After a machine restart last night my WSLTTY/MINTTY terminal crashes when I attempt to launch it. It displays an error message briefly before it crashes that reads:
note: backend error output: Assertion failed: connectRet == 0 (nix-sock.c: nix_local_connect: 67)
I'm on Windows 10, using WSL1, not WSL 2. I uninstalled WSLTTY and re-installed the most recent version, 3.5.1. The issue remained. I then uninstalled Ubuntu and re-installed the most recent version, 20.04.03 LTS. The issue still remains. I also tried installing an older version of WSLTTY/MINTTY (1.7.9) and received a slightly different error:
/bin/wslbridge: Exit 1 wslbridge error: failed to start backend process note: backend error output: wslbridge=backend.cc:44: int{anonymous}:: connectsocket(int const string &): Assertion 'connectRet==0' failed
So it seems the issue may have something to do with something called the wslbridge? Looks like there is an original version and a second version. wslbridge2.exe and wslbridge2-backend both live in wsltty/bin/ (with the newest version of WSLTTY/MINTTY).
I had WSLTTY/MINTTY configured pretty heavily and really enjoyed the way I had it set up. I'm really hoping I can get it working again and don't have to switch to a different terminal emulator or use the Windows one. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm doing this:

Summary
Like all Perl 5 or Perl 6 packages, the Selenium::WebDriver package includes a suite of tests that check that it appears to work properly on your system.1 This test suite gets run at the end of installation, i.e. the installer downloads the package, runs its builder code and only then runs its test suite. If there's an error, then (by default2) the installer displays error information and exits immediately. That's what it's done in your case.
The current Selenium::WebDriver package was successfully installing 2 months ago complete with the message showing success on an Ubuntu for the same test that is a fail on your system. Then again, a search of the #perl6 logs for 'selenium' suggests that there may be an intermittent error with one of the modules that Selenium::WebDriver uses; this may indeed be the root of the problem.
The README of the repo for Selenium::WebDriver begins with a link to a document that says the protocol it describes is "obsolete". The most recent item in the issue queue of the Selenium::WebDriver repo is titled "Add support for Firefox Marionette WebDriver". Please consider adding a comment to that issue pointing to this SO question if you think it's relevant.
If you look at the error messages you'll see a Firefox test failed. One possibility is that there's an error in Firefox, or some related software, beyond official latest arch linux.
Some plausibly simple responses to the Firefox error message:
Try manually loading Firefox before trying to install the Perl 6 package. Does that fix the problem?
I don't know what options you have for making the Selenium::WebDriver package not see your Firefox other than completely uninstalling it, but maybe you can do that? Then try installing again (and the package will presumably then test/use, say, Chrome instead of Firefox).
If that doesn't work, consider posting a new Selenium::WebDriver repo issue (and link to this SO question).
The top level error message is "Cannot obtain a session after 10 attempts". It's generated by line 66 of the package's lib/Selenium/WebDriver/Wire.pm6 file. I don't think that line helps much in this case but imo it's always worth taking at least a quick glance at the source code corresponding to error messages.
Looking at the next level down we see the error comes from "t/05-firefox.t line 45" which is my $driver = Selenium::WebDriver::Firefox.new;. It looks like it's trying to connect to Firefox and failing. Looking further up in that test script one can see that it thinks it found Firefox on your system (because the code block in unless which('firefox') { ... } clearly didn't trigger).
The deepest part of the error information shows that a "Javascript error" has been encountered, something to do with nsIAppStartup.trackStartupCrashEnd.
Often a problem is specific to the versions of software involved. The Selenium::WebDriver package version is clearly 0.0.1 but it would be nice to see the version info from the other main pieces involved including your Perl 6 compiler (perl 6 -V iirc), the installer (zef -V iirc), and your OS and Firefox. In this particular case I'm pretty sure the problem is not in your Perl 6 compiler (Rakudo) nor in the installer (zef) but I might be wrong and I still recommend you always consider including generous version info when you post your first version of a question.
