my question is nothing more than in the title. I want to build a web application which displays the repositories from a GitHub-classroom. But at the moment I can not load them since they are private. So I need to authenticate the web-application with GitHub.

I'm trying to develop a rally app using the app builder. When I load App-debug.html in my browser, I am prompted to enter my user credentials in the form provided. I enter them, but the form re-appears over and over again.
I did notice that the login attempts to authenticate via https://rally1.rallydev.com:443. If I go to this in another window and enter my account details I am able to get in. However, when I do log in, there is a corporate redirect that takes place (for SSO) and I ultimately end up on us1.rallydev.com.
How would I get my app to authenticate through us1.rallydev.com. Changing urls in App.js and config.json only causes errors when trying to load javascript for APIs.
The app should always just piggyback on your existing session. Changing the serverin config.json and re-running rab build should cause all traffic to go to that server- if that's not happening then that's a bug.
You won't be able to authenticate from scratch using SSO from an app, but it should have no problem re-using an existing session.

I'm using SBT SDK on a XPage.
After mastering a few traps at the beginning it works fine.
Livenames are properly displayed.
But now a got another problem.
If you click on a available person, a context menu is displayed, where you can choose 'CHAT' or 'VCARD'.
If I click on CHAT a URL like this ist called:
http://localhost:59449/stwebapi/loggedin?jsonp=stproxy.connect.callback.setAvailable&wait=true&time=1407834968761&fqdn=sametime.lotus.com
I found out that you have to install Sametime Connect Client locally at every computer, because it is providing a small webserver at port 59449.
That's impossible because I want to use Sametime on a public website.
I'm pretty sure that there is another way.
Somebody an idea?

1 - using the Sametime Local Web API
The local web api uses a configurable port (the default is mentioned above), to communicate back and forth from a web site which embeds or calls the configurable port using jsonp, meaning the javascript of the site wraps the sametime calls.
2 - using the Sametime Web Chat/Web Proxy
It means that the Sametime Web Chat is embedded as JavaScript on the page, and loaded using the appropriate JS libraries, and can have some pretty advanced features. There is a demo site off of greenhouse.lotus.com, and you can sign up for an account on that site.
you can download the sdk, and find many examples of using the local web api and web chat.

I have a SharePoint 2010 web application migrated to SharePoint 2013. this is a classic mode web application, we are not using claims, my client doesn't wants it ( Don't ask why?).
I had other web application migrated as same process but i can add users in them.
but in this i am not able to.
I can add users and find users in the web application in central administration. But not in the web application itself.
I am not sure what changes i have to make so that it starts picking or finding users from the people picker. any ideas.
it was because of the asp.netvalidation=2.0 not present in the httprequest line in webconfig. there was no validation for the input provided in any input box.
once we added the asp.net validation it worked fine.
It is a browser compatible issue as well whereas in new browser like IE 10 and other latest browsers it doesn't play well.

In short the fix is to edit the pickerdialog.master file in notepad and add a meta data tag, , to the header section.
well keep in mind always save a local copy of your original master page.

I have read through many questions here about launching my app on login. I have followed this awesome tutorial suggested many times. That tutorial does work. BUT...
The one side affect that comes from using a helper app and registering it using SMLoginItemSetEnabled is that my app does not show up inside the user's Login Items in System Preferences.
There are several apps in the App Store (such as PopClip and Dash) that do what I am trying to do. I just can't figure out how...
UPDATE: I found out from the Dash developer that Dash is actually not sandboxed. He also believes that PopClip is not either. This could explain things... https://alpha.app.net/kapeli/post/3975968

With the last 2 updates, I guess the answer is clear. As of today, there is no way to accomplish this with Sandboxed apps.

Adding Login Items
There are two ways to add a login item: using the Service Management framework, and using a shared file list.
Login items installed using the Service Management framework are not visible in System Preferences and can only be removed by the application that installed them.
Login items installed using a shared file list are visible in System Preferences; users have direct control over them. If you use this API, your login item can be disabled by the user, so any other application that communicates with it it should have reasonable fallback behavior in case the login item is disabled.
In sandboxed environment, only Helper applications can be installed in login items. You need to create one, stored in the Contents/Library/LoginItems folder of the main application.
Then you can used SMLoginItemSetEnabled to set the helper as login item and ask the login item to start the main application.
I am using MVC4's WEB API to expose a controller.
Initially I created created a MVC4 WEBAPI project, set the project not to open any web page, wait for an external app to call the URL (WEB API). The project in VS2010 is set to run from IIS7 Express, not VS2010's Dev Server. This works OK, the browser prompts me to down load a file. Which is OK for me, as the browser does not know what to do with the returned data (RAW TEXT).
Next, I created an AREA in the MVC4 project area, then added a controller (WEB API type).
Then I once again ran the project and in a browser entered the the URL (WEB API). And it fails.

The DefaultHttpControllerFactory doesn't work with Areas by default. To get this functionality you have to write your custom HttpControllerFactory.

While it is possible to place WebApi Controllers in different Areas, ASP.NET MVC 4 RC will still treat these ApiControllers as if they all reside in the same namespace. This is a limitation of the DefaultHttpControllerSelector, which is responsible for selecting the appropriate ApiController.
