Build started... Build succeeded. To protect potentially sensitive
information in your connection string, you should move it out of
source code. You can avoid scaffolding the connection string by using
the Name= syntax to read it from configuration - see

storing connection strings, see

Problem:
I am very new to ASP.net core. I am trying to connect my application to the MySQL database. So I create connectionString as follows.
"ConnectionStrings": {
"DevConnection": "Server=server=127.0.0.1;uid=root;pwd=mypwd;database=PaymentDetailDB;"
}
And in the startup.cs class I add this line to the ConfigureServices method.
options.UseSqlServer(Configuration.GetConnectionString("DevConnection")));
Add-Migration "InitialCreate" was successfully run. But when I run `Update-Database` it gives me this issue.

Can someone help me with tissue? As I am very new to this.net I do not have any clue to find a solution to this one.Thank you
The SqlServerDbContextOptionsExtensions.UseSqlServer Method is used to configure the context to connect to a Microsoft SQL Server database, instead of MySQL database.
To connect with MySQL Database, you could install the MySql.Data package, then, use the MySqlConnection() method to open a connection to a MySQL Server database.
Here are some related articles about using MySQL with Asp.net core and EF Core, please check them (You could also search "asp.net core with mysql and entity framework core" online and find more tutorials):

I am trying to connect to a database using the Hostname and SID values through a powershell script.
My code:
$DataSource ='HOSTNAME:PORT/INSTANCE'
$Username='Username'
$Password='Password'
#List
$UserDataDT = New-Object System.Data.DataTable
$SQLConnection = New-Object System.Data.SqlClient.SqlConnection
$SQLConnection.ConnectionString = "Data Source=$DataSource;User Id=$Username;Password=$Password;"
$SQLCmd= New-Object System.Data.SqlClient.SqlCommand
$SQLConnection.open();
$SQLCmd.Connection = $SQLConnection
$SqlCmd.CommandTimeout = 600
I am getting the following error:

A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. File with the connections string:
{ "Logging": { "LogLevel": { "Default": "Warning" } }, "AllowedHosts": "*", "ConnectionStrings": { "LaprDB":"Data Source=****.database.windows.net;Initial Catalog=lapr5DB;User ID=*****;Password=*****;Connect Timeout=30;Encrypt=True;TrustServerCertificate=False;ApplicationIntent=ReadWrite;MultiSubnetFailover=False", "MyDbConnection":"Server=tcp:*****.database.windows.net,1433;Database=coreDB;User ID=****;Password=*****;Encrypt=true;Connection Timeout=30;" } }
No matter how many databases you have in the Azure SQL Server, every database has the unique connection string.
You can connect the database which you want to make a migration by using its unique connection string.
I think you can modify your ConnectionStrings like this and try again:
"ConnectionStrings": { "Server=tcp:******.database.windows.net,1433;Initial Catalog=coreDB;Persist Security Info=False;User ID={your_username};Password={your_password};MultipleActiveResultSets=False;Encrypt=True;TrustServerCertificate=False;Connection Timeout=30;"}
You can get your database connection strings in Azure portal:
I have a windows forms application which makes use of the local database (Service Database) ".mdf" file. I am able to connect to this database using the connection string below from the development machine.
<connectionStrings>
<add name="DbConnectionString"
connectionString="Data Source=(LocalDB)\v11.0;AttachDbFilename=|DataDirectory|\MDFDb.mdf;Integrated Security=SSPI;Connect Timeout=30"
providerName="System.Data.SqlClient;Trusted_Connection=Yes;" />
</connectionStrings>
I am trying to publish the application now. When i attempt to install the application on a different machine. The application throws an error as shown below.

We have deployed a winforms app which allows the user to connect to either localdb / sql express, or a full version of sql server. If the choose localdb we have been using this connection string:
Data Source=(localdb)\v11.0;AttachDbFileName="C:\localdbfilename.mdf";Integrated Security=True;Connect Timeout=15;Encrypt=False;TrustServerCertificate=False;
I hope that helps. It has been working for us.

I am not sure what this means as the webconfig is present and I verified the connection strings are correct. I even pointed my dev environment at the DB to validate it is right. I am using the VS web publish feature. It looks like all files are installed to the right directory and in IIS the site is up.
Your error states it is using named pipes, named pipes is used when doing IPC (Inter Process Communication), set your SQL SERVER up for TCP/IP and make sure you have a connection string that works with that configuration.
You should check the DbContext and change DefaultConnection from name of conection you use.
public class UsersContext : DbContext
{
public UsersContext()
: base("MyDBContext")
{
}
