Jetbrains Gateway settings for frequent disconnects - intellij-idea

I’m using Jetbrains Gateway to use IntelliJ to work on the code in a remote Linux machine.
I connect via SSH. I connect and work fine initially, the latency is around 150 ms but it keeps disconnecting. I realized it disconnects when I stop coding and spend some time on other things (browser etc.). When I want to re-connect it asks for SSH key passphrase, I need to enter it multiple times and the 'Save Permanently' option won't work.
Is there a setting I can do to keep it connected?
Could this be related to my company's network, in which case again can I increase timeout or retry on fail by some settings?

I started using Remote Development feature of IntelliJ connecting to the same remote machine as described here https://www.jetbrains.com/help/idea/remote-development-starting-page.html
It does not disconnect, I can work whole day (tested 12+ hours) without any connection issues.

RDP session is slow

So I am connecting to my work computer from home and the Remote Desktop Connection app is annoyingly slow.
I pinged my work pc from my computer and it returned at a reasonable time of 50ms~ with 0 loss. I then attempted to ping my home IP from the RDP session and it timed out every time. Not sure if this might help anyone come to a conclusion but hopefully it does. Note I am also using it in conjunction with Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client if that helps at all. Work is Windows 7 and Home is Windows 8
I attempted switching off my home pc's firewall but that did nothing.
Any assistance would be great, surely a setting in the RDP file might make it run a little smoother.

Did three things and now RDP is running screaming fast:
Change RDP settings:
Run the RDP session and connect to the remote machine
Find mstcsc.exe in the Task Manager and and set priority to Realtime
I installed Ubuntu server XRDP. Went through Windows and terribly slowed down. I solved this problem. In the /etc/xrdp/xrdp.ini file, change crypt_level=high to crypt_level=None
Our remote chain is Citrix then RDP, target machine is Win 10.
I solved this issue by changing the mouse pointer scheme to None and disabling the pointer shadow.
In Windows 10. Go to Display Settings >> Scale and Layout >> Set the custom scale to 120 [you may need to experiment, try 110 - 150]
After that log in to your Remote Desktop, it should adjust the resolution and scaling factors.

Selenium scripts are running very slow when connected to VPN

I have written selenium scripts for my project and when started running them they run very slowly. It is so long time to perform each action. Have given my scripts to one of my colleague who is working from onshore where they do not need a VPN.
Can anyone please tell me what to do or if I can get some work around that would be greatly appreciated.

The actual problem comes from the client's (browser) send and received data across your test environment. The simplest solution would be - if you have any devops admin that can whitelist your PC, so you could get a free access. Never the less this could be a security issue.

Keeping a connection with remote computers

I have a series of RPi's running Raspian which need to deployed in various location around the world.
They will have internet access, but will all be behind a router. Is there an off-the-shelf solution to keep the possibility to create a SSH connection to them? I am thinking about solving problems, upgrading etc.
I am thinking of a 'server' solution where a 'client' on the RPi keep an active connection so a SSH connection can be established when required. Any suggestions will be much appreciated!
I have experimented with several services including LogMeIn Hamachi and Weaved among others. I would highly recommend using Weaved because it allows you to meet your goal (SSH to pi behind a router), and the setup is painless. You may even find some other uses that are quite handy.

Instability on Worklight Server

I'm using websphere liberty profile v8.5.5.0 and worklight 6.2.
The full version of my WL and runtime is:
Server version: 6.2.0.00.20140922-2259
Project WAR version: 6.2.0.00.20140922-2259
I've noticed that sometimes I have troubles getting into the worklightconsole, the server takes a too big of a time to answer and most of the time it just gives me a time out.
Regarding JVM Heap its at 60 - 70% of the total heap, most likkely 1,5 Gb or something like that.
On the FFDC, sometimes I get a error saying something close to an
FFDC Incident has been created: "javax.naming.ServiceUnavailableException: ldap.example.com:389; socket closed; remaining name 'o=example' com.ibm.ws.wim.adapter.ldap.LdapConnection 1670" at ffdc.log
I have my LDAP connected to this websphere via VPN, and I know that webspheres historically have trouble dealing with LDAP.
However I don't see any more errors on the logs; the machine eventually recovers and is able to work correctly, but for some time is 'down'.
If I enable tracing, the verbosity overwhelms the machine and I can't even start the worklightconsole, neither continue to work with worklight like calling an adapter from an application.
There is one more thing, it seems that this happens more frequently after updates on existing application versions or adapters. Does this ring a bell with anyone?
If i ask for a restart when the machine is sluggish, the stoping of the websphere takes quite some time but eventually stops normally and when I start it, everything is fine right out of the bat.
Before asking for a PMR, I would like to know if there is something else I could do to troubleshoot this problem.

My initial "smell" of the problem is that sometimes your VPN connection with LDAP is very slow or your LDAP server is taking too long to respond.
My suggestion is that you try using WAIT(wait.ibm.com), it's a non-invasive easy to use diagnostic tool, to further investigate. If you find out the call to LDAP is getting hang then I suggest you try tuning Liberty LDAP cache, this should help.

Apache freezes if a request is sent while leaving wifi network

I'm using Apache 2.4.4 as a part of WAMP in Windows 2008 server. If I try to send a request while on the fringe of a wifi network using a smart phone and the phone transitions from wifi to 4g, my entire Apache service will freeze until it is restarted. Nothing is written to the access log or error log after the service stops working.
Is there a way to protect my server against this?

I did some more testing. This only occurs if I'm using the external IP to connect to the server ie. 60.60.60.60:8080, but not 192.168.0.5:8080.
I am able to recreate the issue 100% if I stand somewhere with slight packet loss (2%), send a request, and disconnect from wifi before a response is received.
The only thing that locks up is Apache. Everything else on the server works fine.
It seems this is an issue with Apache, Windows, and my network card. I tried the solution to this question which is a general solution for buggy Windows/Apache interactions. I'll try updating my network card drivers when I get that chance and that may also solve the issue without needing the above fix.
