Selenium - Unable to start server with either IPv4 or IPv6. Exiting

I'm trying to open chromedriver.exe but I'm given this error message:
"Unable to start server with either ipv4 or ipv6. Exiting.."
I tried the following but didn't work:
Tried opening the chromedriver using a specific port that is has no process connected to it.
Downloaded chromedriver to be the same version of chrome browser.
Restarted the machine and try opening the driver again.
Notes:
The driver starts but rarely. I took the port that it once started using it and tried to open it again using this specific port but it didn't start.
I tried IE driver as well and the same issue occured.

This error message...

...implies that the ChromeDriver was unable to initiate/spawn a new Browsing Context i.e. Chrome Browser session.
Possibly your main issue is the incompatibility between the version of the binaries you are using as the ChromeDriver version is not getting detected:
Driver info: driver.version: unknown
Solution
Ensure that:
ChromeDriver is updated to current ChromeDriver v96.0 level.
Chrome is updated to current chrome=96.0.4664.45 (as per chrome=96.0.4664.45 release notes).

I am facing an issue with a test with selenium, my tests cannot connect to the server "Connection refused". I manually installed Selenium and its chromedriver with my circle.yml. I'm running tests with Behat on a Symfony application.

16:02:34.143 WARN - Exception: Connection refused
My tests are running on Behat (v3) with Mink extension (v2.2) and Mink Selenium driver (v1.3).
Also, tests are passing on my own machine. I'm on Windows so we cannot compare, but at least I think it's not my own test code that is failing.
I'm running out of idea. It should be working pretty straightforward but I can't make it work. Internet is no help on this so far.
Thanks for any insight!
OK I've found the issues:
I was using an old version of Selenium. Upgrading to 3.3 did the trick. I was not aware the version 3 existed at all.
When executing Selenium3, be careful of the order of the arguments: java -jar selenium-server-standalone.jar -Dwebdriver.chrome.driver=chromedriver must become java -Dwebdriver.chrome.driver=chromedriver -jar selenium-server-standalone.jar

Selenium not launching properly on Ubuntu 15.10

I'm trying to get started with selenium.
I installed it with sudo npm install selenium-standalone#latest -g. Then I installed Java with sudo apt-get install default-jre. The command java -version now says:
java version "1.7.0_101"
OpenJDK Runtime Environment (IcedTea 2.6.6) (7u101-2.6.6-0ubuntu0.15.10.1)
OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (build 24.95-b01, mixed mode)
Finally completed the selenium installation with: sudo selenium-standalone install. When I now try to start Selenium with the command: selenium-standalone start, I get the following messages:

I don't care about the missing Firefox and Internet Explorer drivers as I'm trying to use Selenium with Chromium.
If I now point Chromium to: http://127.0.0.1:4444/wd/hub, I see a webpage with an empty list of sessions and a button "Create session". If I click that button and select "Chrome" as my browser, I get the error Unable to create new sesssion and the following messages on the console:

I then tried running a jasmine-based test, which but yields roughly the same messages on the console. Interestingly, jasmine does launch Chromium but immediately closes it.
My Chromium version is Version 50.0.2661.102 Ubuntu 15.10 (64-bit).
Any ideas?

This is an existing bug in the new codeception version (2.1.5 and above). The solution is to downgrade your codeception version to 2.1.4.

Intern 2.0 fails with local Selenium Grid

I'm new to the Intern framework and I'm trying to get a simple functional test running using a local Selenium Grid. It runs perfectly when I run Selenium as a standalone server, but when I try to use a Selenium Grid it fails. The browser launches, but only shows about:blank in the address bar. I'm using OS X 10.9.4 and running the tests in Chrome. I followed the instructions here to set up the grid, namely:
$ java -jar selenium-server-standalone-2.41.0.jar -role hub
$ java -jar selenium-server-standalone-2.41.0.jar -role node -hub http://localhost:4444/grid/register
$ node node_modules/intern/runner.js config=tests/intern
Here's my test:
registerSuite({
name: 'index',
"sample test": function () {
return this.remote
.get("http://www.google.com");
}
});
Here's the output I'm seeing from Intern:
$ node node_modules/intern/runner.js config=tests/intern

I know that the FORWARDING_TO_NODE_FAILED error is supposed to mean there's a network issue, but I don't see how that could be the case as everything is running locally. I've tried other Selenium versions (2.39, 2.40, 2.41, and 2.42.2) and other browsers (Firefox, Safari) with no luck. Any help would be appreciated here.
Selenium Grid is buggy and requires a Content-Length header on all non-GET requests (Selenium server standalone does not). Intern 2.0.3 works around this issue, so if you update to 2.0.3, things should just work.
