I am using arch linux and awesome wm and I use lf filemanager for file management. To be able to drag and drop I use the dragon package - this package opens a small window from which you can drag and drop files. But this window will open up in the upper left corner and I want it to open in the middle of the screen.
In the tutorials I watch, the window opens in the centre of the screen, but the author does not say how he achieved this, because the video is not about that. I think it can be set somehow through xorg configuration files, but I don't know how. Could you please tell me how to do it?

I think you want to open floating windows and make then centered
add the following to your config
-- Spawn floating clients centered
{rule_any = {floating = true},
properties = {
placement = awful.placement.centered
}
}
now all windows will be centered by default

I am having problem connecting the camera module to my Raspberry Pi 4. The PI is working just fine, but when I attach the camera to the module, it just doesn't boot.
What might be causing this?
So you have a successfully booting system then after physically connecting the camera it will not boot?
First, double check the camera is connected properly. Meaning the blue side of the connections are facing the right way (i.e. blue side facing the USB ports on the RPi itself and facing the front of the camera on the camera module connection). A quick search found this post containing pictures, that is usually the issue. If that fails, consider options within the config.txt file on the /boot partition. Reference for config.txt.
One of the config options that gets added automatically when adding the camera interface via raspi-config is start_x=1 Camera entries within config.txt are described here. Be sure that you have enough memory configured (i.e. gpu_mem=128, though increasing that is probably a good idea if you're doing a lot with the GPU (motion detection, etc.). But the physical connection is most likely the culprit.

I've just installed Windows 8.1 (my friend tells me the PC will start and shut down faster than Windows 7). I encounter some problems: the screen doesn't fit correctly There are black bars at top and bottom of the screen.
My monitor is LG E2211. I tried using the buttons on the monitor but I can't change the original ratio and It says "Digital input No access" when I choose auto.
I found this topic which has similar problem but it's only for windows 7
http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/286677-33-black-bars-5850?
Also, all the games and videos is becoming a lot slower. My friend told me it's because the PC didn't recognize the graphic card. Is it correct?
Go to your official graphic card's manufacturer's website and download the latest driver. I Had the same problem with mine.
Sometimes the native driver struggles to register the correct resolution or place it off screen.

Set a resolution higher than the monitor naturally can display - Screenshots [closed]

I'm looking for a way to do screenshots in a resolution of 2560x1600 pixel (current game: Skyrim).
My Display supports only resolutions up to Full-HD. Since I can't get higher in the Options-Menue (no possible option above Full-HD for me), I tried to modify the preferences.ini ("SkyrimPrefs.ini").
When I try to start the game, the following error appears:
Failed to initialize renderer.
Your display doesn't support the selected resolution.
Can this be "fixed" in a way? I mean, the screenshot for itself shouldn't care about the resolution of the monitor, it just needs the signal from the graphic chip, if I got this right.
First, you screen cannot give a higher resolution than Full-HD, because it just misses the required amount of pixels.
You want to downsample the game, this means that you render the image, but then it will be downsized to the resolution of your screen.
This is not done in the preferences.ini, but in your graphic chip itself. Furthermore, I don't know if the screenshot depends on the framebuffer or the screen itself. You could try FRAPS, which gets its information from the framebuffer.
I cannot explain this thoroughly myself, but luckily there are other people out there which have done this already.
I don't know what graphic card you have or what your OS is.

Guys it may sound dumb but this is my first day working with SSH.
I have never used commandline before. Can someone tell me how do I select an option at this stage. I am on a Putty Session using SSH on a Ubuntu server trying to configure my VPS.
I can scroll using the arrows, but pressing enter does not choose the option. May be it is an multiple select option. Using tab takes me to the button. If I keep navigate down to en (English) and then use Tab to OK it still submits blank. :(
Use the tab key to jump between widgets, the cursor keys to move between positions and the space key to toggle a selection.
To finish the dialog position the cursor over the <Ok> "button" (using the tab key again) and press Enter.
This is the typical behavior of an "ncurses" based interface. It has nothing to do with ssh or the system you use.

I have this weird issue with Photoshop - when I use the type tool, I can type letters normally, but when I type any punctuation character, it gets added to the beginning of the text.
As far as I remember, I haven't changed any settings. How do I avoid this ?
You can try :
go to edit>preferencec>type..
select type > choose text engine options select east asian.
Restart photoshop.
Create new peroject.
Try text tool again.
(if you want to use your project created with other text engine type) copy /paste all layers to new project.
This is a paragraph option. Go to Window>Paragraph then a small window will pop up. You will have two buttons on the bottom. One with a arrow on the left of P and one on the right. Select the right one.
Select all text afected by this issue:
Window -> Character, click the icon next to hide the Character Window, Middle Western Features and select
Left-to-right character direction.
