Intellij - Unable to clone the repository "Clone Failed - Unable to access '<<repo url >> ': Recv failure: Connection was reset - intellij-idea

I am trying to clone a repository using IntelliJ. I am very new to IntelliJ. I am able to clone the repository using eclipse though.
In eclipse (Git Repositories view), I am asked to provide credentials to access company's GIT Server but not sure where to provide these in Intelli J. I know I can login to GitHub account through IntelliJ but I am trying to access the repo which is in company's GIT server.
Please point out what wrong I am doing and guide me.
In IntelliJ, these are steps I am following.
Go for File -> New -> Project from Version Control
Select Repository URL and enter the values for fields URL and Directory. Click on Clone.
Here's the error snapshot

For future references to anyone having this same problem, copying the code url instead of ssh from github would solve this issue.

How to connect a project from IDEA to Gitlab

Is it possible to connect a project from IDEA to Gitlab?
There are no problems with GitHub, you specify a github account, then VCS-> Import into and it creates a project in your account. But with GitLab I don't see such a possibility. Maybe there is some way?
Or just manually throw it in there?
If all you want to do is create a project, that is as simple as pushing the repo. In GitLab, you don't have to create the project in the UI first. You can simply push directly to a project namespace that does not yet exist. The project will be created when you push to it.
Therefore, all you have to do is configure your git remote per usual, then push.
git init
git checkout -b main
echo "# My Project" > README.md
git add README.md
git commit -m "initial commit"
git push --set-upstream git#gitlab.com:namespace/myproject.git main
Then you'll see the message from the remote in the git console log
remote: The private project namespace/myproject was created.
In the JetBrains IDEs, you can simply configure the remote and push.
You only have define the remote ahead of time in the terminal. For example:
git remote add origin git#gitlab.com:namespace/project
Then in the IDE, when you go to push, you'll see the ability to push to the new remote/branch.
Then you'll also note in the git tab console you'll see the message from the remote that the project has been created.
Full integration for GitLab hasn't been implemented yet, but there is a feature request for that:
https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/IDEA-109294
Meanwhile, you can create a repository in GitLab, then press Cmd/Ctrl+K and Click "Commit and push". In Push dialog there will be "Define remote" button - click on it and paste URL to GitLab's repository.
If it's HTTPS then you'll be prompted with username and password - enter them, alternatively you can enter Username and Personal access token (in password field)

nodeclipse editbox plugin - unable to install

I have updated eclipse to 4.10 (2018-12/R), the cpp package
Running under ubuntu 18.04.
I tried to add nodeclipse editbox using the marketplace, but it cannot find the plugin.
Then tried the option help-install New Software, adding the repository provided in the github site (https://github.com/Nodeclipse/EditBox), as
http://nodeclipse.github.io/dev.updates/editbox-1.0.0/
But I always get this error:
An error occurred while collecting items to be installed
session context was:(profile=epp.package.cpp, phase=org.eclipse.equinox.internal.p2.engine.phases.Collect, operand=, action=).
Unable to read repository at http://nodeclipse.github.io/dev.updates/editbox-1.0.0/plugins/pm.eclipse.editbox_1.0.0.201804021412.jar.
Connection reset
I have searched for the whole morning, and cannot find any reference to the possible cause of this error.
Any pointer will be appreciated
OK, looks like I solved it. Recording it here in case others come looking.
The problem was in the server that cut the file download midway.
So using the information in the error message, I was able to download and install directly the plugin. I did:
cd /opt/eclipse/plugins - To get the download directly into the plugin folder
Then used wget to download the folder directly:
wget http://nodeclipse.github.io/dev.updates/editbox-1.0.0/plugins/pm.eclipse.editbox_1.0.0.201804021412.jar
Restarted eclipse, and voila! It was working.
Simpler than I thougth.

Build from external GIT repo located in networkshare

I have problem to create service connection under TFS2015 Update2.
I have GIT remote REPO located in server and i access it by network share folder in this format:
\\server\GIT_REPOS\GIT_REPO_TO_BUILD_FROM\
I tried add new External GIT REPO Connection under TFS configuration as follow:
Connection name: Git repo
Server url: \\server\GIT_REPOS\GIT_REPO_TO_BUILD_FROM\
UserName: domain\username
Password: userPassword
When I try queue new build i get this error:
Failed to resolve path 'file://server/GIT_REPOS/GIT_REPO_TO_BUILD_FROM/': The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect.
Prepare repository failed with exception.
Know someone correct way how to use it with network shared REPO ?
Thanks for help a lot.
According to website https://git-scm.com/book/ch4-1.html, Git supports Local protocol and can use the path to the repository as the URL, but in TFS build, local path isn't supported (I got the same error as you).
As an alternate, you need to publish your repo to a server. Meanwhile, you may consider submit a UserVoice at website https://visualstudio.uservoice.com/forums/121579-visual-studio-2015 to specify the requirement of supporting local git.

Xcode: Could not read from remote repository

I am trying to connect Xcode with Git (Bitbucket).
I read this question/"tutorial":
In XCode 4 how do I add a remote GitHub repository to an existing local project?
I follow all steps but I have a problem.
In Xcode 4.6.1 I always obtain this error:
"fatal "my_Repo" does not appear to be a git repository fatal: Could not read from remote repository."
What can I do? I am very noob with XCode.
Thanks!
This is usually linked to the Bitbucket url you are using for your remote repo.
I prefer using at first an https url (not a git one, or an ssh one), as listed in this BitBucket doc page:
https://accountname#bitbucket.org/accountname/reponame.git
Make sure your repo name and user name are correct, including their case.
The problem is on Xcode, at the moment to make the "Push". Xcode always shows: "Commit or discard the changes and try again." And isn´t true, there aren´t changes
As in this answer, you need to add and commit at least one change in order to be able to push.
The OP Kaisser mentions this tutorial "12 steps to using GitHub with XCode 4".
What he did was:
create an empty project and make the commit and the push, all OK.
Then, I copied my current project and renamed it
I am seeing a similar issue, starting today. I haven't made any commits or pushes to my BitBucket repo in about 2 months, but I never had issues before. XCode is now telling me that the repository "could not be reached" and to "Please verify that the repository is online and reachable and try again". I can commit from the command line. I wonder if this is an XCode 4.6.1 bug?
PS - not sure if I put this in the right place. I've never posted on SO. Correct me if I did this wrong!

Unable to use egit to clone a repository with ssh

I try to clone a GIT repository with EGit using SSH. I can log on to the machine, see the available branches and choose where to put everything locally. Then when I proceed to actually do the cloning, I get an Eclipse "Problem Occured" box stating:
"Cloning from ssh://[my user name]#[my address] has encountered a problem. ssh://[my user name]#[my address]: Password:". The details for the problem only list "ssh://[my user name]#[my address]: Password:" twice.
The only possible reason I can think of, might be that on the remote compute only Git 1.6.0.x is installed - and I don't have the rights to update it.
Can you clone the repository using native git? If you can do that, just clone it using native git and then import the project into eclipse using:
File -> Import -> Projects from Git -> Local
If your eclipse runs on Windows, you will need a linux machine (virtual machine will do) and clone the repo into a NTFS or Fat32 formatted storage. Then you will be able to copy the cloned repo into your git folder on the windows machine.
