Shopify: How to make a custom template editable in the theme editor? - shopify

I am using the theme "Debut" and I've copied it to make a custom theme out of it.
Then, under "Edit code" I have create a new template for "blog".
Now, when I click on "Customize" button at my template, and the theme editor opens, I have a select box in the top bar where I can select the themes templates, and the pages I've created. But I can't find my custom blog template there, to edit it via the drag & drop editor.
How can I achieve this?
Any help is highly appreciated, thanks!

Once you add any custom template for a blog, product, or collection, they are not available directly into the backend customizer in Shopify.
In backend default templates are available, you need to assign the template to a page, product or blog and then navigate to the desired page, collection or product and blog page into backend using customizer window and then you able to edit the sections and blocks that are added to custom template code.

Shopify: selecting alternate Template for "All Products" page

I am trying to customise my debut theme and am a bit stuck.
I am trying to create an alternate template for the template that shows all my products.
I am able to create an alternate collections.liquid and it also shows up in the admin an it all works fine. But my confusion is, this seems to be the same template for rendering the all my products (not just the products from that collection) too, but how/where select the alternate template for that in the admin?
In other words I am attempting to change the template for collections/all
By default the collections/all uses the collection.liquid file.
As you said you can create a new template collection.custom.liquid that you can use.
The interesting part is that there is no actual collection/all page in the admin. This is the default page that ALL shopify shops have (similar to the homepage/404/cart page). So you don't have access to it from the admin panel by default.
In order to change the ALL collection page you need to create it yourself. Go to your collections admin page and create a new collection with the handle all and this will overwrite the default all collection and you will be able to choose a different template for it.
TLDR; create a new "all" collection in the admin panel and choose the custom template for it.
you have check here collection type grid or list which is enabled from the theme option
collection-template.liquid file that show collection/all item list
if want to change the alternative template goto the template directory. page.collection_list.liquid

Is it possible to add custom fields to the product page?

Is it possible to add custom html or edit existing information on the main shopify pages such as "product" or the other main tabs?

If you want to edit the liquid templates you need to navigate to Online Store > Themes then click Actions and select Edit Code from a dropdown menu:
To edit the product page template open product-template.liquid from Sections directory.

Checkout Page Stencil Bigcommerce

We use Bigcommerce Stencil theme for our store, but we have some issue with a checkout page. We don't need have Shipping Details before Shipping Method because we have only Click&Collect option, without shipping. How can we change an order of questions in a checkout page and put Shipping Method before Shipping Details or maybe just hide it, as you pick Click&Collect option? Is it possible to change checkout.php or maybe add some JavaScript code for this? Thank you.
You should be able to modify what is happening on the checkout page by making your changes to checkout_express.html.
In Stencil, I found that the checkout_express.html file may not be available in the Stencil Theme Editor (Storefront Design -> My Themes, click on the "Customize" button on your current theme). If this is the case, you may need to go and change the setting for your checkout to allow for modification. Go to Advanced Settings -> Checkout and select "Custom One Page Checkout (for developers)" and Save your changes. This will set you up to be able to edit checkout_express.html.
Next, go to Storefront Design -> Design Options, and select the "More" navigation item. You should now have the option "Template Files". Selecting this option will give you a list of files for the current template; checkout_express.html should be among them. Find the file, and click on the ellipsis (...) on the right side of the screen for the file and select "Edit". That should open a new window with an in-browser editor that will allow you to make adjustments to the checkout page layout as you see fit.

Prestashop how to customize theme

I have bought leo_chopin theme (because client asked for it). My question is how to customize a theme from html/php/css editor and not from admin panel (it's too constricting). I wouldn't hardcode, but use hooks. This is the first time I'm using Prestashop and that style of programing... For example, where to call my own header.tpl, footer.tpl, content.tpl?
Thank you in advance for your help.
Go to your_site_folder/themes/leo_chopin/ and you will find header.tpl, footer.tpl.
You can modify these templates there or make a copy of a theme into another folder and modify it.
All content between header and footer depends on a page controller. All controllers for the front are in a folder your_site_folder/controllers/front/. ProductController.php is for product pages, CategoryController.php is for category pages, IndexController.php is for the home page etc.
You can find more in Prestashop documentation: http://doc.prestashop.com/display/PS16/Laying+the+Theme's+Foundations.

Image slider link to internal or external page on Sitefinity

(Sitefinity 6.x)
I am trying to create an image slider where each image in the page links to an internal or external page. I created a separate library for all the images that I want to show on the slider then using custom MVC widget I display the images in a slider. The problem that I have is there is no place in the image where I can link the image to open an existing internal page or external website.
Is there a way to add a properties to the original Image properties? so that users can select a page (using some sort of page selector just like in the navigation widget) or type in external page to link. If that is not possible, could you give me some ideas how to implement this?
I've been creating image rotators using Module Builder in Sitefinity. What you could do is go to Administration -> Module Builder -> Create a Module, call it Image Slider, call the content type Slide. Add a couple fields, for the first call it Image and select Media for the type, this will use an image selector for the interface, then add another field called Link and use Short text for the type, this will hold the url. Unfortunately, Sitefinity doesn't include a Page Selector control as an available field yet so a text field will have to do. Save and activate your module, it will show up under Content -> Types of Content. Go ahead and add a few slides. Sitefinity has created a couple of widgets when you created the module, so if you edit a page, you'll see them under the "Content" widget section, probably at the bottom. Drag it on the page and set it to use the list template. Now open up the Sitefinity Explorer window in their Thunder Visual Studio plugin, under Common Widget Templates, you'll see an Image Slider folder, you'll want to edit the list template since you'll be outputing all the slides into some carousel markup or something. From here you can use the default Sitefinity image control and bind the link to a hyperlink that wraps the image control, this will link each image to whatever is in that field.
Hope that helps.
