I need to somehow move an Exchange 2016 Mailbox.edb to a new Exchange 2019 server. Is this possible without third party migration tools?
Doing an in-place migration apparently is not possible. Our cloud email company originally said they would do an in-place upgrade for us but then reneged. I also highly doubt they will allow us to connect our new server to theirs via a VPN. So I am left with somehow moving the files.
I haven't tried it, but I can't imagine Exchange Server 2019 will be able to mount a 2016 EDB mail store.
I have thoroughly searched online but I can only find info on in-place upgrades. I really hope I won't have to copy all the mailboxes to Outlook PST files and then push them back to the new server.

I have installed and configured Office Online Server Version 16.0.10338.20039 in a two server farm with load balancing. Now i would like to configure the servers to be automatically updated through Windows Update but this procedure appears to be no recommended from Microsoft as shown here
The cumulative update is the August 2022 CU for Office Online Server (KB5002228)
my question is has anyone tried installing a similar CU-Update automatically? and if so did it work or do i have to follow the instructions in the link above and do this manually?
I'm asking because i only have a production environment and therefor i can't afford any mistakes.

I did a deep search over internet and watched videos. There is nowhere that I could find how to make Sharepoint 2010 accesible from internet using SBS 2011.
What could be the steps to do this?
i.e : sharepoint 2010 is running properly on intranet. But the users want to reach it from home as well. And we are using SBS 2011 including Active Directory. How will these users reach sharepoint from home or not only from intranet?

I guess best solution is to provide VPN access to users. - future proof and you don't have to tweak any thing to the server. Its cheaper as well considering the cost and they will have seamless integration to AD
Next since you have already have AD configured ( it depends on how it has been setup) you could have additional ADFS configuration to authorise users.
See if you can upgrade to Windows Server 2012 essentials which gives more power than SBS 11 in terms of Claims authentication
Finally, you have to use Claim Based Authentication for the authentication and DNS routing etc which you might have seen on the videos.
Finally, you have cloud think Azure as well as an option.
Although I haven't configured SBS 2011 for SharePoint extranet, It appears to be same like windows 2008 server (slim down one) according to MSDN which should not affect your requirement. Apart from licensing... ( check this).
I am looking for a free DNN community edition website Backup and restore procedure working with DNN 7 and SQL server express 2008 r2.
I usually design and develop website in local PC as my connection speed to the actual server is low. And then I want to publish (deploy) the result in the server. I may need to repeat this procedure a few times as our website is always under development and I need to add new pages or update the existing ones.
I use DNN 7 community edition. I have already googled and have found plenty of commercial tools for this backup and restore. But the free methods seems to be 1.

How I could just save the newly registered users data in the website's database before copying entire local folder to production and restore this data after copying. In other way, I want to update the page contents and added designs but I don't want to loose newly registered users data between two consecutive website updates. I hope could find a working procedure for this because working online with server is very slow due to my connection speed and I have to keep a replica of the website in the local PC and add new pages or programs in the local PC and then update the result to the server when required. DNN doesn't really support this type of synchronization as a platform. They tried to offer it in their Enterprise product, but it worked so poorly they scrapped the feature.
I am setting up SharePoint 2010 on one machine with SQL Server on a separate box to server as both the data store and serve reporting services (through SSRS/SP Integration).
In the past, I would install the WSS 3.0 for SharePoint 2007 on the SQL Server Box. It appears that there is no existing option for SP 2010. Am I missing something? Thanks.
It is possible, I believe you can specify a Database server when you are configuring the product.

Does the standard edition come with MS Exchange? If so, is there any reliable equivalent in the web edition?

No version of Windows Server 2008 OS (Web, Standard, Enterprise) comes with Exchange. They all have basic outgoing smtp capabilities but if your want imap, pop3, or webmail you need to look for a 3rd party product.
A popular free mail server is SmarterMail
As far as I know the web edition is only for hosting web sites. It does not include any mail server like exchange. It should have an smtp server and should be able to accept mail, but nothing like Exchange.
It might be possible to install a mail server on web edition, but I don't have enough knowledge to know for sure.
In past versions you could not install sql server on the web edition. I am not sure if that has changed.
Another good free email server is hMailServer. I've been using it, and its greylisting feature has really cut down on spam. However, I don't know if this will run on the web edition of Windows Server.
I just read on the SmartTools forum that SmarterMail will run on the web edition.
Does anything know the purpose of getting the Standard Edition of Server 2008 over the Web Edition? I am hosting ASP.NET websites with MySQL 5, SmarterMail and SmarterStats, and need 4 GB min of memory. Will the Web Edition work for this? Just want to make sure it doesn't block ports or anything. I read on another site that they don't allow you to run a mail server on the web edition. The price difference between the two is huge.
