How to render multiple root elements in Xamarin forms? - xaml

I want to render two pages in Xamarin. One is the main page and the other one is a footer page- they both are .xaml files. The only problem is that the footer uses a ThriveGmbH.BottomNavigationBar.XF imported NuGet class and the Main Page uses a content page class. When I try to use both classes inside a single script I get a "multiple root elements" error. Is it possible to render both pages or call the footer page inside of the main page? Thank you in advance.

How to know at render time what partials are being used in a Razor page in ASPNET Core?

I have an ASPNET Core (.net6) project with a main page layout that automatically includes styles and scripts in the page bases on the page file name. Example: if you have a page called me/details (the file being me/details.cshtml) and there is a file called wwwroot/me/details.css, a reference to it will be included by my layout page inthe head of the html. The same happens for script files, but at the end of the body
I wanted to do the same for partials views. I want to include specific styles and script file references in the html for any partial views being rendered in the page, without extra code in the partials. Is there any way to know at render time, or at least at the middleware level, what partial views are being used in a page?

The custom layout isn't loading automatically

I have created a custom layout in Layout.hs. This is applied to a reporting page that has a different styling (CSS) and JS from the rest of the application.
The report page is accessed via link in the application.
The problem is that when landing on the report page the custom layout (CSS and JS) isn't applied automatically. It only kicks in after a manual refresh.
Any ideas how to fix this?

Image slider link to internal or external page on Sitefinity

(Sitefinity 6.x)
I am trying to create an image slider where each image in the page links to an internal or external page. I created a separate library for all the images that I want to show on the slider then using custom MVC widget I display the images in a slider. The problem that I have is there is no place in the image where I can link the image to open an existing internal page or external website.
Is there a way to add a properties to the original Image properties? so that users can select a page (using some sort of page selector just like in the navigation widget) or type in external page to link. If that is not possible, could you give me some ideas how to implement this?
I've been creating image rotators using Module Builder in Sitefinity. What you could do is go to Administration -> Module Builder -> Create a Module, call it Image Slider, call the content type Slide. Add a couple fields, for the first call it Image and select Media for the type, this will use an image selector for the interface, then add another field called Link and use Short text for the type, this will hold the url. Unfortunately, Sitefinity doesn't include a Page Selector control as an available field yet so a text field will have to do. Save and activate your module, it will show up under Content -> Types of Content. Go ahead and add a few slides. Sitefinity has created a couple of widgets when you created the module, so if you edit a page, you'll see them under the "Content" widget section, probably at the bottom. Drag it on the page and set it to use the list template. Now open up the Sitefinity Explorer window in their Thunder Visual Studio plugin, under Common Widget Templates, you'll see an Image Slider folder, you'll want to edit the list template since you'll be outputing all the slides into some carousel markup or something. From here you can use the default Sitefinity image control and bind the link to a hyperlink that wraps the image control, this will link each image to whatever is in that field.
Hope that helps.

Setting template property from a content page (sitefinity 4.4)

the site that I'm working at is designed in a such way that CSS class is set for the tag on all the pages and the css classes used are different for all pages. Each page has common elements such as a header, a footer and a nav bar. I'd like to set up a single page template and include all common elements there but the body tag stands in the way. Is there a way to control a template from a content page? I know I can specify a code behind for content pages but i can't rely on content authors to enter it correctly each time they add a page. My current thinking is to set up multiple page template, one for each css class that is referenced in the body tag and put the common page elements into user controls. This is less than ideal because I will end up with lots of mostly identical templates and my user controls would not be editable easily. I guess I would have to use shared content items and such making the content authors hunt all over the site. I would have been much simpler to update the common header in a single page template.
Can someone please suggest a way?
I submitted a reply in the Sitefinity forums where you originally posted this, but just in case you check here first I'll ask the same question: how is the css class for body determined?
if it can be done programmatically you can use the code-behind of the Master Page for the template to set it so that it's handled automatically.
If this won't work, tell me more about how the css class is assigned and I will try to come up with an alternative.
hope this is helpful!

How to change global navigation of a web page but not the site in SharePoint 2010?

I created a web page with a custom page layout, the site the page is within has global navigation set to "Display the same navigation items as the parent site" and it was all good. I have now got the requirement to change the items in the global navigation for the page but keep the old setting for the site, how can I achieve this?
For a site I can go to site settings -> navigation and change the links as I like but the page is dependent on the site it is within. I don't have to start over and create a new site do I (instead of a simple page)?
Thanks in advance.
Unless you do some kind of trickery (like Javascript embedded in the page) to do otherwise, the navigation settings are shared for all pages within the site.
If you wanted to get rid of global navigation for a particular page, you could customize your master page to put a special CSS class on the element wrapping it, and use some CSS inline on that page (ie. in a content editor webpart) to hide it.
