I have Selenium installed on my computer (3.141.0) using Python 3.7
I have imported the library to Ride to a new Suite (WebAutomation), however, after I type the keyword OPEN BROWSER into the test case (OpenBrowser) it is not displayed:
The keyword OPEN BROWSER is not included in my Selenium version?
Hard to say, you don't include enough information for us to help you resolve your problem.
In general, the problem will be somewhere around one of these:
you have forgotten to install some library or dependency; please refer to this post, it might be similar to your problem; in short, you need to install:
$ pip install -U selenium
$ pip install -U robotframework-seleniumlibrary
$ pip install -U robotframework
you do not import SeleniumLibrary; make sure your file has this import correctly:
*** Settings ***
Library SeleniumLibrary
it could be only a RIDE's problem, perhaps you mean it won't show you the hint when you type Open? But what happens when you correctly type the whole keyword and run your test? Does it fail? With what error?
Unfortunately the latest version of SeleniumLibrary, 4.4.0, generates a documentation XML with some incompatibility with RIDE. There may be a long list of errors in the Parser log. We have an attempt of a workaround on the FAQ of the project page at https://github.com/robotframework/RIDE.
for me I had this issue when running ride as root. when I changed to a normal user it started working.

I am trying to run my UI test using testcafe and saucelabs. I am facing this above error. Currently I am using testcafe v1.8.3 and testcafe-browser-provider-saucelabs v1.7.0
I have tried changing versions of browser provider also but still facing the above error. Pls help out with a solution for this as i am stuck with it for more than a week
So, it looks like the runner you are using (testcafe-browser-provider) is a very old one, there is a new runner you can use for testcafe tests called saucectl.
TLDR:
Install saucectl globally npm install -g saucectl
Set up saucectl within your project folder with saucectl init This will create a .sauce/config.yml file
Tweak the settings to run the spec files and OS/ browser of your choice
Use saucectl run

It looks like your provider is installed locally, while you are using the global TestCafe installation. You also need to install TestCafe locally or both packages globally. After this, check your browser provider: testcafe -b saucelabs.

Please update your testcafe and testcafe-browser-provider-saucelabs versions to the latest ones.
After searching the web for hours i didnt yet find an answer to my problem. I am using Python 3.6 and i cant import selenium. I always get the message "No module named 'selenium''
I tried everything, i first downloaded selenium from this website https://pypi.python.org/pypi/selenium/3.6.0 .
Then I tried python -m pip install -U selenium and didnt work either. I tried some other things that people said but they didnt work either.
Im using windows 10.
Any help?

Execute the program on which Firefox Quantum Browser will be initiated and the url https://stackoverflow.com will be accessed.

I'm on VS Code in Windows 10, and here's how I solved it.
You need to pay attention to where the Python is located (in my case),
1) C:\Users\_Me_\AppData\Local\Programs\Python\Python38\
and where the Python looks for libraries/packages, including the ones installed using pip (again, in my case),
2) C:\Users\_Me_\AppData\Roaming\Python\Python38\
I don't know why these two locations are different (gotta fix it at some point). It seemed that Python was running from the first location, but it was looking for libraries in the second!:/
Anyway, since I have limited experience in Python , I just copied the \Lib\site-packages from the first location (including selenium folders) to \site-packages in second one in hopes of solving the issue, which worked out for me!
How to check for there locations
1) Open Python CLI, typed the following command:
which python
2) Open Python CLI, typed the following commands (From this answer):
>>> import site
>>> site.USER_SITE

Since this seems a temporary solution, I uninstalled Python and reinstalled it again in a proper directory (other than the default install directory), and now which python and which pip point to the same folder! Problem solved!
If these solutions did not work for you, try looking into which Python interpreter your IDE is using (in my case I was using VSCode - you can find the interpreter in the bottom bar). Worked for me.
Easiest way is to copy all files of "venv" Lib, Scripts, Selenium and other folder into your main project folder.
This issue occur as pycharm directly take from virtual environment venv.

