Shopify: How to collect statistics about listed applications I Shopify Store? - shopify

I would like to collect statistics about listed apps in Shopify Store, like number of listed apps, number of reviews for an app, installations, average rate, app category and so on without any private information about stores which have installed the application. I find several blogs which managed to collect such info but unfortunately they are without open code. Is there any way to reach such info through API or something?
UPD
I have found ready-made solution on github https://github.com/usernam3/shopify-app-store-scraper

You can use any open source web scraper to deal with that. Simply scrape the Shopify App store, and build your stats.
You need no API. Just scripting of your own device. Pretty basic stuff.

Is there an AliExpress API that can submit dropship orders instead of using Oberlo?

Currently I am using the Shopify app Oberlo with it's chrome extension to manually send over dropship orders one by one.
This works find but I have between 100 to 1000 orders daily during testing.
Can anybody recommend a way to automate this using either an API directly from AliExpress (which the affiliate API is all I have been able to find) or possibly a laravel wrapper integrated with Shopify that has the ability to post dropship orders automatically.
Much appreciated!
I've been looking for similar documentation on AliExpress and found the dropshipping subsection of their API:
Get Product Info: https://developers.aliexpress.com/en/doc.htm?docId=35321&docType=2
Place an Order: https://developers.aliexpress.com/en/doc.htm?docId=35446&docType=2
Get Tracking info from a previous order: https://developers.aliexpress.com/en/doc.htm?docId=40656&docType=2
Other less-common dropshipping APIs are available from the sidebar navigation of any of these.
It also appears that you have to register as a seller (even though you're just buying) to get access to these dropshipping API.
You'll have to build a shopify app that can receive your orders and turn around to place them on AliExpress. I haven't seen a tool that can place orders automatically without coding.

How can I detect if a store has 'Advanced Shopify' through the API

Shopify has various levels of service that has include various features.
https://www.shopify.com/pricing
I only want to show features of my Shopify app, to customers that have those features.
Is there a way to detect, via the Shopify API, what version of Shopify my customers have?
For example I want to know if someone connecting to my app with their Shopify store, has 'Advanced Shopify' so I can show them specific features.
I have looked through the Shopify APIs a lot, https://help.shopify.com/api/reference, and googled it extensively, haven't seen anything.
You can get store type information by accessing /admin/shop.json of the store using api.
Check the "plan_name" attribute of the json.

Web app idea directions

I have an idea for a web app project, however, due to not having any programming knowledge, I'm first asking here for directions. Essentially, I wonder if the idea is realistic and what the most effective way could be for me to tackle it.
I want to combine several open-data sources, some in the form of API's (e.g. Google maps), others in the form of statistics in Excel sheets. Like a Mashup of different sources? The idea is to use the data to perform some data crunching and in effect provide some insights from this data in an aggregated way. I have previously played around with dashboards during an internship and I am attracted by the idea to maybe produce a Single page application for my idea with some visualisation. Any thoughts on this?
I have looked at the following services online, but I have no idea if they can help me produce a web app which aggregates different data sources and that allows for nice presentation:
Zoho Creator,
QlikSense,
Sproutcore,
Caspio
Any thoughts on this are highly appreciated!
Best regards

BigCommerce Requirements to "Join the Technology Partner Program"

