Add Attribute to ActiveReccord after query - sql

This is what i trying to do: I have a User model with attributes :name, :lastame and :email. After a method like the following:
providers = User.find_by_sql [ query ]
I'd like all the users in providers to include a new attribute :location.
Is that possible?

In this case, the easiest way will be to simply add the value you want as a column alias in your SELECT clause.
providers = User.find_by_sql "SELECT *, 'The Moon' AS location FROM users"
puts providers.first.location
# => "The Moon"

How to get user from User field LookupId

I have a list in sharepoint online.
And in this list, i have a person field.
When i call the API endpoint to get all the items in the list, i get an LookupId value for the person field.
I tried to get the user by using the value of the lookupid, but it don't work because the id is not recognized.
The lookupid is a int (eg: 21) instead of a guid.
Is there something missing in the configuration of the person field or in my calls to Microsoft Graph API ?
When a user signs into a SharePoint site collection for the first time, a ListItem is created in a hidden User Information List. The LookupId in a PersonOrGroup field refers to the ListItem in this list. The URL for the User Information List for SharePoint Online should be:
https://{yourTenant}.sharepoint.com/{yourSiteCollection}/_catalogs/users/detail.aspx
Since the User Information List is a generic SharePoint list, you can query the list via Graph. First, get the list id for the User Information List. An easy way to get the list id is to view the source for the User Information Site via Chrome and search for 'listId'. You should find a result like this:
"listId":"{yourListIdIsHere}"
Copy the id. By using the copied id, the id of your root site and the LookupId, you can get the ListItem in the User Information List:
https://graph.microsoft.com/v1.0/sites/{siteId}/lists/{pasteCopiedListId}/items/{lookUpId}?$expand=Fields
The ListItem contains information about the user, such as the email, which can be used to identify the Azure user:
https://graph.microsoft.com/v1.0/users/{eMail}
Question: How could i get the hidden User Information List from Microsoft Graph?
If you do not want to use the 'trick' with Google Chrome to get the id, there is another way to get the site. Typically, if you want to get the id for any site, you would call:
https://graph.microsoft.com/v1.0/sites/{siteId}/lists
However, you will not find the id of the User Information List, even if you include hidden sites. I do not know why. An additional problem seems to be, that you cannot filter lists by their name:
https://graph.microsoft.com/v1.0/sites/{siteId}/lists?$filter=name eq 'users'
The query returns an error, that the provided filter statement is not supported. The only way to get the list without knowing the id seems to by using the property displayName of the list. However, the displayName is based on your localization. So, since I am from Germany, I can get the site by using the query:
https://graph.microsoft.com/v1.0/sites/{siteId}/lists?$filter=displayName eq 'Benutzerinformationsliste'
You will need to replace Benutzerinformationsliste with your localized name. For EN replace it with 'User Information List'.
This returns the expected result:
{
"#odata.context": "https://graph.microsoft.com/v1.0/$metadata#sites('xxx')/lists(id,name,displayName)",
"value": [
{
"#odata.etag": "\"xxx\"",
"id": "xxx",
"name": "users",
"displayName": "Benutzerinformationsliste"
}
]
}
As you can see, the name of the list is 'users', so why the first filter statement does not work is a little mystery to me. Maybe someone here knows and can help out.
Some of the queries above don't work at the moment.
What I finally found as a good solution - after trying many many queries - is that you can do this by following the few steps below:
1- Get the GUID of the user information list.
Using the title of the list "User Information List" or the name "users" in the parameter "$filter" does not work.
Don't forget 'system' among the properties you select if you want to retrieve the hidden system-lists.
GET https://graph.microsoft.com/v1.0/sites('{site_id}')/lists?select=id,name,system
2- Filter the previous result in order to pick up the ID of the targeted list named 'users'.
By the way, applying this restriction "$filter=name eq 'users'" does not work.
You will get an exception. So you must do the filtering part by writing a few lines of code.
3- Once you've got the list identifier, then select all the items you want. And voilĂ ! The word 'Fields' must be in pascal case (uppercase the first letter ).
GET https://graph.microsoft.com/v1.0/sites('{site_id}')/lists('users_list_id')/items?$select=Fields&$expand=Fields
As #QuestionsPS1991 mentioned, the people field in fact refers to the hidden user list. With the lookupid, we can get the user via below methods:
Get user by id
Get user property by expanding lookup field
//////////// updated
By default, MS Graph does not return this user list. You may hard code the list id or follow ##QuestionsPS1991 suggestion. Below is my test:

