I am trying to add the react-native firebase database library in my react native CLI app but yarn gets stuck while linking dependencies and after 5 to mins throws the following error.
error An unexpected error occurred: "EBUSY: resource busy or locked, unlink 'C:\\Users\\SAIM NASSER\\Desktop\\E-commerceApp\\node_modules\\react-native-photoeditorsdk\\android\\build\\intermediates\\library_java_res\\debug\\res.jar'".
Make sure you close bundler before you add or remove packages. Since you're on Windows, it could be a file is locked. You can either reboot your computer or use a program to tell you what's locking the file and unlock it. Then you can add/remove the packages, then you can start up the simulator etc. again.

I've created a development build of an Expo app using EAS. Previously I would open the app in Expo Go by running npx expo start and scanning the Metro Bundler QR code.
Now, when I try to do the same thing, Expo Go asks whether I want to open the project in Expo Go or as a "Development Build". It works fine in Expo Go, but crashes immediately when I attempt to open the dev build. The error reads:
null is not an object (evaluating '_ReanimatedModule.default.createNode')
This error is suspiciously similar to one that I encountered earlier in development, which I resolved by downgrading to React Native version 0.69.6. I'm also encountering a second error that says "'main' has not been registered", but I suspect this is downstream of the first error.
I have the same issue when I try to run the app with npx expo start --dev-client.
Any ideas why I might be having this problem?
It sounds like you may have run expo prebuild (https://docs.expo.dev/workflow/prebuild/) which removes "main": "node_modules/expo/AppEntry.js", from app.json. Try to create a new expo app and look at it's app.json file.
When you run expo prebuild it changes a few things with your project (see "side effects" in the prebuild docs).
I'm actually working through some issues with that right now too. I thought I had to run prebuild but turns out I didn't have to. Ever since I ran it my app will not load via the dev-client way. I can however switch back to npx expo start (NOT npx expo start --dev-client, see the scripts section of app.json as that is also changed when prebuild is run).
Let me know if you are able to get your app to load after re-adding the main stuff to app.json.
Ps, are you by chance using react-native-google-mobile-ads?
Error is this
Error: Unable to resolve module metro/src/lib/bundle-modules/HMRClient
Here is additional error logs
This error appeared when I had to create a new project and ran react-native run-android just right after running react-native init PROJECT_NAME. Why I had to create another project is due to another error shown in this question.
Now I can't seem to run any of my react-native applications due to these problems. I am thinking this is a cache problem or somethings? maybe unstable package versions.
I have also found this solution in GitHub threads and actually removed the error log, but keeps crashing my application in android emulator (android studio)
I have tried reinstalling react-native-cli, but still have this error.
this error appear suddenly after updating expo-cli to version 3.2.3
I can't manage to run the application, it displays error like this when I run expo start / yarn start
Trying to open the project in iOS simulator...
Opening exp://127.0.0.1:19000 in iOS simulator
Expo Press ? to show a list of all available commands.
Fetching the user profile failed
getaddrinfo ENOTFOUND exp.host
even I open expo.host from the browser loading.. I tried using 2 internet providers, change dns, flush dns, etc. still not loaded.
I solved this by deleting all expo related files and folders in my project
.expo and .expo-shared specifically.
when you run expo start, expo will automatically regenerate those files.
Make sure you are connected to the same network as your phone and PC,
you can try signing in and starting the project from your recent development tab on expo client.
if this dosen't work try reomving some devDependencies that you're not really using, then delete the node modules and install afresh.
I was facing the similar issue. It got resolved, as I logged in to the expo in my project folder.
Using expo w, you can check if you are logged-in in expo. and use expo login command to login
I use react-native with actual version and have tried to create a simple project. But while trying to create it by using
expo init AwesomeProject
the whole process hangs.
I have tried to look for a solution by searching on the internet but without any luck.
The error could be seen in the following screenshot:
That error generally means that a file is being accessed by two different things at 'around' the same time. And 90% of those times it is because of an anti-virus or similar.
Its a permission error, so my advice, try to do it after a fresh reboot and boot the powershell as admin, disable antivirus etc..
If still does not work reinstall nodejs/npm.
I had the same experience. The project gets created using React-native. When you try to run it, the 'Metro' interface comes up. There is an android phone on the USB drive which has previously been used to run Android Studio created projects successfully. However, on the command shell the app hangs in Metro.
While trying to run the project from Android Studio snow cat, there are build errors (red) in the App manifest file and there is this exception.
Build failed due to java.lang.NullPointerException
Installed expo-cli (C:\Reactive-native>npm install -g expo-cli). The app fails to run and hangs on the connected Android phone(Samsung 21) using the Expo Go client. This client has no problem having been tested in Snackbar.
I have a question in the Expo forum and probably someone will answer!
I just started working with react native. I created a new project using
react-native init ChatSample.
Then i run this command
react-native run-android --deviceId MYDEVICEID
Now after finishing 100% it shows this error
adb: failed to install app/build/outputs/apk/app-debug.apk: Failure [INSTALL_FAILED_ALREADY_EXISTS: Attempt to re-install com.chatsample without first uninstalling.]
I moved to this folder and found that app-debug.apk exists there so i deleted it, but again when i run this command it shows same error.
Then i deleted the complete build folder and run this command but still got the same error. More precisely when it is around 50% it starts creating build folder and app-debug.apk and as soon as it reaches 100% app-debug.apk file is created in that folder. But why is the error coming, like this is a fresh project and all i did is just run two command first for creating project and other for running app.
You can open the project in Android Studio from the ProjectFile/android. Then build and run on your Phone
Is in your device the APK installed? Try uninstalling the APK from the device and then run the command again.
