#Errors in SSMS built-in reports - ssms

From my local computer I am using SQL Server 2016 Management Studio client (SSMS) to connect to a SQL Server installed on a remote computer. I connect using Windows Authentication method.
My SQL Server Management Studio 2016 installed in my local computer shows below versions installed:
Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio 13.0.16100.1
Herramientas cliente de Microsoft Analysis Services 13.0.1700.441
Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) 10.0.17763.1
Microsoft MSXML 3.0 4.0 5.0 6.0
Microsoft Internet Explorer 9.11.17763.0
Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0.30319.42000
Sistema operativo 6.3.17763
SQL Server version installed on remote computer is as below:
When I build reports I get a lot of "#Error" printed on it. As an example, to build a report about all blocked transactions I go to Server node -> Reports -> Standard Reports -> Activity – All Blocked Transactions. It shows "#Error", see below screenshot (in this screenshot there are no blocking transactions):

It seems it is caused by an out-of-memory exception. Restarting SSMS corrected the problem. After restarting SSMS, built-in reports are correctly generated, no more #Errors are shown.
I found this solution here.

Unable to browse Integration Services on SQL 2016

I've installed SQL Server 2016 (Standard Edition) on a Windows Server 2016, selecting Integration Services to be installed too. I've also installed SSMS and SSDT from the same installation media.
I am running SSMS as administrator and can connect to the local Database engine.
My user is a Windows and SQL Server admin.
However I cannot connect (explicitly using the server name) or even browse to the local Integration Services?
Receiving the following error.
SSIS not browsable and can't connect
Having already searched for an answer to this problem, many suggest checking that the service is running etc. which can be seen in the Services and SQL Configuration Manager.
Services shown as running
I've also tried turning off the Windows Firewall to establish if that is the cause of the problem but it had no effect.
Anyone got any ideas what might be preventing it from being accessible?
I've had this problem last month. In my case I had to install the 32-bit version of access database engine (on my 64 bit windows).
Sql data tools works with 32-bit

The later SSMS versions (16.x and 17.x) will only connect to their respective versions SQL 2016 and SQL 2017. Microsoft is planning to retire the older method in favor of the SSISDB, which is more secure.
Link to the official statement from Microsoft (in the note box).
I have had the same problem and the solution was to install the old interface on top of the existing one (SQL Server Management Studio 2016). Here's link to the installation file. After having installed this, I can now connect to the integration services. You will have to set it up of course and give yourself Rights

SSDT installed in VS 2012, grayed out in SSMS 2012

Before I start, I have Googled the hell out of this issue to no avail and the tech support at my office is equally stumped (shocking).
I installed SQL Server Data Tools for Visual Studio 2012 from MSDN. It is currently working in Visual Studio 2012. I can create Integration Services projects without a problem - which is awesome.
However, when I open SQL Server Management Studio 2012, the options for Analysis Services, Integration Services, and Reporting Services are all grayed out. I am 90% sure I'm running Enterprise SSMS (please correct me if I'm wrong based on the "About" info below).
Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio 11.0.2100.60
Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) 6.1.7601.17514
Microsoft MSXML 3.0 4.0 5.0 6.0
Microsoft Internet Explorer 9.11.9600.17420
Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0.30319.18444
Operating System 6.1.7601
So my question is... how do I connect to these services in SSMS?
I know these "special services" require "special access rights granted by your DBA. After I got rights to see Integration Services, a "Integration Services Catalog" folder showed up under my server in the Object Explorer.

Unable to install Windows Web Services API for Remote Debugging with VS2012

I'm trying to remote debug using visual studio 2012 and windows server 2008 not R2. I recieve the following error when setting up the remote debugger.
Has anyone else been able to install 2012 remote debugger on Windows server 2008 that is not R2?
This is the full error message after I hit configure remote debugging.
According to VS 2012 system requirements remote debugging is not supported on Windows Server 2008.
At this MS forum post Brad Sullivan the Program Manager for Visual Studio Debugger has posted the following:
There is a known issue in the installer for Remote Tools for Visual
Studio 2012 that is breaking remote debugging on Windows Server 2008.
While we work on this issue, you can use the following work-around:
1) If not already, please install “Platform Update for Windows
Server 2008 (KB971644)” from Window Update. It will
install KB971512, KB971513, and KB960362 in “Control Panel -> Programs
and Features -> Installed Updates”.
2) Install Windows Live Essentials from
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=255474
Following these instructions should prevent you from seeing the error
regarding Windows Web Services API.
As odd as it sounds, I can confirm this to have fixed the issue for me.

How to install Bug Tracker .Net tool software in my System?

I have installed ASP .NET 2.0 MVC3, SQL server express 2005 and SQL server Management studio express 2005 and IIS 7 in my system. If I am opening the install_btnet file, and providing the SQL server details also it is not getting connect. It is giving error as Service unavailable. Any one suggest me how to install Bug tracker .NET tool in my system with examples.
Thank you.
First thing to check it that your SQL 2005 express instance is running and allowing remote connections. Open the Administrative Tools >> Services and look for the service called "MSSQLSERVER$SQLEXPRESS" and ensure it is started.
Next, open the SqlServer Configuration Utility (on the server or PC where SQL 2005 Express is Installed) Look for the Client Configuration Option and Select "Client Protocols".
Set TCP/IP to "Enabled" and you should now be able to connect to your SQL server.
Note that even if your BugTracker.NET install is on the same machine, it may still be using the network to connect to your SQL Instance.
Hope this helps,
Dave

"Reports -> custom report" menu option in SQL server 2005 management studio express is missing. why?

I have installed:
MS SQL Server 2005 9.00.4035.00 SP3 Express Edition
Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio Express 9.00.2047.00
Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) 6.0.6001.18000 (longhorn_rtm.080118-1840)
Microsoft MSXML 3.0 4.0 5.0 6.0
Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0.6001.18000
Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0.50727.3074
Operating System 6.0.6001 (windows vista)
I installed SQL Server Performance Dashboard. And I'm trying to follow the steps here: Installing SQL Server 2005 Performance Dashboard Reports
This step is included: "Right click on any node in the Object Explorer and click on Custom Reports..."
But in my contextual menu there is no "reports" option, what am I missing?
Quick guess: patch your client tools (Management Studio) to SP3/4035 too.
You have the SP1 RTM tools (build 2047) and custom reports are for SP2 onwards
It's generally best to keep client and server (even express) patched to the same level.
