Pass data from form in vue - vue.js

I am currently working on a dropdown form in Vue.js. The user should be able to select from what time period he would like to see the data. I would like to then submit his chosen value and call a function in js that will handle his request appropriately.
i have tried to submit the value by "onchange" but have not managed to find the right solution. I am thankful for any help.
this is the code:
<div>
<div class="stats">
<!--drop menu-->
<form>
<label>Show feeds from <select id="input" name="ddlselect" onchange="submit">
<option>Auswählen</option>
<option value="Today">Today</option>
<option value="ThisWeek">This week</option>
<option value="PrevWeek">Previous Week</option>
</select> </label>
<br>
</form>
<br><br>
<!--data from the api-->
<div id="robot_data" v-for="maschine in userdaten.maschinen" :key="maschine.maschineId">
{{maschine.bezeichnung}}
<div id="feeds" v-for="feed in maschine.feeds" :key="feed.feedsId">
<!--use the var 'today' insted of the date string-->
<div v-if="feed.datum >= '2020-10-03' + ' 00:00:00' && feed.datum <= '2020-10-03' + '23:59:59'">
ID: {{feed.feedsId}} Datum: {{feed.datum}}
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
</template>

You want to add your event to the tag.
Also, the way to use events in Vue is like this v-on:change or #change.
So it should look like this:
<form v-on:change="yourMethod">

Assign a value in Vue.js onchange of input

I there guy's im struggling with a form that i need to complete using Vue.JS. Basically i need that the value of the field 'price_vat' its updated with some calculations evry time that input called 'price_user' is updated. Usign jquery evrything is going as well. Butt data is not passed to POST method using Vue.
<div class="col-md-6" v-show="form.active">
<div class="form-group">
<label >{{__('Price')}}</label>
<input type="number" v-model="form.price_user" class="form-control">
</div>
</div>
<div class="col-md-6" v-show="form.active">
<div class="form-group">
<label >{{__('Price with VAT')}}</label>
<input type="number" v-model="form.price_vat" class="form-control">
</div>
</div>
if i understand you correctly,, you want form.price_vat to change, every time you change form.price_user by typing inside the input.
you can do this using watch. just add the below your methods in vue:
watch:{
'form.price_user':function():{
this.form.price_vat += 1
},
}
so in this code, you update the value of form.price_vat by 1 every time the form.price_user changes. you can do anything inside the function of watch.
the complete vue part will be :
data(){
return:{
form:{
price_vat :'',
price_user : '',
}
}
},
methods:{},
watch:{
'form.price_user':function():{
this.form.price_vat += 1
},
}

VUE's focus() method return a console error? How to use it correctly?

I'm trying to focus on several elements of my form but the first one, despite being applied, returns an error by console.
This is my template:
<div class="container">
<div class="col-xs-12">
<div class="row">
<h1 class="animal-title">Your selection is : </h1>
</div>
<div class="wrapper">
<form class="first-form" #submit.prevent="onSubmit">
<div class="image-wrapper">
<div class="sel-image">
<div v-on:click="imageSelected = true" v-for="item in items" v-bind:key="item.id">
<label>
<input
type="radio"
name="selectedItem"
ref="item"
:value="item.id"
v-model="itemFormInfo.selectedItem"
#change="onChangeItem($event)"
/>
<img v-if="item.id === 1" src="../../assets/1.png" />
<img v-if="item.id === 2" src="../../assets/2.png" />
<img v-if="item.id === 3" src="../../assets/3.png" />
</label>
<p class="cie-animal-subtitle">{{item.name}}</p>
</div>
</div>
</div>
<div class="form-select">
<div v-show="filteredStock && (imageSelected || itemFormInfo.selectedItem) > 0">
<h1 v-if="this.itemName === 'Phone' || this.itemName === 'Tablet'" for="selectedItem" ref="itemVisible">
Select the brand of your <span>{{this.itemName}}</span> :
</h1>
<h1 v-if="this.itemName === 'PC'" for="selectedBreed" ref="itemVisible">
Select the type of your <span>{{this.itemName}}</span> :
</h1>
<select
ref="brand"
class="form-control"
id="selectedBrand"
v-model="itemFormInfo.selectedBrand"
#change="onChangeBrand($event)">
<option v-for="brand in filteredBrand" v-bind:key="brand.name">{{ brand.name }}</option>
</select>
<div v-show="this.isBrandSelected">
<h1>What are you going to use your
<span>{{itemName}}</span> for ?
</h1>
<input
type="text"
id="componentName"
ref="componentName"
class="form-control fields"
style="text-transform: capitalize"
v-model="itemFormInfo.component"
#keypress="formChange($event)"
/>
<div class="loader-spinner" v-if="loading">
<app-loader/>
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
<div class="service-options" v-show="isComponentCompleted">
<div class="from-group">
<h1>
Here are the options for your <span>{{this.itemFormInfo.component}}</span> :
</h1>
<div class="services">
<div class="column-service" v-for="option in options" v-bind:key="option.name">
<div class="service-name">{{option.name}}</div>
<div class="service-price">{{option.price.toString().replace(".", ",")}} </div>
</div>
</div>
and here my first method
onChangeItem(event) {
let item = event.target._value;
this.itemName = this.getItemName(item);
if (this.isItemSelected = true) {
this.isItemSelected = false;
this.isComponentCompleted = false;
this.isLoaderFinished = false;
this.itemFormInfo.name = ""
}
this.$refs.item.focus();
},
in this function that I control my first input, the focus is working but it returns me by console the following error:
"this.$refs.item.focus is not a function at VueComponent.onChangeItem"
I have seen some references to similar cases where they involved the reference in a setTimeout or used the this.$nextTick(() => method but it didn't work in my case.
What am I doing wrong?
How can I focus on the next select with ref brand, once I have chosen the value of the first input?
Thank you all for your time and help in advance
How can I focus on the next select with ref brand, once I have chosen the value of the first input?
You want to put focus on brand but your onChangeItem handler is calling this.$refs.item.focus() (trying to focus item). Seems strange to me...
Reason for the error is you are using ref inside v-for.
Docs: When used on elements/components with v-for, the registered reference will be an Array containing DOM nodes or component instances
So the correct way for accessing item ref will be this.$refs.item[index].focus().
Just be aware that right now v-for refs do not guarantee the same order as your source Array - you can find some workarounds in the issue discussion...

