App is working fine. Also working fine on Emulator and my mobile phone. But the problem is that it is not showing this page on my browser. Open Image
I created this project in react native, Using following commands.
expo init DoneWithIt
choses a Manage workflow with blank template
When I type "npm start" in terminal (using VS code terminal)
it shows Open Image
It is not opening in browser like this

Have you tried opening your browser manually at localhost and port 19000? Or simply press "w" in the same terminal after it starts so it opens for you the browser as you can see in the second image.
The Web UI is now deprecated in favor of a more advance terminal interface: https://blog.expo.dev/sunsetting-the-web-ui-for-expo-cli-ab12936d2206
To me the "w" option is grey out but I can still run it and it will let me know that some dependencies are missing. I try to install them but it doesn't succeed. I guess just made sure that the Web UI will not work anymore.
You will see the below error if the 'w' option is grayed out or if the 'w' doesn't work,
It looks like you're trying to use web support but don't have the required dependencies installed.
Please install react-native-web#~0.18.9, react-dom#18.1.0, #expo/webpack-config#^0.17.2 by running:
npx expo install react-native-web#~0.18.9 react-dom#18.1.0 #expo/webpack-config#^0.17.2
If you're not using the web, please ensure you remove the "web" string from the platform's array in the project Expo config.
install the mentioned packages and re-start the app(npm start).
Enter w, this should work.
The reason why the application is not giving you the web browser ability is because you're missing some packages. Thus far this is the version that's support out there. Try and run this code below:
npx expo install react-native-web#~0.18.9 react-dom#18.1.0 #expo/webpack-config#^0.17.2
I have started my application and install npm packages using npm install, then as usual I have installed debug version of the application using npx react-native run-android, then started the application with npx react-native start. The works fine until I want to use debugger-ui and debug my application using react-native-debugger or fb-flipper.
The problem occurs when pressing r in the terminal and choosing Debug from the modal that appears on the emulator screen.
This is the error that I'm facing with int he terminal:
And also this one in the React Native Debugger tab in the chrome console:
As I'm using the latest version of react-native-reanimated in this project and have followed the installation instructions in the documentation I have used this command for installing that:
npm install react-native-reanimated#next
I have been looking into documentation and after reading that really carefully I have just figured out that the react-native-reanimated#2 is not going to work with react-native-debugger and you can run debugger-ui the documentation recommended to use facebook flipper another amazing developer tool for react-native apps.
I am fairly new to React Native. I am building a basic app using expo-cli. I don't have a deep understanding on how it works, but I've been following tutorials online on how to use it. Today, I was working on it and used 'npm start' command to launch the expo portal so I could demo my app on a virtual machine but it says it can no longer find the link to the .json file. Can someone please help me to get it working again.
Looks like you're one directory up? Try cd WhatsUp and then run npm start again.
I'm trying to run my React Native app as a web site, on a browser.
I tried to go according to https://necolas.github.io/react-native-web/docs/installation/ but the instructions on the Setup page are not clear.
I found some (rare) posts regarding this, but they are old (2019) and seem to deviate from the info in the link above.
I use yarn android to run it on android.
So, I tried using yarn web. Didn't work.
Also, tried the basic react-native start followed by react-native run-web.
It seems the run-web command is not what is needed.
Any assist appreciated.
P.S. I initialized my project through Expo, as a Bare Workflow project. Hope that helps
According to the docs:
Expo for web can work on any React Native project. When you initialize a new project with a bare workflow template using expo-cli, if you run yarn web or npm run web it will start up expo-cli and open your project in a web browser.
The same guides for web from the managed workflow apply here.
So basically just initialise your project using expo init project-name and then select bare workflow or managed workflow. After that you can execute npm run web. It will open up the browser and run the web version of it. Keep in mind that there are some incompatibility of libraries from expo, for example, the Webview is incompatible on the web so you need to switch when on web to an iframe or so.
this error appear suddenly after updating expo-cli to version 3.2.3
I can't manage to run the application, it displays error like this when I run expo start / yarn start
Trying to open the project in iOS simulator...
Opening exp://127.0.0.1:19000 in iOS simulator
Expo Press ? to show a list of all available commands.
Fetching the user profile failed
getaddrinfo ENOTFOUND exp.host
even I open expo.host from the browser loading.. I tried using 2 internet providers, change dns, flush dns, etc. still not loaded.
I solved this by deleting all expo related files and folders in my project
.expo and .expo-shared specifically.
when you run expo start, expo will automatically regenerate those files.
Make sure you are connected to the same network as your phone and PC,
you can try signing in and starting the project from your recent development tab on expo client.
if this dosen't work try reomving some devDependencies that you're not really using, then delete the node modules and install afresh.
I was facing the similar issue. It got resolved, as I logged in to the expo in my project folder.
Using expo w, you can check if you are logged-in in expo. and use expo login command to login
