My app works like this: when I hit the blue button in the bottom of the table, a new row will be added, like this:
However, the dateEdit widgets are a little bit off cells:
However, as long as I resize the window a little bit they are well placed in the cells again:
I would like to know why this happens and is there any workarounds?

I am basically trying to recreate the popOver that exists in certain Xcode Settings, like this one in Build Settings:
I have tried both with and without using an NSArrayController to control the content but in each of the tests I ran in to different problems I haven't been able to solve.
Desired Result
Complete White Background
Multiple Selection and (Single) Editable Cells
No Reordering is required
When I press the + button I want the new cell to be selected and in edit mode
I want to get notification of when text changes while editing to be able to respond to that.
1. Using Delegate Methods.
When I had set up everything up I got this result:
That didn't look good, so I went and selected "Draws Background" for the NSTableViewCell, which resulted in this which looks nice when I edit a cell:
But when i just Highlight the cell, it looks like this:
It looks like the highlighting get's placed behind the cell background.
Here I'm stuck and don't know how to fix.
2. Using NSArrayController
When I reconfigure and bind this to an NSArrayController the highlighting looks great:
But when I edit a cell, the entire background changes to grey:
This is also not what I want, but can't figure out what to do about.

Notes
In Desired Result I listed some things like "When I press the + button I want the new cell to be selected and in edit mode" and "I want to get notification of when text changes while editing to be able to respond to that." To possibly influence the choice of what route to take, as there are more things about thins TableView I haven't figured out.
But this question Is all about how to fix the highlighting and selection so they stay white all the time, and just selecting a cell looks as expected.

Force the appearance to aqua. So instead of inherited select aqua. This solved the issues for me.
I am having a lot of Items(Say 100), I want the user to swipe right and left to see the detailed description of Items.
I thought of using a Pivot Control, but that is causing performance problem because of too many items.
Now, In order to make it lightweight, I want to implement the scenario in a Single page and change the DataContext when the user swipes. I know that swipe gestures can be detected from the toolkit project. Now, I want to animate my grid, when swipe gestures happening exactly like Pivot Page or a Normal Scroll behaviour. I searched a bit, and found that it can be done by creating StoryBoard animation but I am less experienced in that. Any code sample will be helpful. Thanks.
i think you can make archive page and when the user select the item jump to the pivot with selected index
Small possible code sample.
In your page code behand, initialize a Dictionary ( where int is the position and pivotitem the pivot )
Load it up with 3 pivots at start
Than if your Pivot control is called AllPivots, do AllPivots.Items.Add(pivotItem) for each pivot inside the dictionary.
Next thing to do is detect how the user is changing the pivots, so if the selectedindex changes of AllPivots, see if the user advances, if so, add the next pivot into the dictionary and also to the AllPivots.Items and remove the first pivot with AllPivots.Items.Remove.
Each time the user goes back or forward look up the next or previous pivot in the dictionay and perform the correct actions or create new pivots on the fly.
Like I said a dirty hack, but maybe worth a try
I am designing a VBA UserForm (in Excel, if it is relevant) and I would like some controls to be visually grouped together.. but when I put them in a frame, I am getting some undesired results (part of it has to do with the RefEdit control which seems to be particularly unhappy inside a frame).
Is there a way to draw a border around a group of controls on a form without putting them inside a Frame?
Use a label with the caption deleted and the border style set to fmBorderStyleSingle. It may appear on top of your other controls, so right click on it and select "send backwards" until it's behind your other controls.
The best way to do this would be to create the shape over where you need it to be. Drag highlight everything that you want on top of it, then right click and brink it all forwards. Then when you drag your shape back over the top it will in fact be underneath everthing else.
Hope that helps.
This worked for me and I was at first having the same issue where I had to choose to "Send Backward" up to 30 times per label in some cases. I found that hitting the Ctrl-K sends it to the back of all controls with one time hitting these keys.
EDITED:
I think we can just draw an image that resemble the grid using this article : drawing in a datagridview Currently creating a way to make the image drawn in tile mode. :)
Each time I develop a datacentric application using VB.NET regardless of how much the data displayed in the datagrid, I always want the grid to display full row of empty data, not just blank panel.
Can we achieve this using VB.NET design time property?
And also, we must not trigger the display of vertical scrollbar this way.. :)
Thanks
You might try doing a screen capture of the dgv when it is full of blank lines and use that as your background. However, you'll have a problem with the vertical lines if they resize the columns. In your picture you don't have any vertical lines so if you don't need them then just erase them and your problem is solved.
There's also the option of using the Virtual Mode. When you set that property to true then you can set the number of visible rows, but you are responsible for telling the dgv what each individual cell is supposed to contain: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/2b177d6d.aspx
Or you can just add extra blank rows to whatever datasource you are setting your DGV to.
Use the ScrollBars property to turn the vertical scroll bar off.
Is there a simple way of animating rows in an NSTableView?
I'd like to be able to do something like flash a row, or fade out a row.
Essentially - to provide a bit of visual feedback when rows are added or removed.
Edited to add:
I'd had a quick look over Google before posting this; but I wanted to know if there was some way to do this that I'd missed other than drawing and animating parts of the table view myself.
To flash a row, there are a number of ways to go. You could just grab a cell and play with it's view, such as change the color of the background or font colors. You could also just select the cell and deselect it a few times, if you don't care about removing the existing selection from another cell. Or you could superimpose another view on top of the cell's view and use blend modes...
For animating the deletion, you could do the same as above, dimming the cell, or even move the view up and out, transform it so it shrinks down and move it over to a trash can and shrink it all the way down as it enters the trash. Then after the animation is done, you delete the row.
