By following the steps on this doc, I was able to add a new property in an existing resource bundle file set in English and Chinese. But I don't know how to save this addition. Initially, it seems good. I click the save button several times and then navigate away from the newly added entry. When I came back, the new key is there but the values are gone. Looking at the files on the disk, only one file has the key, no other changes there. I am using the latest Intellij on Windows 7.
It's a known bug in 2020.1 and 2020.1.1 releases.
The fix is available since IntelliJ IDEA 2020.1.2 RC (build 201.7846.53), released on May 26, 2020.

After updating my VS 2022 last week to version 17.4.0 the add quick file is not working anymore.
I used to use Mads Kristensen extension but now, with this new version, the extension was replaced by a built-in feature and when I type shift+f2 the Add New Item dialog shows up, I type something like Test.cs or ITest.cs and just an empty file is created.
I've already tried uninstalling the extension but it didn't work either.
Does anybody with the same problem?
The problem continues but for those that use Mads Kristensen Add New File extension, there is a way around it.
Go to Tools -> Options -> Environment -> Keyboard and remove the shortcut for AddQuickFile.
After that find NewEmptyFile (the full name is ProjectandSolutionContextMenus.Project.Add.NewEmptyFile) and assign the SHIFT+F2 shortcut to it.
At least while the VS2022 doesn't work well, we can continue to use the extension.
I'm on IntelliJ 2019.2.4 (Ultimate) I'm not sure of the version I upgraded from, but it was from 2018 for sure. I noticed this annoying changelist below my default changelist in a very click-baity way, and I can't find a setting to get rid of it. Trying to delete it prompts me to delete the actual file in that changelist, which I don't want to do. It's nothing I've set up, and seems to be something IntelliJ is doing automatically.
(For posterity/if the image dies, my screenshot shows my changelist with some files I changed in default, and then a second, unwanted changelist below that says 'People who change the files in the active changelist also change:
The node you see is not actually a changelist, and there are no changed files inside it. It lists files that, based on your project git history, are usually changed in the same commits as the files in the active changelist, and appear related to the changes you applied.
The purpose of this node is to suggest some files you might want to change and commit in addition to already modified files, so there is no need to amend or create a new commit with these changes later if the files do need to be modified as well.
If you don't want to see it, just disable the Show files related to the active changelist option under the Eye in the Local Changes toolbar. Disabling the ChangeReminder plugin would also work, but is unnecessary.
I'm not sure if this is an intellij version control or SVN issue, but is there a way to disable all auto subversion / version control update checks in Intellij?
When you click the version control tab at the bottom of the IDE and look at local changes, the lists often say "Updating...".
I want to use subversion, but for huge projects the "updating" in intellij version control sometimes takes a good 10 minutes, and it starts randomly for no reason, even when I have not made changes. I checked the settings and I don't have "check every" or "refresh every" options checked under subversion.
Basically I never want Intellij to stop checking the whole project and server every time I make a small change to a file.

This means IDE is refreshing the local status of the files to correctly show them in the Local changes and other respective places. It is not related to remote servers.
It could take long because of e.g. huge number of unversioned files in the project. In this case, adding them to svn:ignore should help.
Can anyone lead me to any useful link for forcing file icon refresh in new 10.8.2 version of Finder?
I'm working on this problem for last few days and I have tried almost any solution which can
be found on internet, but those are all old samples which are compatible with old versions of Finder and do not work on newer versions of Finder (which are rebuilt on Cocoa framework).
I tried to use few commands from apple script tool to update files in Finder ('update item with necessity'), I tried few plugins from internet (nudge, finder-Refresh...), I also tried support for communication with external Mac application through ScriptingBridge framework (although very useful) but nothing gave me a desired result.
I have noticed that NSWorkspace class contains two methods: iconForFile and setIcon:forFile,
and although I could integrate this two functions in application, iconForFile function is returning image of reduced quality, so I'm stuck in that direction also.
Any idea or suggestion will be highly appreciated.
If you need to update one Application icon, just touch the App.app folder.
Close the finder windows and issue the command:
touch /Applications/App.app
Create a visible file and delete it. This will refresh finder window.
To reset for every application under Mountain Lion, try the following in Terminal:
/System/Library/Frameworks/CoreServices.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/LaunchServices.framework/Versions/A/Support/lsregister -kill -seed -r
That will kill all existing objects in launch services and reseed them recursively from the standard locations (/Applications, etc).
If you have a specific application whose data you need to override existing information, you can try:
/System/Library/Frameworks/CoreServices.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/LaunchServices.framework/Versions/A/Support/lsregister -f <path>
Although I've had limited luck with the latter working in some cases, so you may end up doing the former afterwards.
Type into Terminal

I had this problem too. I had a .app i wanted to change the icon of.
Structure of my .app:
...noida.app/
...noida.app/Contents/
...
...noida.app/Contents/Resources
...noida.app/Contents/Resources/myicon.icns
...noida.app/Contents/MacOS
...
...noida.app/Contents/plist.Info
Now I would change the icon in the resources folder. Then I made new files in all folders. It wouldn't work. The only place that i could make a new file tha twould update the icon was in the ...noida.app/ so i made new file at ...noida.app/junk folder and then it updated.

I was just fighting with this on 10.10 (although it's been a problem for years now) and the only solution I found to force refreshing a bundles icon in the Finder was to:
Open the "Get Info Window" of the bundle you want to update and select the icon by clicking on it.
Paste another image as the icon (you could have copied this from another file or from any other location with this pasteboard data).
Press return and make sure the icon changed in the Finder.
Delete the icon by pressing the delete key.
After that the bundles icon was refreshed to the new .icns file in the bundles resource folder.
I have a real problem with making Play2.0 work with IntelliJ EAP version (120.152).
I create an empty project without module in IntelliJ
I create a new application using the play command, and using play idea at the end
I then add this module from IntelliJ, using "Import from existing module"
Now, I have two folders too chose from when importing the module.
1. .idea
2. .idea_modules
After seeing some different ways on the internet,
I chose .idea_modules -> moduleName.iml
(I have tried all the others just to check)
Here is what bothers me the most
Anyone had anything similar? I am not sure why this is, every other screenshot I have seen from this, have a path behind the red text (making it work!), which I do not.
Any suggestions what I can do from here to hopefully make this work?
My Scala facet looks like this in the IDE, but I have not seen any Play documentation that goes into modifying the facet, so I just leaved it as is
In IntelliJ 12 - the same as in IntelliJ 11 you can open the Play's project since version 2.0.2, just by using option 'Open project' in the start window view.
You don't need to create blank project first in IDE.
play new test-leda + all required steps by play console

play idea + wait for bash prompt which indicates finalization
Open Leda and choose Open project
Find the folder test-leda and just click Choose