Vue.js - Use v-for with dynamic range value

Maybe I'm going about this the wrong way ... but I'm trying to use a v-for loop to duplicate/remove a custom component x times. x is decided by a <select> field above. What I have works on the initial page load, but then when you select a different option, only one custom component is displayed (although x is updated). Does anyone have any idea what I am doing wrong?
// here is the select field that defines the number of enrolling students
<select name="number_students_enrolling" v-model="formFields.numberStudentsEnrolling">
<option value="" default selected></option>
<option value="1">1</option>
<option value="2">2</option>
<option value="3">3</option>
</select>
// here is the custom component I'm trying to duplicate/remove dynamically
<div class="students-container">
<student v-for="n in formFields.numberStudentsEnrolling" :key="n" v-bind:index="n" >
</student>
</div>
// here is the custom component
Vue.component('student', {
props: ["index"],
template: `
<div class="input--student">
<div class="input--half">
<label>
<span class="d-block">
Student {{ index }} Name <span class="field--required">*</span>
</span>
<input type="text">
</label>
</div>
<div class="input-wrap input--half">
<label>
<span class="d-block">
Student {{ index }} DOB <span class="field--required">*</span>
</span>
<input type="text">
</label>
</div>
</div>
`
})
// Here is the Vue.js instance
var test = new Vue({
el: '#test',
data: {
formFields: {
numberStudentsEnrolling: 3
}
}
});
v-for needs a Number, but you're giving it a string (the selected value). Convert it to a Number so v-for will treat it as a range from 1 to N:
<div class="students-container">
<student
v-for="n in Number(formFields.numberStudentsEnrolling)"
:key="n"
v-bind:index="n">
</student>
</div>
For completeness, another approach (per #HusamIbrahim) is to annotate the v-model reference with .number, which will automatically do the conversion.
<select
name="number_students_enrolling"
v-model.number="formFields.numberStudentsEnrolling"
>

In Angular 5, [(ngModel)] is not working when i am trying with two way data binding with elvis operator

I use single reactive form as insert and update operation in both case radio button needed to be checked - how can I fix this issue?
Here is the field I use
<div class="form-group">
<div class="col-sm-6">
<div class="row">
<div class="col-sm-6">
<input type="radio" formControlName="reportheader" id="reportheader0" [value]="0" (change)="isRhChanged()" [(ngModel)]="reportSettingData?.header_option"> According to present format
</div>
<div class="col-sm-6">
<input type="radio" formControlName="reportheader" id="reportheader1" [value]="1" (change)="isRhChanged()" [(ngModel)]="reportSettingData?.header_option"> Will use a customized header
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
Error:
Parser Error: The '?.' operator cannot be used in the assignment at column 34
For the default value to be checked, I use this code in the component:
this.rForm.patchValue({ reportheader: '0' });

sails js: add EJS template using jQuery

I am trying append EJS templates using jQuery, I am not sure if what I am doing is right.
views/form/room-form.ejs
<form>
...
<div class="add_room_inputs">
<%- include partials/add_room %>
</div>
<div id="NewAddRoomForm">
<p>Add new form</p>
</div>
...
</form>
\assets\linker\js\custom-functions.js
$(document).ready(function(){
$('#NewAddRoomForm').click(function() {
$('.add_room_inputs').append('<%- include /assets/linker/templates/add-room-input.ejs %>');
});
}
/assets/linker/templates/room-input.ejs
<input name="rooms[]" class="form-control" placeholder="Room Name" type="text">
alternative solution (custom-functions.js file) which fails on file not found
var html = new EJS({url: '/assets/linker/templates/add-room-input.ejs.ejs'}).render();
$('#NewAddRoomForm').click(function() {
$('.add_room_inputs').append(html);
});
How can I implement such thing?
Did you include jst.js in the layout? by default it should be there as you are using Sails JS.
What you're trying to do wont work...
The problem is that the server has already rendered the template and sent the result to the client. Also the client doesn't have access to the view files on the server.
An Ajax framework like KnockoutJS is probably closer to what you are looking for, but there are others.
Here...I decided to make you a fiddle

SO wants code too so here is a repaste
<form>
<h1 data-bind="text: form_title"></h1>
Add Form
<br><br>
<div id="NewAddRoomForm" data-bind="foreach: form_list">
<div data-bind="text: 'Form '+($index() + 1)"></div>
<input data-bind="value: name" /><br>
<input data-bind="value: age" />
</div>
<br><br>
</form>