I am using conan io to create a package from pre build binaries. I found this post on the conan website: http://docs.conan.io/en/latest/creating_packages/existing_binaries.html but the problem is: Every time I try to use export-pkg command I get an error that this command is unknown. What is more I can neither create a --bare package. What is wrong?
Do you have any idea what commands to use?

So, it occured that I had a prehistoric version of conan. What was surprising because couple of minutes before I upgraded conan. What happened: the upgrade was not successfull (although eveyrthing looked fine) because I had installed pythonx86. As soon as I installed pythonx64 and re-upgraded conan I had access to these new commands,
just in case someone had similar issues....
Problem when calling netconvert in sumo:
I am trying to create my own scenario for simulation purposes.
I am using OpenStreetMaps for this.
python osmWebWizard.py
opens the browser and I select the area which I download.
netconvert --osm-files osm_bbox.osm.xml -o osm.net.xml
The error message I get is
Error: Cannot import network data without PROJ-Library. Please install packages proj before building sumo
Warning: Environment variable SUMO_HOME is not set, using built in type maps.
Quitting (on error).
My attempt to fix the problem is:
sudo apt-get install libproj*
But it seems like a dead end there and I am out of options.

I have a gut feeling it has to do with libproj0 not being available anymore.
I try to work with protractor. So I followed a small tutorial and the first thing I did:
npm install -g protractor
This will install two command line tools, protractor and webdriver-manager.
But now I have to update my webdriver-manager:
webdriver-manager update
So my cmd tries to connect with https://chromedriver.storage.googleapis.com/2.14/chromedriver_win32.zip and https://selenium-release.storage.googleapis.com/2.45/selenium-server-standalone-2.45.0.jar.
But it will give this error:

Sometimes it is the EAI_AGAIN error and sometimes ENOTFOUND.
But what I don't understand is that I can download the zip and the jar manually in my browser. When I surf to the URL it all works fine. But not in the cmd. Can someone help me?

Update: after proxy settings I get this error:

It happened the same to me. The problem was due to a proxy we are using inside our company.
webdriver-manager has a parameter which is --proxy, where you can specify the proxy which the webdriver command should use.
The proxy configuration which you might have in nmp (.npmrc file in your users dicrectory) won't work for webdriver-manager.
Here the example which worked out for me.
webdriver-manager --proxy http://yourproxy:8080 update
If setting your proxy does not work, how it happened to me, you can download the files manually from the urls show in the console, and put them into the selenium folder
The path in Windows is:
users\username\AppData\Roaming\npm\node_modules\protractor\selenium
That works for me.

Read on if your webdriver-manager update doesn't update chromedriver
to the latest.
I lost a few weeks pulling my hair around an issue I had with "Unable to discover open pages" and every time I would update the chromedriver, it would update to version 2.22 for chromedriver and I believe the selenium server to v2.53.
My problem wasn't really with the selenium server so v2.53 was fine.
Issue was with chromedriver v2.22.
Eventhough this chromdriver link showed that there was a latest version of 2.24, 'webdriver-manager update' would NOT pick up that latest version, it would only grab version 2.22 of the chrome driver.
How did I go around this?
Simply run the command below after you check this link for which version of chromedriver you want to update to; for instance, I wanted v2.24 so I ran the command below:
webdriver-manager update --versions.chrome 2.24
If you check your location: C:\Users\<USER>\AppData\Roaming\npm\node_modules\webdriver-manager\selenium\
You should see that the desired chromedriver was downloaded there; if it's not there, read the command prompt logs and it'll tell you where it downloaded your chromdriver files.

Your web browser is probably using a proxy, or some other indirect access to the wider internet that the webdriver-manager script isn't configured to use. (The webdriver-manager supports a --proxy parameter if you know what to pass to it.)
If you can download the files manually, just put them in the selenium directory manually. The script also unzips the "chromedriver_win32.zip" in place to get the chromedriver binary contained in it.
