I am a novice at Etheuerm. I want to know how to access external data sources such as MySQL or excel through chainlink instead of webpages

Welcome to the amazing Ethereum world :)
Chainlink is a flexible framework that can retrieve data from any API and connect with existing systems.
I like the examples that the Chainlink website present when you scroll down, how to get weather data or sports data, for example. It is connecting with API in the external world.
So in you case, you need to create an API to connect with your data sources, like MySQL or excel.
Here you can get more info how to call any external API
It is not necessary a webpage, but you will make a GET request to a service that you will create.

I want to make an app for gamers that uses statistics from the games they play. I want to link Riot/ubisoft/steam/epic games/ account to my app and use the user's game data (with permission of-course). Is there a way to access that information? I was not able to find much on my own. Steam has web apis that might be able to get that information but I don't understand how much information I can get from there as well.
You need to use one of their internal APIs. Ubisoft uses its own demux API. There are several examples on GitHub on how to do that. In my case ,I am grabbing data from tracker.gg and Ubisoft. Here's a repo for my API Server .

I really hope you can help me. I have a project to create an app. I will use Power apps, Python and JavaScript. I need to be in it, because I am not. So my first step is create an API, I have decided to use Azure Function I can explain why. It helps connect my Power Apps(frontend, where i am going to use JavaScript) to backend(Python).
So I have absolutely nothing and I have decided to create an API with Azure Functions, the truth is i dont really know how it works. I can connect it with VScode, but the main question how to create own API? I dont need to pay for servis because I have an Azure Functions which is paid. But I dont really understand how API has too look. I have find a lot information but i cant connect it with what I need.
I need to write my own code for API? Like from empty file? Can do it in VS code and connect it with Azure Functions? What has to be in API I mean my own piece of code or something another? Have anyone created his own API in Azure Functions?
thank you for answering my stupid questions
You can create the Http Trigger in Azure Function if your own API works on HTTP protocol and modify the default Http Trigger API Code according to your requirement.
If your API contains 3rd party APIs, you can create the Http client inside the function code for sending HTTP requests on to the available 3rd party APIs in your function code.
There are plenty of articles on connecting the Azure Functions to Power BI Apps where you can write your own AP code using REST API signature following swagger and add that custom API in Power Apps.
Refer to this article that provides the use case of connect the Azure Function with custom API Code to Power App, given by Carlos Aguilar.
I am currently trying to connect a community connector (apps script) to GA4 in order to retrieve data and modify it before sending it to data studio. I have done this for Universal Analytics properties easily with advanced services; However, Since the Advanced services Analytics option does not work for GA4 properties I have been looking into retrieving data from analytics using fetchUrl. I am wondering if this is the best/only way to connect to GA4?
I have received input for my current code (basic fetchUrl code) which suggested that I would need to access the cloud api for authentication. Now I am wondering if I actually have to do these extra steps to connect to a google source from app script? The reason why I am unsure is because supermetrics has a GA4 connector which does not require any extra steps and of course connects to a GA4 property with a simple authentication method. I would like to essentially create that same connection in app script. Any advice would also be appreciated.
Also I would love to hear if there is any information on when we can expect advanced services to work for GA4.
Currently you will need to use the new Google Analytics Data API (GA4), however in this moment it is an early preview version of the API and is subject to change.
I don't know what the supermetrics plugin does specifically, however i recommend to link the automatic export of GA4 data in BigQuery and connect to it.
Google has not released any deadline for the release of this advanced service. I believe that before this it will have to make this whole new system stable since every week it undergoes updates and adjustments.
I'm trying to build a data collection web endpoint. The Use case is similar to Google Analytics collect API. I want to add this endpoint(GET method) to all pages on the website and on-page load collect page info through this API.
Actually I'm thinking of doing this by using Google Cloud services like Endpoints, BQ(for storing the data).. I don't want to host it in any dedicated servers. Otherwise, I will be end up doing a lot for managing/monitoring the service.
Please suggest me how do I achieve this with Google Cloud Service? OR direct me to right direction if my idea is wrong
I suggest focussing on deciding where you want to code to run. There are several GCP options that don't require dedicated servers:
Google App Engine
Cloud Functions/Firebase Functions
Cloud Run (new!)
Look here to see which support Cloud Endpoints.
All of these products can support running code that takes the data from the request and sends it to the BigQuery API.
There are various ways of achieving what you want. David's answer is absolutely valid, but I would like to introduce Stackdriver Custom Metrics to the discussion.
Custom metrics are similar to regular Stackdriver Monitoring metrics, but you create your own time series (Stackdriver lingo described here) to keep track of whatever you want and clients can sent in their data through an API.
You could achieve the same thing with a compute solution (Google Cloud Functions for example) and a database (Google BigTable for example) and writing your own logic.. but Custom Metrics is an already built solution that includes dashboards and alerting policies while being a more managed solution.
There are companies out there that claim to "integrate" data into GA. I know some phone call tracking companies in particular. Is there a way that they are uploading data to GA through the API or are they using some other method that doesn't require that?
There is no upload mechanism into Google Analytics besides manual __utm.gif calls like in the browser. Both Google Analytics APIs (Data Export and Management) are completely Read-Only.
There are a few ways these solutions work, but one of them is to generate a unique identifier for the person calling in to give the person on the other line. That code is linked to their referral information (grabbing from the cookies). Another solution is to have the customer manually input their phone number. That phone number is then dialed by the software and connected to the live person, and in the background the phone number is linked to the source information from the cookies.
Then, the person receiving the call either inputs the code it into the system, or automatically has the user's information, and at the completion of the call, depending on how it is resolved, can generate things like e-commerce transactions or particular pageviews for Goals, so it can generate __utm.gif calls with the relevant campaign and user data appended. As far as Google Analytics is concerned, the request formed is the same user. The only thing that will be different is the User Location (which is fairly inaccurate to begin with.)
ie, if I take the __utm.gif call from my computer, paste it to you, and you click it, Google will see that as an another pageview on this visit, and for most purposes ignore that the differing locations.
Well, Google Analytics works off the a tracking GIF with all kinds of data appended to it, so it can certainly be reproduced by these phone call tracking folks without a problem.
Phone call comes, request the 1x1.gif from google with tracking data suiting your needs, and the hit+data will soon register on GA.

There are several options to send tracking data to Google analytics.
Use a library which implements the ga.js script server-side
When you use Google Analytics in the way described by Google, you include a script on your website. This script sends data from the visitors browser to the Google Analytics server.
This script has been reverse engineered and implemented in server-side libraries. Now you can send the same data from the server to the Google Analytics server. You can use PHP-GA for PHP or pyga for Python.
Use the Google Analytics measurement protocol
The Google Analytics measurement protocol is a new API to send data to Google Analytics. You can send data by sending POST requests to the API.
