In the most recent version of intellij (2017.1.5) it appears that I can't add the drools plugin anymore to work with drl files. I have tried this solution that worked in the old version. But currently I can't seem to find the plugins section in Intellij in order to add the JBoss Drools support. I do get a popup from Intellij however notifying me that the 'Ultimate' edition of Intellij does offer support for Drools whenever I create a *.drl file; see creenshot:
Currently I don't know if this means that JBoss is now more commercial and tries to sell more of the Ultimate edition of their software or that I'm not looking in the right place. Hope someone can help.

I'm trying to add a c/c++ plugin to IntelliJ IDEA, so I went to plugins and searched for it but couldn't find it.
Did they remove it and replace it with their new IDE cLion? Is it no longer supported or what?
Looks like the version of your IntelliJ IDEA is newer than what the C/C++ plugin supports. If you look at the plugin page you can see that builds from 139.1 until 142 are compatible. And if you look here you can see that build 141 is IntelliJ 14.1 and IntelliJ IDEA 15 is numbered 143. So my guess is you are using IntelliJ IDEA 15 or 16 EAP and therefore the plugin is not shown when you search for it.
Simply download the cpp plugin of the old 14 version located here:
https://plugins.jetbrains.com/plugin/1373-c-c-
Then edit the file CppTools/META-INF/plugin.xml and replace the "until-build" value in line 5 to something like until-build="170.0"
And this works perfectly :)
One should really note that the "C/C++" plugin available in the IntelliJ Plugin Repository is actually not developed by Jetbrains, but by a third party called AdvancedTools, and has long not been updated. I'm not sure if that is related to the release of CLion, e.g. IntelliJ bought out the plugin to serve as the foundation of CLion or whatnot.
As listed in the CLion FAQ page, there is currently no official standalone plugin for C/C++ editing available for IntelliJ IDEA. Just as with some other products such as Jetbrains AppCode, Jetbrains are currently keeping CLion as an exclusively paid product, without a free community edition, as indicated in this forum post.
The post also confirmed that a plugin for IntelliJ IDEA might be coming in the future, but is currently (Jan 2018) not a priority for JetBrains.
So yeah for now the only way to get decent C/C++ support within the IntelliJ ecosystem is to use/buy JetBrains CLion.
Download latest version of c/c++ extension from link: https://plugins.jetbrains.com/plugin/1373-c-c-
then open that CppTools.zip inside META-INF folder open file plugin.xml modify line five until-build="" from your own intellij idea build. Go to Help --> About in Your Intellij idea.

Now Go to File --> Settings --> Plugins --> Install plugins from Disk, browse ypur edited/ modified CppTools.zip.
I faced this problem before and i figure out that the software i install it was old and not update, so try to see the plugin version and see is that plugin version compatible with your intellij-idea, if not check update for the intelli-idea ,the developers fix many problems in every update ,then download it.

I am running IntelliJ 15 Ultimate and trying to enable the Tomcat plugin (which for some reason was disabled). However, IntelliJ does not seem to let me re-enable it.
What I have tried is
Re-install IntelliJ 15, and I chose to replace the old version, but the problems with the plugin seem to be persistent
Deleting /Applications/IntelliJ IDEA 15.app/Contents/plugins/Tomcat between the re-installs to ensure it was not being re-used, but with no avail
Verifying that I have a licensed/paid version of IntelliJ 15 Ultimate edition
At this point I'm not sure what to do, as a re-install clearly did not work. Are there any directories or files I could manually change/remove?
I am using OS X version 10.11.2 is that matters.
You need to enable the "Java EE: EJB, JPA, Servlets" plugin as well. The message is displayed because that plugin is not enabled, and the Tomcat plugin depends on it.
The only solution I could come up with was to entirely wipe IntelliJ and any config files it created as described in this answer.
Upon installing IntelliJ once again, the Tomcat plugin was enabled and was able to create a run configuration for that! Maybe not a fix per se, but it works as expected again.

I wonder if I can get this thing to work on IntelliJ IDEA (Community Edition). The problem is there is no such plugin available in the plugins repo. How to perform the setup?
The community edition only supports a limited number of plugins. The class diagram plugin is only supported in the Ultimate edition if I remember correctly.
You can always try a 30-day free trial of IntelliJ Ultimate (or RubyMine).
Is it possible to setup go language pluing for Intellij IDEA 14.0.3 version?
I tried to download the binary plugin (jar) from https://plugins.jetbrains.com/plugin/5047?pr=idea but the version 0.9.15.3 listed here is old and does not recognize GOROOT and GOPATH.
I tried to build the latest plugin using sources from https://github.com/go-lang-plugin-org/go-lang-idea-plugin using Intellij but failed to setup the SDK.
Is there a latest binary version of the go lang plugin available?
Update to IDEA 14.1+ or use the IntelliJ Community.

You can use the free version of IntelliJ Community with the latest version of the plugin and everything should work fine. Also, Android Studio for example is compatible with the plugin as well.
Unfortunately the plugin has some internal dependencies which makes it hard to port back and maintain for multiple IDEA versions. Hope this helps

I wanted to play a little bit with the dart language and since recently I'm trying to switch from eclipse to IntelliJ IDEA I wanted to use that IDE. Unfortunately I can't figure out how I can create new dart project.
I've installed the dart plugin and installation looks fine - I have the plugin directory on my hard drive, dart's formatting options in settings etc. But I don't have any dart related option in the new project dialog (only java, maven, gradle, empty project etc.).
All resources I found told about using the new project dialog, or using WebStorm (like https://confluence.jetbrains.com/display/WI/Getting+started+with+Dart ).
Is it possible at all? Am I missing something?
I'm using IntelliJ IDEA 13.1.5 community edition.

I recommend using Stagehand (http://stagehand.pub/). It's a great new command-line tool that creates well-formed Dart project folders, complete with pubspec.yaml and even build.dart for Polymer projects. The tool can create console apps, web apps, Polymer apps, and AngularDart apps.
