooser.FileChooserDescriptor.setTitle(Ljava/lang/String;)V
java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: com.intellij.openapi.fileChooser.FileChooserDescriptor.setTitle(Ljava/lang/String;)V

Disabled the latest Python Plugin and restarted and everything is working normal again.
I remembered I had recently update my python plugin and am not using it presently so I was able to disable it without issue.
Hope this helps someone else.
This also happened to me. The comment above helped. I had just added some plugins. Disabled them and it started working again. Not sure exactly which one because I disabled all 4 -- Bean Validation Support, Bitbucket, Jelastic Cloud Platform Integration, and Quick Notes.
For me it has been resolved by switching off FindBugs plugin and restart IDEA. So Project Structure is available for me now.
One of the plugins might be causing it. To disable a plugin, go here:
You'll know for sure if a plugin is bad if you see this Exclamation picture:
Clicking on it will bring up a pop-up. To disable the plugin, click on this:
For me it got resolved just by restarting the intelliJ IDEA. I'm using intelliJ IDEA Ultimate 2018.1 edition.
