Mobilefirst worklightconsole and liberty and virtual host - ibm-mobilefirst

For security reason I want to run mobileapps and worklightconsole on separate IP ports. But when I add virtual hosts and IP ports in the liberty configuration worklightconsole listen on all the ports.
Is it possible to define a virtual host configuration on the console war ? can I add ibm-web-bnd.xml to the .WAR or is another way to fix this problem ?
enviroment:
mobilefirst 7.1
was liberty 8.5.5.7

IBM MobileFirst Platform Foundation does not support virtual host in Liberty. This is due to the provided console.war which requires changes in its web.xml, and the changes are not compatible with WAS and Tomcat. Your manual changes done to this will be lost the next time an iFix is installed.
Additionally, per this user documentation topic:
https://www-01.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSEQTP_8.5.5/com.ibm.websphere.wlp.doc/ae/cwlp_virtual_hosts.html
You need to have a ibm-web-bnd.xml in the .war file and definif the virtual hosts.
Also in tWAS the mapping of the virtual host is done outside the war file.
In short, it is not supported...

Web access to Gluu v4.0 server, installed on Ubuntu 20 machine

I have installed Gluu server version 4.0 on an Ubuntu ver.20 powered machine. After running setup script I am able to login to server from command line and according to Gluu docs I should be able to access UI from web browser using this pattern https://<hostname-where-gluu-server-installed>.
But this doesn't work. I have enabled port 443. Both browser and server are on the same machine. Thanks in advance for your answers!
Gluu must be deployed on a server or VM with a static IP Address. The static IP address should resolve to a computer hostname which can be achieved by adding an entry to the DNS server or in /etc/hosts.

weblogic AS: application deployed on a cluster with two managed servers

I'm on Weblogic AS 10.3.5, I have two managed servers pointed to a cluster, so I have two url, one for the first managed server, the other one for the second.
I will deploy my application on the cluster, so will I reach it on both the url? will the application deployed and running on both the servers?
How does it work? Can you give me some references, please?
Is it clear?
Thanks a lot!
First, you shouldn't be using WebLogic 10.3.5 anymore since it has reached the last stage of support called Sustained Support. Consider to upgrade at least to WebLogic 10.3.6.
Related to your question, I believe you are talking about a Web Application and how to access it. First you need to read about Load Balancing in a Cluster. For the web part (JSP and Servlets) basically you have to options: setup a Web Server (like Apache HTTP) to make use of the WebLogic Plug-in, that will then be connected to the WebLogic cluster. The other easier option is to simply use an LBR (load balance router hardware).
These are the "software" solutions you have for Load Balancing your web application in a clustered WebLogic:
WebLogic Server supports the following Web servers and associated
proxy plug-ins:
WebLogic Server with the HttpClusterServlet
Netscape Enterprise Server with the Netscape (proxy) plug-in
Apache with the Apache Server (proxy) plug-in
Microsoft Internet Information Server with the Microsoft-IIS (proxy) plug-in
You can read more about this options at the Configure Proxy Plug-ins documentation page for WebLogic 10.3.6.

Failed to deploy the application to Worklight server

I installed worklight 6.1.0.1 on eclipse kepler from marketplace. I am getting the following error when I tried to build the application.
" Failed to deploy the application to Worklight server: please verify that the Worklight server is started and reachable.Connection to - 192.168.112.1:10080 failed. (Permission denied: connect)."
We send SOAP requests from the adapter. The backend services are only accessible if connected to VPN. I have connected to VPN and deployed the application. few JS files like dojo.js are pointing to local IP. For building the project to VPN IP , I right clicked the project and Run As>Build Settings and deploy targets. In the window that is popped up, I gave the VPN IP and cliked Ok. Again I right clicked project Run As>build all and deploy all. But still its being pointing to local IP 192.168.112.1:10080 and getting the error mentioned above when I try to deploy the application.
Even if I open project on worklight project console, its redirecting to local IP.
I think some ideas are mixed here.
Your application will be running in a local Worklight test server, that as part of Worklight Studio is placed in your development environment (localhost). If your adapters must use the VPN to reach the backend services, then you must only make sure the your-adapter.xml referes to the correct HTTP host (i.e. an IP address available through the VPN).
You should not need to change your local server address, i.e. if you double-click the Worklight Development Server in Servers view, the Host name field should be "localhost" (without quotes, that's the default value), or preferrable a local IP, may be 192.168.112.1 (or whatever local IP you have). If after trying all this, that still don't work, I'd change that to your VPN IP, but I believe that's not necessary.
One thing you may not be aware of is that when doing a build and deploy to Worklight Development Server, and you have the host name set to "localhost" the Worklight Studio will "guess" your IP, so that's probably the problem you are facing.
In a nutshell, what I'd do is:
1. Make sure your server host name is still localhost (or a fixed local IP address)
2. Make sure your adapter.xml file(s) refer to a correct IP or fully qualified host name in the VPN, so you can reach them.
3. Run As -> Build All and Deploy
4. Test
What I'm saying here is if you want your app built using the VPN IP, then you don't need to do it through Build Settings and Deploy Target, but just going to Servers View, double-click on Worklight Development Server and then set the Host name to the IP you want. The Build All and Deploy will do the rest for you.

Access the glassfish server web application remotely

I am able to access an application on glassfish server locally via http://localhost:8080/domain1 or http://<machine-ip>:8080/domain1. However, I am unable to access it from another remote machine.
When I put http://<machine-ip>:8080/domain1 in a browser, connection timed out.
Firewall is off on both machines and I have also add machine-ip to /etc/hosts file. I can ping glassfish server machine I am using redhat enterprise 6.3 linux on which glassfish is installed.
Please tell how to access it via IP. DO we need to change any configuration file?
Any help would be really appreciated.
Thanks
-Sam
This might be a problem because of Selinux policy being in enforcing mode.
Try changing it to passive or disabled mode and then try accessing your server.

Cannot Start Weblogic Managed Server,

We are running Weblogic 7sp6. We have a working single node cluster with an Admin and two Managed servers. We are re-creating a 2nd standalone cluster on a 2nd server. We reinstalled Weblogic and have copied over all the configuration files to make thing. Its the same on both clusters. We changed all the references to IP and hostnames. We have used this method before without problems.
In the current case I can startup the Admin which listens on port 7001,7002. But when I try and startup either of the Managed servers it tells me that myserver1/2 is already up. (Managed Servers). I confirmed that myserver is configured to use port 7012,7013 and I cannot find any port conflicts especially because these exact ports worked on the first cluster. Any ideas of what else to look at? I have logged in the admin console and can see the ports are all unique. Thanks
The current version of WebLogic is 10.3. I'd strongly urge you to upgrade your WebLogic as soon as possible, especially if you're still using the version of JDK that it was certified for. If you're running JDK 1.4, you're crazy.
