progress bar on taskbar icon using winforms .net 6 vb.net - vb.net

I am having a hard time finding a solution to display the status of a progressbar on the taskbar icon on Windows 10/11. Do you have suggestions.
I use Winforms with VB.Net .Net 6.

thanks to all the same, I solved it like this:
installed package NuGet: "Microsoft-WindowsAPICodePack-Core" by rpastric, contre, dahall
'Imports
Imports Microsoft.WindowsAPICodePack.Taskbar
Dim stato_istanza = TaskbarProgressBarState.Normal
Dim istanza = TaskbarManager.Instance
istanza.SetProgressState(stato_istanza)
istanza.SetProgressValue(value, valuemax)
All tested and working with Winforms VB.Net with .Net 6.0 and Visual Studio 2022

I'm not 100% sure as it's not something that I've done myself but I think that you can use the Microsoft.Windows.SDK.Contracts package for that. I believe that that is what replaced the WindowsAPICodePack package.

How to make the style of a MenuStrip like that of the MenuStrip in Notepad? (VB.NET)

and I was wondering if there was a way to get this style of MenuStrip:
in a WinForms application, instead of this style:
I've already tried browsing through the different appearances Visual Studio offers, but I think it might be the version of the .NET framework I'm using, which is 4.5, I'm fairly certain.
Edit: Sorry, I should have said this before, but I'm using Windows 7 and Visual Studio 2010.
I've found the solution. Just simply replace a MenuStrip with a ToolStrip, and but the RenderMode property to "System". I feel rather silly now heh
I found the solution.Right click on toolbar and click Choose Item.Now select .Net Framework click Main Menu.
Now use it. But I have windows 7 and visual basic 2010 express...

Vb.net Mobile Application

I've been assigned a school project in which we're asked to develop a survey app for device/mobile use using VB.net.
I've started learning some Visual Basic, yet I'm failing to understand the following. I've downloaded Visual Studio 2017, do I need to download something extra so that I'm able to program for a mobile device? Or what is it that I need to do? I'm quite confused, I'd really appreciate some sort of help with understanding what's going on. I've been searching on the Internet quite some time now, and all I've found is "Visual Basic for Windows Phone Developer Tools - RTW", which is a version for 2010 and I'm not quite sure if it's what I need anyway. Another thing I've found is Xamarin.
Any help will be highly appreciated and excuse me for such a dumb question.
You're probably looking for Xamarin. It lets you use C#, F# and VB.NET code to develop cross-platform apps including native apps for iOS and Android.
Note that Xamarin doesn't completely or directly support VB.NET. You'll have to do the following steps to get started:
Create a new C# solution of the type Mobile App (Xamarin.Forms). You need to have the Mobile Development with .NET workload installed for this.
In said solution, add a Visual Basic .NET Class Library (.NET Standard). After creating the project, right-click it, click Properties, and change the Default Namespace to match the existing C# project(s).
Right-click the VB.NET project again, click "Manage NuGet Packages", then install Xamarin.Forms.
After this, you will want to rename Class1.vb to App.vb. Paste the following starter / example code there:
Imports Xamarin.Forms
Public Class App
Inherits Application
Public Sub New()
Dim label = New Label With {
.HorizontalTextAlignment = TextAlignment.Center,
.FontSize = Device.GetNamedSize(NamedSize.Medium, GetType(Label)),
.Text = "Welcome to Xamarin.Forms with Visual Basic.NET"
}
Dim stack = New StackLayout With {
.VerticalOptions = LayoutOptions.Center
}
stack.Children.Add(label)
Dim page = New ContentPage
page.Content = stack
MainPage = page
End Sub
End Class
Update the Android and iOS projects so that they reference the Visual Basic .NET project(s), rather than the C# project created by the template. Right-click on the References node in the Android and iOS projects to open the Reference Manager. Untick the C# library and tick the Visual Basic .NET library instead. Do this for both iOS and Android. Finally, delete the C# project. You can now develop your Xamarin project in VB.NET by adding more .vb files as necessary.
Unfortunately, VB.NET has a few limitations in regards to Xamarin:
You can't write custom renderers or dependency service implementations in VB.NET. These must be written in C# or F#.
You can't include XAML pages in VB.NET projects. You'll have to use a workaround that involves including XAML pages in a seperate, C#-based, portable class library, referencing it, and populating the XAML models with VB.NET through databinding. Alternatively, this may be of help for using XAML with VB.NET.
More info can be found at Microsoft's website.
I know this question is three years old, and that lots of time has passed since that school project, but I hope this answer was helpful to you regardless, and / or that it will be helpful to others who have the same or a similar question. To anyone about to write Xamarin apps in VB.NET or who is currently doing so, I wish you the best of luck!

Reporting template in Visual Studio 2017

The Reporting template seems missing in VS2017 (I am using Visual Basic). Any way to get it back?
I have already tried installing SQL Server Data tools and the rdlc extension from the marketplace, but it still doesn't show up.
The template is available in the Add New Item window. Select Visual C# and then look for the Report and Report Wizard templates. These templates are only visible under Visual C#, not under any subitem.
Try updating ReportViewer to version 14.0.0.0 and installing Microsoft.RdlcDesigner. This worked for me for Visual C# and then just like J.Bunch said there is no sub item Reporting like there was before so you just scroll down thorough all items. Also try this although the example is for C# I think it should at least help you with VB.Net as well. Hope it helps.

Taskbar Toolbar (DeskBand) in VB.NET for Win7 x64

I found two helpful sites:
Band Object Basics
Extending Explorer with Band Objects Using .NET
My problem is, if I want activate my toolbar, drop the popup window that say this: "**** toolbar isn't compatible with this version of Windows."
I write this on Win x64 with VB.NET Target Platform\CPU: x64
My VB.NET project files:

What could be the problem?
Please help me. Thank you.
You DeskBand must implement IDeskBand2 interface. And IDeskBand2.CanRenderComposited method must set CanRenderComposited to TRUE.

Microsoft Chart Controls in Visual Studio 2010?

Is this possible? I installed them, but they don't appear. Do I have to import them or something?
If you cannot see the Chart control in the Toolbox, right click in the Toolbox, select Choose Items, and then select the following namespaces in the .NET Framekwork Components tab:
System.Web.UI.DataVisualization.Charting
System.Windows.Forms.DataVisualization.Charting
Please, take a look: How use MS chart control with VS 2010?
I haven't tried it with VS2010, but I would assume the process for using it is exactly the same as described there for other versions of VS. It won't appear in the tool box until you instal the add-ons
According to this blog post from January 2010:
The Microsoft Chart Control is available as separate installation for .NET Framework 3.5 and will be included in .NET Framework 4.0.
It could be that the controls haven't been updated to work with VS2010 because of this. If they're not in the Beta 2 by default (I don't have it installed on this machine to check) then it might be that they're only going to be included in the full release.
The Chart controls are included in version 4. Here's where you can find the types:
ASP.NET:

Winforms:
