In Jira Wiki format only part of word - formatting

When i write in Jira wiki page:
player*Id*
I want only part of word to be formatted (bold): "Id". But jira writes it literaly:
player*Id*
I want it to write:
playerId
If i make whole playerId bold, it works though. How to make only part of word bold in jira wiki?

I think it's not possible, as parser requires spaces next to asterisks to display it correctly.
What you can do is to use color instead:
Player{color:red}Id{color}
Which would be displayed like this:

Problem with line breaks in PDF document generated by BIRT

I have some cell texts in a BIRT report which do not flow as nicely as I hoped.
For example,
The text is Long value resultwithaverylongname whichcannotbreak and I had hoped that it would be displayed like this:
Long value
resultwithaverylongname
whichcannotbreak
The render options are as follows:
renderOptions.setOutputFormat(IPDFRenderOption.OUTPUT_FORMAT_PDF);
renderOptions.setOption(IPDFRenderOption.PAGE_OVERFLOW, IPDFRenderOption.OUTPUT_TO_MULTIPLE_PAGES);
renderOptions.setOption(IPDFRenderOption.PDF_TEXT_WRAPPING, true);
renderOptions.setOption(IPDFRenderOption.PDF_WORDBREAK, true);
It seems to me that my desired output is physically possible but I don't know why BIRT does not break on a whitespace and breaks in the middle of the word.
I am using BIRT 4.16 (from Sourceforge). The texts contain normal whitespace (no non-breakable spaces) and are displayed via a data object.
3.Sep.21
I now have an example project which I am trying to commit to Github. In the meantime here is a screenshot showing breaks which look good and others which are not...
The git repo is here: https://github.com/pramsden/test.wordbreak
If the text "resultwithaverylongname" physically fits, then you are right:
BIRT should not break it in the middle of the word.
Your renderOptions seem right (depending of what BIRT version you are using).
At first glance this looks like a bug.
But: In German language, we often have quite long words, and I've created a lot of (complex) PDF reports with BIRT, but I never saw this issue.
So I guess it is a tiny silly detail which causes this.
Just to double-check:
Are the spaces between "Long", "value", "result..." normal spaces (0x20)? or non-breaking spaces?
Which BIRT release are you using?
Are you using a data item or a dynamic text item and if so, is it HTML or plain text?
Can you create a reproducible simple test case and post the rptdesign file somewhere?
well i don use BIRT , but try to use (\n),
in my case I use PDFFlow library to generate pdf docs, and to make a line-break i just use \n
this is a simple example code to create a pdf file and use line break
var DocumentBuilder.New()
.AddSection()
.AddParagraphToSection("Hello world! \n go to the next line")
.ToDocument()
.Build("Result.PDF");
try it and tell me if it works

How do I access the "See Also" Field in the Wiktionary API?

Many of the Wiktionary pages for Chinese Characters (Hanzi) include links at the top of the page to other similar-looking characters. I'd like to use the Wiktionary API to send a single character in the query and receive a list of similar characters as the response. Unfortunately, I can't seem to find any query that includes the "See Also" field. Is this kind of query possible?
The “see also” field is just a line of wiki code in the page source, and there is no way for the API to know that it's different from any other piece of text on the page.
If you are happy with using only the English version of Wiktionary, you can fetch the wikicode: index.php?title=太&action=raw, and then parse the result for the template also. In this case, the line you are looking for is {{also|大|犬}}.
To check if the template is used on the page at all, query the API for titles=太&prop=templates&tltemplates=Template:also
Similar templates are avilable in more language editions of Wiktionary, in case you want to use other sources than the English one. The current list is:
br:Patrom:gwelet
ca:Plantilla:vegeu
cs:Šablona:Viz
de:Vorlage:Siehe auch
el:Πρότυπο:δείτε
es:Plantilla:desambiguación
eu:Txantiloi:Esanahi desberdina
fi:Malline:katso
fr:Modèle:voir
gl:Modelo:homo
id:Templat:lihat
is:Snið:sjá einnig
it:Template:Vedi
ja:テンプレート:see
no:Mal:se også
oc:Modèl:veire
pl:Szablon:podobne
pt:Predefinição:ver também
ru:Шаблон:Cf
sk:Šablóna:See
sv:Mall:se även
It has been suggested that the WikiData project be expanded to cover Wiktionary. If and when that happens, you might be able to query theWikiData API for that kind of stuff!

