calling values in a database using column name in sqlite - sql

I have a sqlite database with rows of planets name and column having the mass, radius and so on.
Is there a way to call the mass of earth in the form as Earth.mass or something similar in python?
I have very little knowledge of SQL as I have just started out learning SQL just for this project, so sorry if this is a silly question.

The Python SQLite module has a connection object that has a row factory attribute. But don't just blindly copy the example given! Instead, follow their advice, and use the provided Row class.

JOIN with a dataset

I am very new to Superset and SQL in general, please excuse my poor language as well.
General question: How do I use an existing superset dataset in a sql query?
Case: I am trying to create a map based on german postal codes. Therefor I need to join that table with a translation table containing german postal code to JSON coordinates. The translation table is in another database than the german postal codes are. I am constantly trying to JOIN these both together, but it does not work. I assume you can only work with the data from one single database at once. Is it possible to create datasets with the needed data and reuse these datasets in a sql query? I tried this, but I dont know how to access these. When using data on a database I would write:
Select * from database.table
To access a superset dataset in my query:
Select * from dataset (how it is named in the superset dataset list)
which does not work at all.
I am desperatly trying to solve this problem but I am just not able to.
Thanks for your help in advance.
In Superset's SQL Lab, you can run pretty much any valid SQL query that your database accepts. The query will more / less be sent to your database and the results displayed to you in the results panel. So you can run JOIN queries in SQL Lab, for example.
If you want to visualize data from the results of a SQL Query, hit the "Explore" button after running the query. Then, you'll be asked to publish the query you wrote & ran as a Virtual Dataset. Finally, you'll be taken to the Explore, no-code chart builder to visualize your data.
I wrote a bit more about the semantic layer in Superset here, if you'd like to learn more: https://preset.io/blog/understanding-superset-semantic-layer/

How to execute a sql query in jscript/jscript.NET

First at all sorry for my English, this is not my native language. So.
I want to execute a SQL query in a script to get some data. I don't know if it's possible and if so, how to make it. To summarize :
The script add a button in M3 Smart Office (a ERP). I already done that.
When i select a row in a M3 function (like an article, or a client) i want to take and send his ID (and some other data) to a website.
They're is a lot of function in M3. In each function, they're are some field who contains a data. One of them contain the ID of the object (An article, a client,...). What i want to do, is to get this ID. The problem is that the field who contains the ID doesn't have the same name in all the function. So, i have two solutions :
Do a lot of if/elseif. Like "if it's such function, take such field". But if I (or somebody else) want to add a combination function/field later i (or somebody else ;) )need to do that in the script. It's not practical.
Create a sql table wich contain all the combination function/field. Then is the script, i do a sql query and i get all the data that the script need.
So here the situation. Maybe you have ideas to do that otherwise (without sql) and i take it !

DataBase design for store anketing data

my English is not well, so sorry for it.
I want to write the web-app for anketing. I mean, that it must be a site, where user may give answers on different questions. For example, it can be question with text type of answer, or checkbox, or lookup (comboBox).
And my problem is in data base architecture. I read a lot about Entity Attribute Value db pattern, One True Lookup Table I also read. But these patterns has problem (with ms sql) when building a sql-query for data selecting (report).
I hope somebody give me a good suggestion, and tell, what can I do with this proplem.
Thanks!
Almost everything can be represented as a string. Why not store a string in the database e.g. Text Type Answer or "true" "false" or ComboBox Value etc. Then simply convert the value from the database if necessary at runtime or in SQL if writing a query?
I feel Entity Attribute Value pattern is meant more for Entities which can have dynamic fields added etc, not so much for the problem you've posed here.
If necessary you could also add an additional column to the database table to specify the "type" of data being stored. You could then use that column to base your query convert statements on etc.

How to insert array to Firebird table field using sql?

I have that table:
create table t_place(
f_plc_timefrom time,
f_plc_timeto time,
f_plc_minute_cost Decimal(18,4)[24]
);
So, I can create array field, but I don't know, how can I fill in this array field in SQL code. I tryed to find way in many sources, but I could find nothing. I need your help.
AFAIK one can work with arrays only via API, there is no SQL syntax for that.
There is virtually no array support in Firebird in the query and procedural language. As ain says there is only some support via the API. Removal of the array functionality is on the table as well. See also ticket CORE-710.

How to get multi row data of one column to one row of one Column

I need to get data in multiple row of one column.
For example data from that format
ID Interest
Sports
Cooking
Movie
Reading
to that format
ID Interest
Sports,Cooking
Movie,Reading
I wonder that we can do that in MS Access sql. If anybody knows that, please help me on that.
Take a look at Allen Browne's approach: Concatenate values from related records
As for the normalization argument, I'm not suggesting you store concatenated values. But if you want to join them together for display purposes (like a report or form), I don't think you're violating the rules of normalization.
This is called de-normalizing data. It may be acceptable for final reporting. Apparently some experts believe it's good for something, as seen here.
(Mind you, kevchadder's question is right on.)
Have you looked into the SQL Pivot operation?
Take a look at this link:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms177410.aspx
Just noticed you're using access. Take a look at this article:
http://www.blueclaw-db.com/accessquerysql/pivot_query.htm
This is nothing you should do in SQL and it's most likely not possible at all.
Merging the rows in your application code shouldn't be too hard.