I want to write an app for BigCommerce.
On the BigCommerce developer website, it says
"Before you begin, you’ll need a sandbox store. BigCommerce offers app developers free sandbox stores through its Technology Partner Program. To get your sandbox store, apply to become a BigCommerce Technology Partner. To be approved as a partner, you will need:
A website.
The ability to support users of your app."
I have written code to modify themes using trial stores in the past without being a partner. (That is not what I am trying to do here, I did that in the past. I am trying to write an app, ANY app. I made the statement about modifying themes with a trial store to emphasize the fact that I know that I can do that and I am assuming that the sandbox store has other capabilities like the ability to access the control panel code.) As far as I can see, an app will need to integrate with the control panel code that I cannot see from just having a store. So, I am assuming that the sandbox store issued when approved as a partner will have this capability.
I sent an email to BigCommerce asking about the approval requirements and their reply was this.
“you must prove that you are an application developer. This consists of a website where you showcase the functionality and current companies that are possibly using your app.
If you have issue with the requirement to be approved as a partner you will need to speak with the team that does the approvals. Partnersupport#bigcommerce.com”
This reply came from appstore#bigcommerce.com. Why wasn't my email forwarded to Partnersupport#bigcommerce.com to begin with so I could get a more comprehensive answer? I did forward it to them and I am still waiting for an answer.
I am confused about this requirement.
I want to write a BigCommerce app. Are they saying that I cannot write a BigCommerce app unless I have written a BigCommerce app before? Are they saying that I have to have written other apps in general? If I write a great app, why would it matter if it is my first?
After I write the app, I can set up a webpage for it and submit it for approval.
How can I "showcase the functionality and current companies that are possibly using your(my) app" when it is an app specifically written for BigCommerce?
I cannot write the app unless I understand how to integrate it with BigCommerce.
As far as I can see, I cannot understand how to integrate it with BigCommerce unless I am a partner.
Am I missing something here?
Is there some other way to approach this?
Sr Marketplace Mgr for BigCommerce here. I think there are a few items of clarification I can offer:
You do not have to have an existing BigCommerce app to be approved for a partnership. You do however need some evidence of your existing work. If you don't have a portfolio, website, or other examples of your development work, it's difficult for our Partners team to determine if you're a qualified developer.
Partner apps will not have access to modify the BC control panel or core code. Apps must use our public APIs to work with a BC user's data or settings. Any settings that are in the CP but not in our APIs can't be modified directly via an app.
Any storefront changes - such as an edit to a BC theme to display weight in two different units - would have to be done using HTML/CSS/JS in the theme itself. We don't have an API for programmatically changing a storefront theme at this time.
If any of your questions for BigCommerce involve your app or app development, you'll need to direct them to my team at appstore#bigcommerce.com. Directing questions regarding your app to partnersupport#bigcommerce.com will be forwarded to my team. That channel is primarily for questions around the Partners program in general, and won't be able to provide detailed support on the app developer program.
Hopefully this clears up some of your confusion, please reach out to me at appstore#bigcommerce.com and I'll be happy to respond myself if you need more info.

How to store postman collections in source control

I am using POSTMAN collections to test my API before opening it up. I work with a team of developers and we would like to share/add/edit our collections amongst each other.
Doing this in source control is proving slightly tricky as can be seen in this comment on the GitHUB page:
This issue still persists in Version 2.1.1 (packaged)
The order of requests might be deterministic now, but the diff of an exported collection from two different machines and users includes data that are not related to the collections exported. The diff is full of owner and other id conflicts if there are several people working on the tests at the same time.
What is the best way that we have of putting this data in some sort of version control system? Any suggestions otherwise?
Putting it in a VCS undoubtly will give you some headaches as you mentioned. Your best bet is to use Postmans functionality to share collections. Here is from the documentation found at https://www.getpostman.com/docs/sharing
Starting with Postman v0.9.3 you have the ability to share and manage your collections more effectively. The first thing you will have to do is create a Postman account. You can create one using your email ID or a Google account. Once you are signed in after creating an account, the collections you upload on Postman are linked to your account. You can delete them later through the "Shared collections" item in the navigation bar dropdown.
Collection v2 format removes most, if not all, problems with portability.
http://blog.getpostman.com/2015/06/05/travelogue-of-postman-collection-format-v2/
The format must be highly portable so that it can be easily transported between various systems without loosing functionality.
Source Control in Postman
The question about sharing collections so that you can collaborate with your teammates has been answered a few different ways, as described in other answers of this question such as by sharing the collection or by syncing to a team account.
Version Control in Postman
The other part of the question was about putting the Postman data into a version control system. Postman introduced some version control features for the paid team accounts, like being able to restore collections to a certain point in the activity feed.
The paid team accounts also get integrations to sync their collections to their own version control systems like GitHub for example. If you're on a free account, you can use the Postman API to build your own similar integration to update the collections.
This blog post talks about some of the version control features in Postman.
UPDATE: Postman released forking and merging in Postman app v6.7.1 so you can manage version control in the app.
To automatically share your existing postman collection you can use Postman Pro.
It is a paid service provided using which a team lead can purchase the complete pro- scheme for his team and work as an admin.
Postman pro enables the following and many more:
Any changes in the API are automatically reflected in Postman for all member
Members subscribe to the collections from the Team library and get notifications of any changes.

This is what I use with my team of automation testers.
