I'm german but i translated the error in english. So my Problem is that i wanted to use Visual Studio 2022 but when i run a program like a simple code i get this error and btw. I'm using C# and .Net 5.0 because .Net 6.0 seems pretty strange because there are no methods, classes and so on:
The Profile "..." cannot be executed by the Project
But then i downloaded Visual Studio 2019 and it worked perfectly?
I don't know what the Problem is. Can someone help me?
Please!
Fixed! I haven't installed .Net Desktopdeveloping! I dont know why but yeah
You need to select the console application with the subtitle:
"A project for creating a command-line application that can run on .NET Core on Windows, Linux and MacOS." Image showing which one you should select
(since you are using the german version: "Ein Projekt zum Erstellen einer Befehlszeilenanwendung, die mit .NET unter Windows, Linux und macOS ausgeführt werden kann.")
The other one will not run.

I am running Mac OS Catalina, and have Visual Studio version 8.3.8 installed. Before installing Catalina I had no problems building and running my code in Visual Studio.
I don't get any errors when building the code, but each time I try to run my code I get the following dialog popup
Could not connect to the debugger
And I get the following in my terminal:
bash: /Library/Frameworks/Mono.framework/Versions/6.4.0/bin/mono32:
Bad CPU type in executable
I suspect that Catalina doesn't run 32 bit programs, is there a way around this? I thought that Mono from version 5.2 defaulted to 64 bit.
I ran into this issue while using the following settings:
Windows 10
Visual Studio 2019
Macbook Pro
macOS Big Sure 11.4
Visual Studio for Mac (latest)
XCode 12.5
When trying to debug my Xamarin app for IOS and connect my mac in visual studio I had to follow the following steps.
Install mono - https://www.mono-project.com/docs/about-mono/supported-platforms/macos/
Open Visual Studio for Mac (on mac)
Open XCode (mac)
Connect To mac through Visual Studio
After that I stopped getting the connection error.
I know this isn't your exact question, but maybe it can help someone in the future.
I experienced the same problem when trying to debug practically any app in VS Mac. I am now using 2022 and the same issue persisted since using 2019. If trying to debug your code locally, what you can do is to run your app first without debugging. Then, attach the debugger to the executed process. So, if your web app is executing in let's say, "Chrome", then search for that process, usually, it will be the name of your app (it's a dotnet process), then simply attach the debugger to it. Then, you should be able to set breakpoints and hit them.
Hope this will help anyone working with VS for Mac.
Can I compile Microsoft Cognitive Toolkit 2.0 RC3 (CNTK) with VS 2017 Preview?
VS2017 does not work.
CNTK needs VS2015 update 3.
2015-1 or 2 also does not work.
Installation takes time so better to check.
To check Visual studio version
click Help => About Visual studio.
I don't think anyone has tried. It's probably OK, except if you want to compile the GPU stuff. Nvidia is currently not listing Visual Studio 2017 as a supported platform.
So I have a program I've been making in VB for my company through Visual Studio 2013 Express for Desktop and have not worked on it in a couple of months. When I try to open it, I get the following error:
"The VB project "WindowsApplication1" is targeting ".NETFramework,Version=4.5" which is not installed on this machine."

I have all of the .NET frameworks installed including all developer and service packs (even language packs). I uninstalled all .NET frameworks and re-installed each of them without any resolution.
I tried to re-install Visual Studio and even tried changing the Framework (one of the options I have) but I cannot view any code or open designer view if I do so. (http://imageshack.com/a/img633/2109/OJaXbr.png)
The strange thing is this computer is the same one I have been developing this application on for months, so I'm not sure what happened over the last 60 days since I launched it.
Does anyone have any clues as to how I can resolve this issue?
Thanks in advance,
Matt
The path to your project must be Les then 256 Character.
That can be the reason of it.
Make sure the path is short "Copy the project to your c drive "C:\ProjectFolder" and try again".
I am getting a few errors trying to download the new VS2012. Its a fresh install of windows 8 (did the windows update). I have tried not selecting all (no C++, lightswitch, blend, office tools)
I tried different mounting tools for the .ISO but no luck. VS2010 is still working. Running x86. Log file
Errors:
Critical: Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 x86 Minimum Runtime - 11.0.507 Cannot find the requested object.
Microsoft Visual Studio 2012 Pre-Clean Tool Cannot find the requested object
Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 x86 Additional Runtime - 11.0.507 Cannot find the requested object.
Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 Core Libraries, Team Foundation Server 2012, Microsoft Framework 4.5 Multi-Targeting pack.... and a few other ones cannot be found. Thanks!
Downloaded the web installer, and that seemed to work. It seems that the iso was corrupted as the MD5 did not match.
I have to maintain an old Compact Framework application written for Windows CE 4.1 in Visual Studio 2003 (sigh!). It's the German localized version of Visual Studio 2003.
Every time i start a debug session in the WinCE emulator, I get this message on the virtual device:
"Microsoft .NET CF 1.0 DE-String ist
bereits installiert. Möchten Sie
erneut installieren?"
which translated into English means:
"Microsoft .NET CF 1.0 DE-String is
already installed. Do you want to
re-install it?"
After clicking "OK" the app runs normally, but it is very annoying havong to click this every time I test the application. Is there a solution for this?
Thanks!
You want to turn off deploying the compact framework to the mobile device when deploying. This is an option that you can turn off in your project properties menu on the devices tab that will stop this from happening each time.