Get value from customer_entity_varchar - Magento

I created a customer attribute in backend magento, but I want to show this attribute to the user so that he can alter its value in the frontend. My input field is being displayed in the frontend, but the value is not there. I am not able to get this value. I found that the value that I need to display is in the apscustomer_entity_varchar table and the column is called 'value'. How can I get that value from that table? I was trying this:
$collection = Mage::getModel('eav/entity_attribute')->getCollection();
foreach ($collection as $data) {
return $data;
}
but it was not working, so I used SQL code and it worked. However I know that's not a nice way to do that in Magento. What I did was something like:
$connection = Mage::getSingleton('core/resource')->getConnection('core_read');
$sql = "SELECT * FROM `apscustomer_entity_varchar ` WHERE `entity_id`='$id'";
$rows = $connection->fetchAll($sql);
How can I get the value column from my apscustomer_entity_varchar table in the magento way, using the getModel?
You need to retrieve the customer of the session and then you can get the attribute you want :
Mage::getSingleton('customer/session')->getData('attributeName');
Mage::getSingleton('customer/session')->getAttributeName(); //Magic getter
Where attributeName is the name of the attribute you want to get the value.
I found out how to do that :D
It's actually very simple. Even if this is a custom customer attribute (created in Magento admin panel), I need to get the attribute not using the 'eav/entity_attribute' model, but using the 'customer/customer' model. So I just need to do that:
$customer_data = Mage::getModel('customer/customer')->load($customer_id)->getData();
echo $customer_data['attributeThatYouWant'];
If you are not sure what is the name of your attribute you can look at Magento Admin Panel under Customer/Manage-Attributes, or you can use that after getting the model:
var_dump($customer_data);
Now you are able to get the name of all customer attributes.

How to pass an external id to a domain filter

I have a Many2One field accepting a product in my model, but I want to limit this field to a specific product template, using the said template external id (The XML id).
I've try this without success:
#This piece of code doesn't work
the_product = fields.Many2one('product.product',
domain = [('product_tmpl_id','=', "ref('the_package.the_external_id')")])
How can I do this?
The solution to this problem is to use a function that returns the filters parameters. That way, we have access to the self variable in the body of the function, and therefore, we can use it to search specific external ids.
#api.model
def _get_domain(self):
# We have access to self.env in this context.
ids = self.env.ref('the_package.the_external_id').ids
return [('product_tmpl_id','=', ids)]
the_field = fields.Many2one('product.product',
required=False,
domain = _get_picking_product_domain)
The above solution does does not work.
Error :
ProgrammingError: can't adapt type 'model_name'
But try this:
You don't have to insert domain in your field :
#api.onchange('field_a')
def fiel_change(self):
dom['field_a'] = [(*)] #* type your domain
return {'domain':dom}

can't get relation's name via listdata

I am not sure why I can't get the columns from my other tables via my relations. I was thinking is it because of my scope? After i had a default scope in my models, everything seems to be out of place, even if i use resetscope() at some places. Some sections I can't get to my relation columns; when that happens, I'd have to use Model::model->findbypk(n)->name.. that doesn't look pretty.
the id shows if i don't have the relations, but the name is blank when i put the relation name.
CHtml::listData(Model::model()->findAll(),'product_id','main.product_name'),
my model defaultscope is pretty basic:
return array(
'condition'=>'store_id1=:store_id OR store_id2=:store_id' ,
'params' => array(':store_id' => $store_id)
);
You can change the way you use your model like below:
Model::model()->with('main')->findAll();

Yii. Change URL based on model parameter value

I would like to use the same model "Work" for handling similar CRUD operations for "Services" and "Markets" pages. There is a column in the Work mysql table called "category". If category is "service", then I would like the Index to show list of Services that are stored in the Work table. Similarly for the "Markets" page.
I would need two urls for the same Model (in the menu and create/ update operations etc.). How can I set this up in the URL Manager?
'services/create/' => 'work/create?&category="services"',
You would do it like this:
array(
//put it first so it has highest priority
'services/create' => 'work/create/category/services',
//other rules follow
)
Then your function in your controller would look like this:
public function actionCreate($category) {
//your code
}
