Does Lambdatest Playwright support playwright bundled browsers - testing

I am new to Lambdatest Playwright.
As seen in Lambdatest capability generator https://www.lambdatest.com/capabilities-generator/, chrome browsers are supported. I want to know if those browsers will be bundled browsers provided by Playwright or not ?

Yes, you can use both bundled as well as non-bundled browsers on Lambdatest for Playwright.
In order to use non-bundled browsers, use the capability generator to get the capability names to choose browser name and browser version.
And, as mentioned in Lambdatest Playwright documentation , in order to use bundled browser, you can pass pw-chromium, pw-webkit, or pw-firefox as browserName.

How can I test a Crosswalk application with BrowserStack?

At our company, we maintain a legacy Android application which uses Crosswalk to embed a web view. We would like to implement automated end-to-end tests for this app using Appium and ChromeDriver.
Unfortunately, the version of Chrome used by Crosswalk is modified in such a way that ChromeDriver cannot connect to it. This is a known issue, and the recommended workaround is to use a custom patched version of ChromeDriver instead.
This solution works for running tests locally. But BrowserStack doesn't seem to allow for supplying a custom build of ChromeDriver. I can choose from a set list of versions, but that won't help, as none of those versions have the Crosswalk patch.
Is there a way to make this work with BrowserStack?
I had used BrowserStack for my native app tests as well. Currently, they do not provide any custom capability to select the ChromeDriver version.

Are there NPAPI testing tools?

I'm using firebreath to build a plugin that downloads an application and runs it (something very simple). I know that some browsers are dropping npapi support, but I need to run this plugin just in old versions of browsers (e.g. IE 6, Firefox 38, Chrome 31). I'd like to know if there are any tools that could help testing the plugin's in a variety of environments (e.g. Firefox on Linux,windows, Safari on OSX). So far, what I'm doing, is setting up each environment (windows, linux, Mac) and building/installing the plugins manually. I think cross browser testing tools that I've found on internet won't help, because they don't allow plugin install.

Any browser automation tool capable of instrumenting pages on all of those platforms can test NPAPI, since it runs in a browser...

Why do we need IEDriver and ChromeDriver but no Firefox Driver?

I have small doubt.
Why do we need IEdriver and Chrome Driver running selenium scrits in IE and Chrome but we do not need a firefox driver to run the script?
Is there any reason for the same?
This is because of the Native Browser approach used in WebDriver.
Each and every browser uses different JS Engine.
All drivers [Chrome Driver, IE driver, etc.,] are built based on the special JS Engine used by each browser.
Selenium offers inbuilt driver for Firefox but not for other browsers. [Not sure it may happen in future, since TestNG and JUnit library files are a part of Selenium-standalone-server right now]
Straight from a google search for FirefoxDriver, the official documentation states:
Firefox driver is included in the selenium-server-stanalone.jar available in the downloads. The driver comes in the form of an xpi (firefox extension) which is added to the firefox profile when you start a new instance of FirefoxDriver.
External drivers are the preferred process by the Selenium developers. They allow the driver versioning to be tied more closely to the browser than to Selenium, and they can be supported by the browser authors (e.g., ChromeDriver, OperaDriver). There is a long-standing plan to replace FirefoxDriver with a Mozilla-supported driver based on Mozilla's "Marionette" architecture.
Firefox driver is already included in the selenium-server-standalone.jar package.

Does phantomjs cover more than just chrome?

Phantomjs is webkit based. That means of the major browsers it's really only emulating Chrome, right? Does it provide a mechanism (or is there a way to force it) to provide sufficient test coverage for other browsers, aside from wrapping it in Selenium?
No. Current PhantomJS is a version of WebKit that is roughly equivalent to Chrome 13 or Safari 5.1, but it is neither of those browsers. (Chrome and Safari behave differently too.) (BTW, PhantomJS 2.0 is hopefully going to have the webkit separately linkable, so you can use different versions.)
If you move to using CasperJS, then your same script can (usually) run with each of PhantomJS and SlimerJS, which will give you test coverage for both WebKit and Gecko (Firefox). SlimerJS also allows you to directly use a local installation of Firefox instead of the supplied Gecko engine, if you wanted to test against different Firefox versions.

Run Geb tests with chromeDriver without opening the browser

I want to run my Geb specs with chrome driver without having to watch the tests on the browser? can this be done?
P.D.: I know I can use the HtmlUnitDriver, but this driver sometimes gives my errors (caused mainly by timeouts) that the chrome driver don't.
There is currently no way to do this with Chrome, Safari, Opera or FireFox, however there are multiple options you can do. First is to pipe the "window" into a virtual frame buffer (if you're using Linux). This process will pop open the browser, only in memory. I talk about this in my blog post (http://www.ensor.cc/2011/05/maven-javascript-unit-test-using.html) during the maven pre-integration phase
The other option is to use the brand new GhostDriver. GhostDriver is a WebDriver implementation of PhantomJS which is a headless WebKit. This is WAY better than HtmlUnit but still has some features being built out. GhostDriver is currently not in Maven Central, so you will need to manually add it to the common repository. You can then use it as a WebDriver. This has worked for me with moderate success (90% of my test cases dropped in without any changes needed).
