I have a pretty simple use case.
I have the Bar-Graph where one of the X-axis is Date Field grouped together on data to form the image attached below .
So , I want that whenever , I change click on any of the Stick of bargraph , then the StartDate and EndDate on the top filter gets changed .
Eg :
I click on December 25,2022 then automatically it becomes StartDate: 25Dec2022 and EndDate: 25Dec2022.
I created the parameter, calculative fields and Actions->Change params but something is being missed out or I am out of track.

Problem: How can you capture a pre-determined or static text value based on what choice a user makes from a multiple choice menu on a survey?
Example: Suppose you have the following basic setup:
I have four text statements that correspond to options 1-4 (e.g., "Statement corresponding to Option 1", "Statement corresponding to Option 2", etc.). If the user chooses, say, Option 1 from the sample_options field, then I would like to capture the text value of the pre-prepared statement in the option_statement field. The user should not be able to alter the captured text statement (e.g., maybe hide the field using the #HIDDEN action tag).
Attempt: It seemed like this might be a problem that could be resolved with action tags, namely the #DEFAULT one, but I have been unable to do this. I also thought about trying to use a calculated field instead of a text field for option_statement, but calculated fields must return numeric values:
This seems like a problem that should be somewhat straightforward to tackle, but I have been baffled by just how hard it seems to be to simply capture static text in one field based on a user's selection in another field.
If I understand the question, you want to select a text string from a list of (in this case) 4 options, depending on the user selecting a choice from a radio/dropdown?
Probably the easiest method is to use #CALCTEXT (if you are on a sufficiently recent version), which allows you to conditionally populate a text field, i.e.:
#CALCTEXT(
if([sample_options] = 1, "This is the label for option 1",
if([sample_options] = 2, "This is the label for option 2",
if([sample_options] = 3, "This is the label for option 3",
if([sample_options] = 4, "This is the label for option 4", "This is an else value")
)
)
)
)
But if you do not have #CALCTEXT available to you, you can do this with a #DEFAULT, by constructing another radio field (#HIDDEN if you like) on a separate page or instrument (as #DEFAULT needs the value to exist in the database on page load, and so does not work dynamically on the page), with your four labels as the options with the same choice codes as your [sample_choices] field. For example:
1,This is the label for option 1
2,This is the label for option 2
3,This is the label for option 3
4,This is the label for option 4
And annotate it with:
#DEFAULT='[sample_choice]'
Thus if a user selects 3 for [sample_choice] and proceeds to the page or instrument that has the label field, the #DEFAULT tag will automatically select choice 3 from the label field, which can then be stored in the dataset and piped into an email, onto the page, or whatever.
I have one field :P2_DATE, datepicker on an interactive report in apex5.0.
First Question:
How can i create validation thru:
1. A dynamic action
2. A validation process
that gives an error msg: 'Date should not be greater than system date'
when user choose from datepicker.
Second Question:
How to show only today's date in the date picker and disable others dates.
Pls provide steps-by-steps instruction if possible...thxs!!
Add Validation
Set type to PL/SQL Expression and put:
to_date(:P2_DATE,'DD-MM-YYYY') = to_date(sysdate,'DD-MM-YYYY')
You can see this Answer:jQuery Date Picker - disable past dates for disable dates in datepicker but you already have control over date by validation.
Another way is to create custom datepicker from external plugin.
The title is self explanatory. I am having difficulties setting a string value to a date time widget.
XCP has a build in function stringToDate
which i use in these examples...
1. stringToDate('5-5-2009')
2. stringToDate('05-05-2009')
3. stringToDate('5/5/2009')
But non of them work. What am I missing here ?
Also i set the value of the widget in the behaviors tab of the date widget.
If you are talking about Date-Time Input widget then you need to use dateToString not stringToDate.
I figured out the issue. It's dependent to the format in which you save your date to string value. If we save the Date-Time Input widget value in this format:
dateToString('12-12-2018', 'm-d-Y')
then doing a :
stringToDate(savedvalue) will work only when the format saved was 'm-d-Y'. It wasn't working before because i saved it as 'd-m-Y'.
I'm using the Bootstrap 3 DateTimePicker. When the user tabs into a field using this component, the current date and time is automatically entered. In some cases this is what I want. However, there are other times I want the component to completely ignore the time portion and not entered by default in a field. I can't seem to find a way to do this.
This will only display the date by default, try and see
$('.future');.datetimepicker({
pickTime: false,
format: 'DD/MM/YYYY'
});
I want to create a link name as Previous date and Next date in my show action. Please suggest me that how should I pass the date in that . i.e. If one clicks on the previous link then the records are displayed of the previous day and vice versa.
How to pass the date in show action? Please guide.
P.S. :- I am using rails 3
To display date and pass as link parameter you can use either ruby code or jQuery .
Ruby : To get the date :
How to calculate next, previous business day in Rails?
Put such function in your application helper . And call into you view and also pass as link parameter .
jQuery :
Error creating a '< previous' and 'next >' (date) link for jQueryUI datepicker using setdate
