Unexpected keyword 'export' error in ReactNative - yarn workspace - react-native

I'm trying to set up a react native project inside a yarn workspace and got Android running by preceding all node_modules references in .gradle files with ../ to reference node_modules in the workspace folder.
But that didn't work in iOS and later I heard it's better to do the nohoist and I tried adding the following in my react native project `package.json
private: true,
"workspaces": {
"nohoist": [
"**"
]
}
Or
private: true,
"workspaces": {
"nohoist": [
"react-native",
"react-native/**",
"react",
"react/**"
]
}
But in both case, I'm getting the following error,
Unhandled JS exception: Unexpected keyword 'export'
More details: Fresh project created with react-native init
react-native: 0.63.4
react: 16.13.1

Missing dependencies when using yarn workspace with React native init

I want to setup a monorepo.
I init my React native project with npx react-native init myProject as the first project. (there will be more project added later)
Folder structure
Parent
myProject
package.json (created by react-native)
yarn.lock
package.json (where I setup workspace)
Then I setup yarn workspace from the parent folder of myProject.
{ "name": "Parent",
"private": true,
"workspaces": {
"packages": [
"*"
],
"nohoist": [
"**/react-native",
"**/react-native-*",
"**/#react-native-*",
"**/#react-native-*/**",
"**/#react-navigation",
"**/#react-navigation/**",
"**/hermes-engine",
"**/rn-*"
] }
}
Everything seems to work until I push to git and clone back. I use yarn install but got this error when start the project (run android or run ios)
Error: Unable to resolve module `scheduler` from `node_modules\react-native\Libraries\Renderer\implementations\ReactNativeRenderer-dev.js`: scheduler could not be found within the project or in these directories:
..\node_modules
The only way I can fix that is to cd myProject and run npm install (it will add some packages and the app will work) while cd and using yarn install won't do anything
I just want to use yarn for the project so what can I do to fix this problem?
I figure out how to fix it. I forgot to edit metro.config in RN folder.
const path = require('path')
const linkedLibs = [path.resolve(__dirname, '..')]
console.info('CONFIG', linkedLibs)
module.exports = {
transformer: {
getTransformOptions: async () => ({
transform: {
experimentalImportSupport: false,
inlineRequires: false,
},
}),
},
watchFolders: linkedLibs,
};
Use this and everything will be fine

Not able to work with peer dependency in react native

I have one react-native app in which I am using "json-schema-rules" library. Now I have also created one library which is getting used in my react-native app like this "file:../custom_library" in package.json.
Now to resolve the version conflict, I decided to use "json-schema-rules" as a peer dependency in my custom library. So, the package.json is like this
Package.json of my react-native app:
{
"dependencies": {
"json-rules-engine": "^2.3.0",
"custom_library": "file:../custom_library"
}
}
package.json of my custom_library:{
"peerDependencies": {
"json-schema-rules": "^2.3.0"
}
}
Now the problem is, whenever I am using metro bundler, I get an error
error: bundling failed: Error: Unable to resolve module json-rules-engine
json-rules-engine could not be found within the project.
This is the case when I am using it in peerDependencies, I do not get any error if I use this library in dependencies.
Please help.
You can try to add an alias for the module in your project's babel config.
This means that when your custom packages tries to import "json-rules-engine" it will get served the version from the main app.
First install 'babel-plugin-module-resolver' then configure the alias in "module-resolver"
babel.config.js
const config = {
presets: ["module:metro-react-native-babel-preset"],
plugins: [
[
"module-resolver",
{
root: ["./src"],
extensions: [".js", ".jsx", ".ios.js", ".android.js"],
alias: {
"json-rules-engine": require.resolve("json-rules-engine")
}
}
]
]
};
module.exports = config;

error Failed to get dependency config. while installing fonts

I am trying to install fonts with
react-native link ./assets/fonts/ and with react-native link
both are giving the same error:
"error Failed to get dependency config."
I updated my package.json
"rnpm": {
"assets": [
"./assets/fonts/"
]
}
Please help
I have made sure the path to the font folder is correct and still same problem
re-install and re-link solves the problem in my case
What version of your react-native?
If it is> 0.60, it is recommended to create the react-native.config.js file with the configurations below:
module.exports = {
project: {
ios: {},
android: {}, // grouped into "project"
},
assets: [
'./assets/fonts/',
],
};
Link without specifying the package name and it should work
react-native link

React native ios error, 'optionalChaining' isn't currently enabled

Trying to build my react native app I get this error:
error: bundling failed: SyntaxError: /xxxxr/node_modules/react-native/node_modules/react-native/Libraries/Components/Switch/Switch.js: Support for the experimental syntax 'optionalChaining' isn't currently enabled (103:41):
I have added:
{
"presets": ["react-native"],
"plugins": ["#babel/plugin-proposal-optional-chaining"]
}
To my .babelrc but I still get the error. How can I build my project?
Try installing plugin-proposal-optional-chaining plugin as follows:
npm install --save-dev #babel/plugin-proposal-optional-chaining
Try adding below code to your .babelrc:
{
"plugins": [
"#babel/plugin-proposal-optional-chaining"
],
"presets": [
"react-native"
]
}
Hope it will help you.

Build error: missing babel-preset-expo in expo mobile app

I'm new to react-native and am in the early stages of creating an app with Expo. I had a working app until installing redux. Currently I am getting the following error from the XDE:
Problem checking node_modules dependencies: Unexpected end of JSON input
and the following from the ios simulator:
Building JavaScript bundle: error
TransformError: ../app/main.js: Couldn't find preset "babel-preset-expo" relative to directory "../app/"
I believe my node modules contain valid JSON. It should be noted that I'm using a more current version of react-native than expo.
I experienced this issue when I tried moving to expo version 21.0.0.
You should try to delete your node modules and use yarn to install.
package.json
dependencies:{
"babel-preset-expo" : "^4.0.0",
"expo": "^21.0.0",
"react-native": "https://github.com/expo/react-native/archive/sdk-21-0.2.tar.gz"
}
my .babelrc
{
"presets": ["babel-preset-expo"],
"env": {
"development": {
"plugins": ["transform-react-jsx-source"]
}
}
}
