How to increase the flashing speed using SAM-BA? - embedded

I am trying to flash my yocto-generated image into a SAM9X60EK board but it's insanely slow, I think it's because of the write buffer size which is only 8KB (and the image is around 150MB) as shown below,

I have readed that the string value can be at max 512 Megabytes in length. I also try to found some configuration but couldn't find anything.
How can i store a value bigger than 4K in Redis?
I think the limitation you are seeing is coming from readline which interactive Redis uses to provide an editable command history.
I assume you don't really want to start 512,000,000 copies of the letter A so let's assume you want to store a 400kB JPEG, you can do this in Terminal:
redis-cli -x HSET YourKey ImageData < image.jpg
Of course, if you do want to store 500,000 letter As:

pipe dd to sha256sum

I need to get the sha256 hash of a chunk of a binary file.
I wrote a little shell script for that task:
dd if=$1 skip=$2 count=$3 bs=1 | sha256sum
When I test it, I get the following result:

Does that mean the hash is based solely on the chunk output by dd, or did it also use dd's feedback "20+0 records in..."?
This is the actual block stream hash (does not include the STDOUT text in the hash). You can verify this by dumping the contents to a separate file and checksumming that file using the of= option. You will get the same hash results.
You can also hash a few 0'd out blocks and you will find the same hash results with different count increment output enumerated
(meaning it is outside the calculation).
I.E.

required size of a configuration file for a HX1K (in "SPI slave" mode)

I am reworking the programmer for the Olimex iCE40HX1K board (targetted towards a STM32F103 ma) where I also would like to implement the "SPI Slave" mode to configure an image directly into RAM without using the serial flash.
Looking at the Lattice "programming and Configuration guide" (page 11), it is noted in table 8 that a EPROM for a ICE40-LP/LX1K must be at least 34112 bytes. (which -I guess- means that the configuration-files can be up to that size).
However, all images I have (sofar) created with the icestorm tools are 32220 octets.
I am a bit puzzled here.
Can somebody explain the difference between these two figures?
Does the HX1K need a configuration-file of 32220 or 34112 bytes?
I don't know how Lattice arrived at this number. A complete HX1K bin file with BRAM initialization but without comment and without multiboot header is 32220 bytes in size. The (optional) multiboot header would add another 160 bytes (32220 + 160 = 32380). The lattice tools usually add about 80 bytes to the comment field (32220 + 80 = 32300). Whatever I do, all numbers I have are more than 1000 short of 34112.
I don't know if there is a maximum length for the comment. Maybe there is and 34112 is the size of a bit stream with a comment of maximum length?
34112 - 32220 = 1892. Maybe someone decided to add 8kB (8192 bytes) just in case, but that person accidentally swapped the first two digits? Idk..
If you don't care about comments or multiboot headers, then iCE40 1K bit-streams have a fixed size, and that size is 32220 bytes.

WCF streams in 4K chunks!

My WCF project uses Mtom and streaming, and set the MaxBytesPerRead to 32K (on client and server) but when I run
read = fs.read(buffer, 0, buffer.length)
it doesn't let me read more than 4096 bytes (4k) at a time (the 32K buffer doesn't fill up- it's padded with zeroes)
Is there any way I can stream my multi-megabyte file in chunks larger than 4K (please say yes) ???
4096 is the default size for the read buffer on a FileStream, which I assume is what your are returning. I am not really sure how the 4k limit is affecting you, but your alternative is to read the entire file into a MemoryStream and send it that way.

Where is the default max locked memory value coming from?

So on one system, I have values that are pretty wide open:

Another system has much more limiting values, but I can't for the life of me find out where the 32MB upper limit (it is 32MB despite the mislabling) is being set:

The second system is a RHEL 5.5 box. I am looking to increase this limit for at least one user- I need a bigger APC mmap memory allocation, but I can't go above 30 MB without running into the above limit, and I would rather not hack the provided apache init script. Where should I be trying to override the system default value so I can map a bigger segment of memory? Doing it in limits.conf for the apache user doesn't do a whole lot; probably because the init script doesn't do anything through PAM.
If the user granularity setting you tried isn't working, you should make sure that's you've correctly matched which user is hitting the limit.
You should also be able to add a line like this to limits.conf:
* hard memlock 40000
That'll change the default setting for all users.
