Missing analysis service when creating new project - ssas

I have installed SSAS and created a project. After two months working with seas, now when creating a new project, the analysis service is not available. but I can open old SSAS projects. How I can create another new SSAS project.

In Visual Studio (Open as Admin):
- Go to "Tools" >> "Extensions and Updates..."
- In the left pane, click on "Online"
- In the Search box on the top right enter "SSDT"
- check if the Extension "Microsoft Analysis Services Projects" is installed
In case it is installed and you still cannot choose Analysis Services as New Projects, you need to un-install the Extension and follow the instructions on the following website and install SSDT (SQL Server Data Tools):
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/ssdt/download-sql-server-data-tools-ssdt?view=sql-server-ver15
Visual Studio 2019: Install Extension "Microsoft Analysis Services Projects"
Visual Studio 2017: Either install Extension, if that doesn't work for you, intall SSDT with the standalone installer: Download SSDT for Visual Studio 2017 (15.9.4)
Visual Studio 2015 and earlier: Install via SSDT standalone installer required
It depends on which version of Visual Studio you are using. In 2015 everything needed to be installed via the standalone installer SSDT. In 2017 both the standalone installer and extensions exist, whereas in 2019 the standalone installer got replaced by the extensions. The super confusing part is, that there is the option to install "SSDT" during the installation of Visual Studio. Unfortunately installing SSDT during installing Visual Studio does not include Analysis/Reporting/ Integration Services.

but when I try to create new SSIS project I dont see Business Intelligence as shown in the pic2
Your help is appreciated
ok here is the solution,
what i did is i uninstall SSDT, again tried to instal SSDt but this time I selected "Visual Studio Professional 2017" and only "Sql Server Integration Service" as shown in pic1
and now I have Business Intelligence template when I want to create new project as shown in pic2
I had the same issue, So install the SSIS first and then SSRS and then SSAS will install everything and solve the issue.

TFS 2015 visual studio build task does not support VS 2017

We have a build definition in TFS 2015 that have worked fine with Visual Studio 2015 projects and solutions. We have now decided to upgrade to Visual Studio 2017 and thus we would like to target Visual Studio 2017 in the Visual Studio build task. We have installed Visual Studio 2017 on the build agent. Unfortunately the only options available int the Visual Studio build task are 2012, 2013, 2015 and Latest. We have tried latest but it does not find Visual Studio 2017 on the build agent. It won't work with the msbuild task either.
I have a similiar issue and resolved by installing VS2017 in my build agent server and configuring MSBuild to point to my MSBuild 15.0 folder:
Add MSBuild to your build steps
On the Advanced options, expand and fill the 'Path to MSBuild' like the image below:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio\2017\Enterprise\MSBuild\15.0\Bin
VS2017 RTM is released recently while TFS2015 was released before. That's why there is no VS2017 option in VS Build Task in TFS2015 Server. If you upgrade your server to the latest TFS2017, you would see "Visual Studio "15" (preview)" option listed in VS Build Task which is the version for VS2017 preview. And in the feature, the option will be updated to VS2017 which is the same as VSTS.
we are facing a similar issue and it is not possible for us to update ourselves as it is maintained on a company level where we cannot take that much influence.
However our team wanted to switch to VS2017 and make use of the C# 7 features. That's why we tried it as well with replacing the build steps from Visual Studio Build to MSBuild. Sadly this did not work as expected (we got some errors during the build).
As our main objective is to use the C# 7 features we looked for a way how to still achieve that at the time with Visual Studio 2015 remaining on the Build Server. We ended up using the nuget package Microsoft.Net.Compilers that, when used in a project, will use that compiler instead of the installed one.
More on this can be found in this Thread.
It seems the updates to the build tools are installed via the command line of the VS2017 installer.
See the docs for details.
Just adding another thing: if you're using custom build template make sure to edit it and modify the ToolPath attribute value to:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio\2017\Enterprise\MSBuild\15.0\Bin

Upgraded WinForms project from VS2005 to VS2012. Now my ReportViewer DLLs are missing

I got a copy of a Visual Studio 2005 project from a friend. The project referenced the DLLs Microsoft.ReportViewer.Common and Microsoft.ReportViewer.WinForms. On my machine I have Visual Studio 2012. I upgraded the project. The references to these DLLs are broken, understandably, because they are Windows locations, not in the VS project. So, I want to delete the references and re-create, but I cannot find the DLLs on my machine. Do they not get installed with Visual Studio 2012? Can I download them?

