Unable to run contains query - sql

I am unable to run a contains query in my sybase database.
Query:
SELECT *
from party CONTAINS(nm_first,'ghjg')
On running the above query, I get an error message
"Table User-Defined Function 'party' not found" Error: 7306
Is this a bug? I am unable to find enough resources to find appropriate solution.
Any inputs would be appreciated.

You can do this instead
SELECT *
FROM party
WHERE nm_first LIKE '%ghjg%'

PostgreSQL - Failed to prepare query: ERROR: column "referenceno" does not exist

This is probably a really obvious mistake, but I have been trying a number of things and I do not seem to be able to get the right answer.
From R, I try to execute the following DELETE SQL statement on a PostgreSQL database hosted by Digital Ocean.
sql <- "DELETE FROM tablename WHERE referenceNo IN (380,376,344,345)"
conn %>% dbExecute(sql)
I get the following error and I am unable to find the correct syntax.
Error: Failed to prepare query: ERROR: column "referenceno" does not exist
LINE 1: DELETE FROM tablename WHERE referenceNo IN (380,37...
^
HINT: Perhaps you meant to reference the column "tablename.referenceNo".
I have tried to follow the hint and tried SQL syntax like:
sql <- "DELETE FROM tablename WHERE tablename.referenceNo IN (380,376,344,345)"
Unfortunately, I get the same error message.
i already slove a problem like your's by using : "columns" and not columns,
DELETE FROM tablename WHERE "referenceNo" IN (380,376,344,345)

Hive SQL Select is not working with multiple AND criteria, showing error: The operator 'AND' accepts at least 2 argument

I am trying to run a very simple query that just select all the rows based upon some multiple criteria and all are inclusive i.e. I am using AND in select HiveQL statement. The table is an external table in Hive and the storage handler is phoenix, so I checked in phoenix also about that query and it is working fine, but in Hive, it is showing some java IO exception error which I am not able to get where I am wrong. The query I am using is:
SELECT * FROM msme_api.msme_jk WHERE gender='Male' AND socialcategory='General';
The complete error message is:
Error: java.io.IOException: org.apache.hadoop.hive.ql.exec.UDFArgumentLengthException: The operator 'AND' accepts at least 2 argument. (state=,code=0)
I am trying for external and for internal Hive tables, In both, the issues are still the same but when I give order by, OR statement then it's surprising that it works.
SELECT * FROM msme_api.msme_jk WHERE gender='Male' AND socialcategory='General' order by aid;
SELECT * FROM msme_api.msme_jk WHERE gender='Male' OR socialcategory='General';
Both works fine but with AND, I am getting the error.
I still confused about how hive is taking and processing the above queries and why I am not able to execute simple select statement. Any help will be appreciated.

Firebird select statement gives SQLSTATE = 42S02

I've made a very simple database and am trying
select * from klant;
I've verified the table exists, and last week was able to see data in it. Today however I keep getting
Statement failed, SQLSTATE = 42S02
Dynamic SQL Error
-SQL error code = -204
-Table unknown
-KLANT
-At line 1, column 15
The same select query in flameRobin gives the following error:
Error: *** IBPP::SQLException ***
Context: Database::Statistics
Message: isc_database_info failed
SQL Message : -902
can't format message 13:98 -- message file C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\firebird.msg not found
Engine Code : 335544727
Engine Message :
Error writing data to the connection.
I have copied the firebird.msg to the system32 folder so it should be able to find it there.
Any pointers toward the solution would be greatly appreciated. Similar question all seem to point toward issues with transactions, I can't see that being the problem here.
Edit:
I'm using the included ISQL tool from firebird and start the session by connecting to the database that includes my table. Same for flamerobin, first connect to database, I can see the table that i want to select from but it gives this error.
Edit2:
Finally reinstalled Firebird making sure I gave it admin right, which I think it had before, but wasn't sure about. This seems to have fixed it.

MS Access database: Select statement error

I am trying following query in MS Access 2010 database:
Query:
SELECT ID, Title, Priority, Workflow_Instance_Step_ID:ID
FROM Task
Error:
Error Source: Microsoft Office Access Database Engine
Error Message: Syntax error (missing operator) in query expression 'Workflow_Instance_Step_ID:ID'
I know that field "Workflow_Instance_Step_ID:ID" is giving error as it has ':' operator, but I cant change it as it it coming from share point list.
I have tried '[Workflow_Instance_Step_ID:ID]' but still its giving an error.
Please give me your suggestion on the same.
I am unable to recreate your issue, at least with a native Access table in Access 2010. I created a table named [baz] with a single text field named [foo:bar]
foo:bar
-------
this
is
a
test
and the query
SELECT [foo:bar] FROM baz;
works fine, so a field name containing a colon character does not seem to cause problems for Access SQL as such.
An ODBC linked table to a SQL Server table with the same structure does not cause problems either.
In both cases the queries were run from within Access 2010 itself.
So we might be in diagnosis mode, so lets try
SELECT * FROM Task
and then look at the FieldNames that come back.

Query Failed Error: Unexpected. Please try again. Google BigQuery

I am unable to execute a simple select query (select * from [<DatasetName>.<TableName>] LIMIT 1000) with Google BigQuery. It is giving me below error:
Query Failed
Error: Unexpected. Please try again.
Job ID: job_51MSM2uo1vE5QomZA8Sv_RUE7M8
The table contains around 10 records. I am able to execute queries on other tables.
Job Id is - job_51MSM2uo1vE5QomZA8Sv_RUE7M8.
It looks like there was a temporary issue where we were seeing timeouts when querying tables that had been inserted to recently via streaming insert (tabledata.insertall()). We're currently addressing the underlying issue, but it should be working now. Please ping this thread if you see it again.