1 The test suite for the Selenium::WebDriver package work as per Perl 6 testing guidelines in general and per the Testing section of the Selenium::WebDriver's repo README in particular.
2 You can usually force Perl installers to continue regardless if you know an error doesn't matter in your case. I think it's -force-test to force zef to continue testing rather than stop after the first error and -force-install to complete the install despite errors.
I am trying to run nvprof with cifar10_multigpu_train.py.
I am using following command
/home/ibm/tensorflow/third_party/gpus/cuda/bin/nvprof python cifar10_multi_gpu_train.py
It starts the application but after sometime it shows following errors and application exits.
==140659== Warning: Some profiling data are not recorded. Make sure cudaProfilerStop() or cuProfilerStop() is called before application exit to flush profile data.
======== Error: Application received signal 11
Any idea whats going wrong. File runs just fine without using nvprof.
Note: I have 0.12.0 version installed and I am on IBM PPC64le machine.
I am tying to work/setup the Systemtap tool for profiling OS procesess, on a Virtual Linux. I am using VirtualBox to run the image. Via
rpm -q kernel
and
cat /proc/version
The version obtained is:
Linux version 2.6.32-5-686 (Debian 2.6.32-48squeeze4)
I have correctly downloaded and installed the tool and wrote a simple program (.stp). However I keep getting the same error, which I have searched information in many places without success:
After executing:
sudo stap my_profiler.stp
I get:
semantic error: libdwfl failure (all kernel modules found): no error
Pass 3: translation failed. Try again with another '--vp 001' option.
According to https://sourceware.org/systemtap/SystemTap_Beginners_Guide/errors.html
semantic error: libdwfl failure
There was a problem processing the debugging information. In most cases, this error results from the installation of a kernel-debuginfo package whose version does not match the probed kernel exactly. The installed kernel-debuginfo package itself may have some consistency or correctness problems.
I have found no relevant information on the "kernel-debuginfo" package. I have also tried the verbose option without benefit. I even tried with an old Snapshot of the VM. Any ideas?
The code of the .stp program I ran:
probe timer.profile{
printf("Process: %s\n", execname())
printf("Process ID: %d\n", pid())
}
Found the problem!!!! It seemed that I was using the wrong version of the Linux Kernel. I was using the default kernel supplied by the version I wrote in the question. It seems that that version (the 2.6.32-5-686 one) has problems with the debug-info so all I did was try the same with another version (the Linux version 3.9.6 with gcc version 4.7.2 Debian 4.7.2-5) and it worked without trouble :)
I've been using elementary OS 0.3 Freya (64-bit) built on Ubuntu 14.04
When I tried to open Software Updater its showing Failed to download repository information
and when I tried to run
sudo apt-get update
this is what it prints:
W: Failed to fetch http://in.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/trusty/Release Unable to find expected entry 'restricted/source/Sources' in Release file (Wrong sources.list entry or malformed file)
E: Some index files failed to download. They have been ignored, or old ones used instead.
I donno whats the problem and I cann't find a solution for this while I googled it.
From what I've read on the issue, one of the repositories has failed. Maybe try removing them one at a time and see if you can find the offending one.
Edit the ppa's and change freya to trusty. Not sure if this is the ideal solution, but it fixes it.
I removed Chrome download/update from the download list and changed the Ubuntu Software Settings in column 1 to Download from main server. It did the download and update this way.
I was trying to inject code into the Finder process using mach_inject . I am currently using given the source given here
The code seems to get the PID of the finder process correctly. There is a bundle mach_inject_bundle which is to be injected.
The following error comes every time I run the injector.
mach_inject failing.. (os/kern) invalid address
error: (os/kern) invalid address
I am running the build using sudo from the terminal. I am using Snow Leopard MAC OS X 10.6.8.
I found some similar issues reported by others here . But no solution seems to work.
Can someone please help me out ??
Thanks
In the Architectures setting for the project just set x86_64.