Which explains the problem, the target .NET version of your project is 2.0. The ReportViewer included with VS2012 requires at least 3.5.
Fix it with Project + Properties, Application tab, Target Framework combobox. You'll then find the ReportViewer control back under the "Reporting" header in the toolbox.
These have been replaced by Report Server. Though if you'd copy them over from your VS2005 machine you should still be able to use them as binary references in your solution. You can download the binaries from the MSDN Download site.
Though there should be binaries for Visual Studio 2012 as well. I suspect they will get installed when you install the SQL Server Development tools, which include the SQL Server Reporting Server components.
You can try to use the Redistributable package for Visual Studio 2010.

Visual Studio 2012 Premium crashes when I use the Solution Configuration Manager

Visual Studio 2012 Premium crashes when I use the Solution Configuration Manager (or drop down on tool bar) to switch from Debug solution config to Release. As soon as I make the selection to the Release config, I get a dialog with a progress bar stating it is looking for a solution to the problem and after a few seconds that dialog closes VS closes and another dialog opens that states it is restarting Visual Studio. I get this same behavior if I try to create a new configuration from within the Solution Configuration Manager; i.e., as soon as I save the new config VS crashes. During the crash I'm not given the option in the dialogs to get detailed info for the crash.
This did not happen with the same code in VS2010 and Win7.
My work-around is to modify the Debug config to be what I need for Release, and then put it back to what I need for Debug.
VS 2012 was installed on a clean (not an update) install of Windows 8. I've installed all the latest updates for both Win8 and VS. Here is the Visual Studio boiler-plate info:
Microsoft Visual Studio Premium 2012
Version 11.0.50727.1 RTMREL
Microsoft .NET Framework
Version 4.5.50709
Installed Version: Premium

I'm having problems connecting to TFS VS2010 from VS 2008

If you are not able to connect to TFS VS2010 from VS2008. This might save you some time.
Connecting from VS2008 to TFS VS2010
Step:1 Make sure that Service Pack 1 is installed with Sql Server 2008
Step:2 Make sure that Service Pack 1 is installed with VS2008
Step:3 Make sure that Team Explorer is installed in VS 2008
Step:4 Make sure that Service pack 1 is updated for Team Explorer
Step:5 After all these Service Packs are installed on your machine, follow the below path
CmdPrompt> regedit
Hkey_Current_User>Software>Microsoft>VisualStudio>9.0>TeamFoundation> Right Click Servers>New>String Value
Give the complete URL path which look like ‘http://swstfs:8080/tfs/DefaultCollection’
Step:6 Close everything and open VS2008
File>Open>TeamProject
Step: 7 Connect.
I connected to TFS, but the problem is while I am trying to open the solution through VS2008 into TFS it is showing me an error
"This project (fmPilot.SSIS.ClientIntegrations.sln) cannot be opened from source control because it was created by a version of Microsoft Visual Studio that is incompatible with this one.
If this is the case, you may be able to open it from source control using that version of Microsoft Visual Studio, and then use Microsoft Visual Studio to open the local copy."
I also tried it through VS2010 but it is showing me an error
"Cannot be openned because its project type(/dtproj) is not supported bby this version of the application."
Can somebody help me on that..... I google it some says that permission might be the reason.. Please help me...
Thanks,
Karthik
Make sure that you have Business Intelligence Development Studio (BIDS) installed on your machine. Having just Visual Studio 2008 doesn't mean that you can open SSIS packages.
To verify whether you have BIDS installed:
Open Visual Studio 2008 IDE. Click Help and About Microsoft Visual Studio.
Make sure that you see SQL Server Integration Service.
Another way to verify is by trying to create a new project in VS 2008. You should see Business Intelligence Projects under Project types.
If you do not see this, then it means you don't have BIDS installed on your local machine. You can install BIDS by installing SQL Server 2008 client tools.
Following link shows how to install SQL Server 2008 client tools.
