Where can I store code for Events? VB.NET - vb.net

I'm a relatively new programmer, using VB.NET 2017.
I'm making a business application which stores a user's information, for them to then log in with, and allow them to purchase products or book services.
A lot of my controls have some random events tied to them (like an image having a "MouseHover" event), and they're really building up and making the code look unorganised: Chunk of event stuff. Can I throw these chunks of code into a storage place somewhere away from my main code?

Getting started creating a web form in Microsoft Teams

I dont know where to begin. Do I need to create an app? Do I need to use bots? I have tried finding docs online but don't know where to start. Any help with be appreciated.
I am trying to create a small form in a teams channel that my users will fill out.
User enters #projects
Web server responds with
User clicks submit and data gets posted to my web server.
You're correct that there are a few different kinds of applications in Teams, so finding the one that suits your needs can be a little confusing at first. For what you're trying to do, I would recommend a Bot, and when it received a message (which it will do when it receives your #mention), it can respond with an Adaptive Cards. Adaptive Cards, if you've not used them, are like small embedded forms inside the chat. The user can complete the card and click a button, and it will send the payload back to your bot to do whatever it needs.
Bots, incidentally, are basically just web services, so your bot can do whatever it needs once it received the payload, such as calling another API in turn.
You haven't mentioned what language you might want to work in, but here are some good starting point nevertheless:
https://dev.botframework.com/
https://github.com/microsoft/BotBuilder-Samples/tree/main/samples
https://github.com/microsoft/BotBuilder-Samples/tree/main/samples/csharp_dotnetcore/57.teams-conversation-bot (I've linked the C# version - you should know that Teams bots use the same Microsoft framework as -all- bots build for the Microsoft world, such as web chat bot or a Skype bot. As a result, you have to ensure that anything you look at is applicable to Teams as some content/samples are not)
https://adaptivecards.io/ (as with Bots, Adaptive Cards have a life outside of Teams, so some articles/content/etc. might not be applicable to your scenario)

Tracking object's location in Objective C (How to prevent program from quitting)

Let's say I wanted to track the location of my car as I drive around the city, just for kicks.
I have an old iphone 5, so I write up a little program using Parse.com framework, and using geopoints easily construct a little collection of data which I save to my cloud server. Piece of cake, right?
Well, my question is this: I put the phone on the seat after I begin to run the program. How do I ensure that the phone does not go to sleep? And what happens to my program if the app goes to sleep/quits? And how would I prevent this, if such a thing might occur?
Read about Apple's "Background Execution" abilities. A great example of this is Spotify: users can select a song, change apps, and put their phone to sleep. All the while Spotify continues to play that song.
In your case it sounds like you want location tracking, most likely using the "Significant-change location service". Using the location framework with background execution enabled will allow your application to save those geo-points to Parse at specific, distance-triggered points, even if the application is in the background or the phone's asleep.

How to fill in VB form and send data to website fields

i once saw a friend of mine whom was very good at visual basics and asp as well as c#. At the time i had no need to learn VB as i found php enough for my needs. While now since ive been in developing for a longer time i see why people use c#. It has its special place. My question relates to one of these special cases.
However i need your help to figure out how it was done.
What my friend did:
I had a wordpress site at the time. Because of our clients, we didnt want them to login backend and fill in the fields in the CMS. We wanted a deployed executable exe that the clients could install on pc and fill in the required data in simple forms that wont confuse them. Once the form was complete they would post the data to the wordpress cms in the background not visible to them. Using a webbrowser in the exe is what i recall my friend doing.
What i want to do:
I want clients to fill run an exe. They would then need to add login details to validate themselves. Once they logged in i want a very simple form that provides the necessary fields that the cms needs to fill in which will complete the post needed to render their page or profile on the actual website. In other words i want VB to connect to my website from a exe using forms to fill in data rather than going to the cms on a normal chrome or explorer browser.
I know you wondering why i want this. It seems like one hell of a work around. Well im a php developer whom needs a exe. I want to be able to package the exe physically in our portfolio when we hand it to clients. It becomes part of our presentation and welcome pack when joining out system.
This will help us when it comes to clients whom are not able to navigate a complex cms. If we make the cms to simple and old fashioned ( what clients generally are used to ) then we would have developed an outdated application in 2015 haha. Hence we want the best cms with modern features for the future, yet still need the old fashioned forms and simple structured date capturing clients are used to.
What you can help me with:
If i had a login, title and mobile number as the fields in my cms. The title had an ID named title and mobile number has an ID named Mobile. How can i do exactly what my friend did to login, and fill out forms then post the filled out form to my website cms that makes the post live. Please assist,:)
Kind regards
Basic solution will be using a webbrowser control with visibility=hidden. Now Just change the value of some elements and invoke submit(). If you can't understand i will explain in details.

creating movie template "on the fly"

i want to develop a site where user selects various videos and site will render a single video containing all videos in a pre-built template.
what would be the way to go about this (in order to create the movie dynamically from site) ?
what would be the server side framework to use ?
can i use after-effects and have site use it to generate such templates (optional - as i have a friend who works with after effects and can create templates) ?
as i am fairly new to the field any additional information is welcomed.
I'm no expert, but I'm pretty sure you can't do what you described.
Rendering a video consumes huge resources (really huge), so a server park that could
handle this is just not worth it.
However, what you can do is to play the selected videos consecutively. That way, no rendering is necessary.
Also, forget about After Effects, for the same reasons described above.
You can achieve what you want by using a new plugin for After Effects called Templater Bot. From Dataclay's site:
Templater Bot is an enterprise solution for custom video on demand. It works as an automated system. Use it to periodically check for incoming data, pull new data in, and render video as a background process. Or use the command line interface to push data in to create new renders. Once your AE project is prepared, use Bot to customize and render it without operating the After Effects user interface. Developers can create front end applications, such as web or mobile apps, that feed data into Templater's data source, offering a collaborative, custom video content creation solution.

how to get embedded flash movie to communicate with .net winforms app

Hi I've used the shockwave flash com object to embed my flash file. I have buttons you can click on within the flash movie. Is it possible to get flash to notify my winform app which button has been pressed. It's developed using actionscript3. I'm using the latest vb.Net.
You can either use FSCommand, or use ExternalInterface. The later is better, although it may be harder to understand at first because of the format it uses, although if you've already solved the CallFunction (or SendFunction?) method argument, it's the same.
There are documentation and a sample C# project in Adobe's site, but I don't know the exact URL.
EDIT: To catch FSCommand and ExternalInterface calls there are two events you can subscribe to.
Also, you could also use sockets (either binary or XML).
That's a very open question as there would be many ways to do this depending on how your website and winforms applications are setup.
My initial suggestion would be to have your flash movie call some client side javascript on the button clicks. The javascript could post to a .Net SOAP webservice for instance which logs the button interaction to an associated database. Then your winforms application could finally check the database for the presence of new button click records.
This is just one high level suggestion based on the very high level question asked. If there's more specific information available then this can be refined.
Brian.