Lotus Domino database FTSearch method and brackets

I need to search with FTSearch something like this - MS004790(419411/10). But it thorws NotesException: Notes error: Query is not understandable (MS004790(419411/10))
So maybe there is some trick to search strings like that or maybe I need to parse it somehow?
Tnx for help!
TL;DR: Wrap your search in quotes.
Full Text search has two modes. Web Search and Notes Search. In your notes preferences you can set this.
Web search is just like a text search. Notes search attempts to parse the search term.
However the client can fall back to Notes search terms if it sees the first characters are capitals (or capital reserved keywords like "FIELD"). So to prevent it from parsing you need to wrap it in quotes.
For example
(LotusScript)
searchString = |"MS004790(419411/10)"|
(Java)
searchString = "\"MS004790(419411/10)\""
If it is still failing after that, manually try the search in the FT search bar. Once you have that working the code should work the same way.
If it is still failing at that point it may be related to the UNK table. If so see the following:
Lotus Domino: After changing TYPE of a field, Full Text Search won't work for this field

CompletionProcessor Eclipse Plugin - Replace actual value in the editor

I have a simple question, but I couldn't solve it by myself.
I made a Eclipse Plugin, It's just an editor which has a CompletionProcessor (intelisense assitant). This assistant retrieve a set of phrases take into account a dictionary.
The thing is if i write "word example" in the editor and the assistant proposes "Word as an Example" I would like to replace my actual value for the value that get from my assistant.
To summarize actually when I pick that option , in my editor I get something like the following:
"word example Word as an Example"
And I would like to get just:
"Word as an Example"
Any idea?
The classes I have been using are the following:
org.eclipse.jface.text.contentassist.CompletionProposal;
org.eclipse.jface.text.contentassist.ICompletionProposal;
org.eclipse.jface.text.contentassist.IContentAssistProcessor;
org.eclipse.jface.text.contentassist.IContextInformation;
org.eclipse.jface.text.contentassist.IContextInformationValidator;
I'm gonna answer my own question :).
To solve this you have to use the following constructor of Completion Proposal:
http://help.eclipse.org/helios/topic/org.eclipse.platform.doc.isv/reference/api/org/eclipse/jface/text/contentassist/CompletionProposal.html#CompletionProposal(java.lang.String,%20int,%20int,%20int,%20org.eclipse.swt.graphics.Image,%20java.lang.String,%20org.eclipse.jface.text.contentassist.IContextInformation,%20java.lang.String)
As you can see two of its arguments are replacementOffset and replacementLength, these are the index to start replacement and the length itself.

help to get rid of HTML special chars in database

I've migrated my site from interspire CMS to Joomla! CMS.
I've managed to migrate all the database of articles, but some of them have a weird issue - when I access the page from joomla, the title contains HTML entities like ’.
As you can guess from the CMS's I use, I rely on PHP as my server side, and MySql for my database.
I tried to go over the titles of the articles in the database with htmlspecialchars_decode AND html_entity_decode in order to get rid of those, but it had no effect.
if I just grab an example from the DB and echo it, it will look OK:
What’s Your Pleasure, Lasagna Or Pizza Manchester Style?
if I go to the article page in joomla it will look like this:
What’s Your Pleasure, Lasagna Or Pizza Manchester Style?
When I go to PhpMyAdmin to see directly what is in the database, this is the contents of the title:
What’s Your Pleasure, Lasagna Or Pizza Manchester Style?
I even tried to remove the symbol with:
str_replace("’","",$title);
or replace it like this
str_replace('’',"'",$title);
but nothing.
When I tried to encode it again instead of decoding it (just to see if i'm on the right DB) it worked and encoded it again...
Please, I would be glad to have any new ideas...
Thanks,
Yanipan
Try setting encoding to cp1252. This worked out for me:
$decoded = html_entity_decode($your_string, ENT_QUOTES, 'cp1252');
Probably your best bet is to do search and replace within the database itself vs trying to do it with php. Search and replace in mysql is done like this:
update TABLE_NAME set FIELD_NAME = replace(FIELD_NAME, ‘find this string’, ‘replace found string with this string’);
So yours should look something like:
update ARTICLES set TITLE = replace(TITLE, '’', '\'');
Give that a shot.
Need more info
What is the character encoding on your database? That & or ;, may be something other than the typical ASCII.
It's possible that PHP/Joomla is double-encoding your string. Look at the browser's page source and find the text in the produced HTML. Instead of What’s, it might just be one of the following:
What&rsquo&59;s
What&38;rsquo&59;s
What’s
