App.xaml does not instantiate App resources - xaml

I have an Universal App Project and I instantiate a View Model Locator and an IOC Configurator instance in the App.xaml file.
This will work... But if I add some other resources like styles or build other instances nothing will be created. If I add more than 6 or 7 resources no instances will be created... This is very strange. Does anybody know whats wrong there? Now I create the instances in the app code behind, but this can not be the way!

UWP: Error when referencing Views from seperate repo

I have a normal UWP project but I've broken the Application, Views, ViewModels, Models, etc. into their own repositories.
When I reference the View (Page) from the Views repository I get an error |An unhandled exception of type 'System.AccessViolationException'".
If I make the view in the Application level of the project I don't get the error. My repository is a class library and all are pointing to the same Windows 10 version.
Can anyone explain this?
So, a colleague of mine actually found the answer for me. It's more of a hack but it works. I can't explain definitely why this works but I have an assumption. I'll leave the assumption to myself....
To make this work, open your App.xaml file and add the namespace to the Views repository.
xmlns:Views="using:Views"
Then make a dummy resource to the main view in that repository (or any view I'm assuming.)
<Application.Resources>
<Views:MainPage x:Key="mainPage" />
</Application.Resources>
For some reason this makes everything work like a charm... I know it's a hack but it's simple and clean enough that I've bought it and moved on.

XamlParseException when using UserControl from class library dll

I have created a library which has a Popup UserControl similar to the one here.
When I create a fresh Universal Windows App and create the same UserControl inside an app and open the popup, it opens.
But if I create a Class Library and create the same UserControl inside it and try to use it (by opening the popup) inside an app, I get a XamlParseException.
It is as follows -

I am not able to understand exactly why this is happening, since the code works fine when not called from an external class library.

You need to Add a Resource Dictionary in your App and Add the Usercontrol Xaml content to it
as Xaml is Considered as a Content file not compiled into the code

How do I create a file with the iOS\Cocoa Touch\Objective-C class template in Xcode

Forgive how simple this might sound but I'm stuck and need help. I am putting In App Purchases into may first app, which is not yet released. (So I'm very new)
I have been using a tutorial by Ray Wenderlich. I have just finished starting the Master Detail Application Template. Now it says I need to create a IAPHelper class which will be my class for the IAP the step I am on says to "create a file with the iOS\Cocoa Touch\Objective-C class template". However when I open Xcode and I select new project, I don't see this option. It has Single View Application etc.. the closest thing I see is Cocoa Touch Static Library.
Can someone tell me how I "create a file with the iOS\Cocoa Touch\Objective-C class template". I'm lost, do I do it from inside the Master Application Template? Or do I use some other template name like utility or empty application or Cocoa Touch Static Library? Or do I not have this in my version of Xcode? Or am I totally coming at this the wrong way? ahhhh!lol

In the current project you are working in, right click on a file and click "New File..." or go to File>New>File and then you will probably want a Objective-c class objection under Cocoa Touch
You need to do this in the same project which you have done till now. What you are trying to do is to create new project where as the tutorial is asking you to create new file. You have to do this in the same project which you are working on. In order to do that there is an option in file menu to add a new file to project.

Using ResourceDictionary from a DLL in Windows 8

How can I use the ResourceDictionary resource from the same DLL?
Basically I am trying to create a UI library with all classes derived from Page class. I want to keep all user interface pages in the same DLL.
To see the problem, from VS2012, create a Windows 8 library project, then add the Item Detailed Page. Now, if you open the created page from the editor, you will get some errors like "The resource "LayoutRootStyle" could not be resolved".
This is just a Xaml Designer error, so that will not prevent your project from building or running .
The only thing needed is that all the ResourceDictonary need to be referenced by the main application App.xaml (for example by using <ResourceDictionary Source="/<myLibraryName>/Common/StandardStyles.xaml"/> or by creating calling an Init method in the Library which will dynamically add the Resource dictionary).
A quick workaround for the error in the Xaml Designer is to just copy an App.xaml/App.xaml.cs in your library (but at runtime the main application will still need to have a reference on the needed ResourceDictionary since the App.xaml of the library will not be used).
Another posibility is to just add a refrence on the ResourceDictionary on each page but I believe that will be much more costly since it will create an instance of the dictionary for each page.

How to find out what the first view controller that gets loaded in an iPhone app is?

I think that looking at others' code is a good way to learn. I'm trying to learn iOS programming like this, but one thing that's confusing is when I look at a new project there's always a bunch of view controllers, and I don't know which one loads first.
Is there an entry in the plist file which says which view controller gets loaded first? How do you go about picking apart someone else's code in an Xcode project?
In the project there's a space called Main Interface / Main Storyboard that looks like this:
Target > General > Deployment Info > Main Interface:
But if they set it in code, then use ⇧+⌘+F on the project and search for 'rootViewController'.
