Using Hibernate Reactive Panache with SDKs that switch thread - locking

I'm using Reactive Panache for Postgresql. I need to take an application level lock(redis), inside which I need to perform certain operations. However, panache library throws the following error:
java.lang.IllegalStateException: HR000069: Detected use of the reactive Session from a different Thread than the one which was used to open the reactive Session - this suggests an invalid integration; original thread [222]: 'vert.x-eventloop-thread-3' current Thread [154]: 'vert.x-eventloop-thread-2'
My code looks something like this:
redissonClient.getLock("lock").lock(this.leaseTimeInMillis, TimeUnit.MILLISECONDS, this.lockId)
.chain(() -> return Panache.withTransaction(() -> Uni.createFrom.nullItem())
.eventually(lock::release);
)
Solutions such as the ones mentioned in this issue show the correct use with AWS SDK but not when used in conjunction with something like redisson. Does anyone have this working with redisson?
Update:
I tried the following on lock acquire and release:
.runSubscriptionOn(MutinyHelper.executor(Vertx.currentContext())
This fails with the following error even though I have quarkus-vertx dependency added:
Cannot invoke "io.vertx.core.Context.runOnContext(io.vertx.core.Handler)" because "context" is null

Panache might not be the best choice in this case.
I would try using Hibernate Reactive directly:

How can I mock a call to Spring's repository `saveAll()` method using mockk?

I am using Mockk as my mocking framework when testing my Spring Boot Data repository interfaces.
Actually I am doing the following
every { itemRepository.saveAll(listOf(any(), any())) } returns listOf<Item>(mockk())
which should mock the following behaviour
val loot: List<Item> = itemGenerator.generateLoot(lootTable)
itemRepository.saveAll(loot)
The error message I receive is the following:
Failed matching mocking signature for

The error message says left matchers: [any(), any()] pointing out that I somehow am not defining the expected arguments right.
I could fully define the items by real implementations in my test logic but I'd like to stick with mockk() just to keep the test code slim and fast.
However I kinda am not able to define the List<Item> with two elements using listOf(any(),any()) here. I tried other API of Mockk without any luck.
Any idea what to use in this case?
You should type the any() when you are passing into saveAll().
For instance:
import com.barbarus.gameserver.item.Item
...
every { itemRepository.saveAll(any<List<Item>>() } returns listOf<Item>(mockk())

I am able to log all layers except Spring data JPA repositories, which are actually interfaces. Below is agent initialization:

I see my advice around controller and service layers - JPA repository layer is not getting logged.
By default, Byte Buddy ignores synthetic types in its agent. I assume that Spring's repository classes are marked as such and therefore not processed.
You can set a custom ignore matcher by using the AgentBuilder DSL. By default, the following ignore matcher is set to ignore system classes and Byte Buddy's own types:

You would probably need to remove the last condition.
for anybody visiting this question / problem - I was able to go around the actual problem with logging actual queries invoked during execution - Bytebuddy is awesome and very powerful - for ex- in my case I am simply advice'ing on my db connection pool classes and gathering all required telemetry -

Jmeter Beanshell: Accessing global lists of data

I'm using Jmeter to design a test that requires data to be randomly read from text files. To save memory, I have set up a "setUp Thread Group" with a BeanShell PreProcessor with the following:

I then attempt to read this in my other thread groups and am trying to access a random line in my text files with something like this:
(props.get("items")).get(new Random().nextInt((props.get("items")).size()))
However, this throws a "Typed variable declaration" error and I think it's because the get() method returns an object and I'm trying to invoke size() on it, since it's really a List. I'm not sure what to do here. My ultimate goal is to define some lists of data once to be used globally in my test so my tests don't have to store this data themselves.
Does anyone have any thoughts as to what might be wrong?

I've also tried defining the variables in the setUp thread group as follows:
bsh.shared.items = items;
And then using them as this:
(bsh.shared.items).get(new Random().nextInt((bsh.shared.items).size()))
But that fails with the error "Method size() not found in class'bsh.Primitive'".
You were very close, just add casting to List so the interpreter will know what's the expected object:
log.info(((List)props.get("items")).get(new Random().nextInt((props.get("items")).size())));
Be aware that since JMeter 3.1 it is recommended to use Groovy for any form of scripting as:
Groovy performance is much better
Groovy supports more modern Java features while with Beanshell you're stuck at Java 5 level
Groovy has a plenty of JDK enhancements, i.e. File.readLines() function
So kindly find Groovy solution below:

NullPointerException caught when writing to BigTable using Apache Beam's dataflow sdk

I'm using Apache's Beam sdk version 0.2.0-incubating-SNAPSHOT
and trying to pull data to a bigtable with the Dataflow runner. Unfortunately I'm getting NullPointerException when executing my dataflow pipeline where I'm using BigTableIO.Write as my sink. Already checked my BigtableOptions and the parameters are fine, according to my needs.
Basically, I create and in some point of my pipeline I have the step to write the PCollection<KV<ByteString, Iterable<Mutation>>> to my desired bigtable:

When executing the pipeline, I got the NullPointerException, pointing out exactly to the BigtableIO class at the public void processElement(ProcessContext c) method:

I checked this method is processing all elements before to write on bigtable, but not sure why I'm getting such exception overtime I execute this pipeline. According to the code below, this method uses bigtableWriter attribute to process each c.element(), but I can't even set a breakpoint to debug where is exactly the null. Any kind of advice or suggestion of how to solve this issue?

I looked up the job and its classpath, and if I'm not mistaken it looks like you're using version 0.3.0-incubating-SNAPSHOT of beam-sdks-java-{core,io}, but version 0.2.0-incubating-SNAPSHOT of google-cloud-dataflow-java.
I believe the issue is because of this - you have to use the same version (more details: BigtableIO in version 0.3.0 uses #Setup and #Teardown methods, but runner 0.2.0 does not support them yet).

How can you use SessionAsSigner in a Java Bean called from an XPage?

According to Phillip Riand (see: discussion on openNTF) this is not possible... They need to know the design element to find out who signed it. Therefore, it is only available in SSJS.
There are 2 ways that I know of to use the sessionAsSigner object in Java beans:
1 By resolving the sessionAsSigner object:
FacesContext context = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
Session sessionAsSigner = context.getApplication().getVariableResolver().
resolveVariable(context, "sessionAsSigner");
2 By using the getCurrentSessionAsSigner() function from the com.ibm.xsp.extlib.util.ExtLibUtil class in the Extension Library.
To be able to use it (in Java as wel as SSJS) you'll want to make sure that all design elements were signed by the same user ID. If that's not the case, the sessionAsSigner object will not be available ('undefined').
I found that the solution is right at hand :-)
I changed my XPage (in this example an XAgent) to:

This is an xAgent returning json data...

and in the bean I simply used the session in the argument when I needed to open a database/document as signer. Sometimes the solution is so simple :-)

This is quite an old post that I just stumbled upon. Tried some of the solutions mentioned above:
resolveVariable did not work for me, at least not for sessionAsSigner as this throws a runtime error (I can resolve plain old session, though...)
to be honest I didn't quite understand the Controller.verify(sessionAsSigner) method; is Controller something specific to XAgents? If so, I don't have an XAgent here, so can't use it
didn't feel like importing extra ExtLib classes here...
So I came up with another solution that appears to be very simple:
created a method in my javaBean that takes a session object as argument; since sessionAsSigner belongs to the same class as session I don't have to import something new.
Javacode is:

This is called from SSJS as either
