I want to print Excel sheet (Single sheet) which is stored in a path of local computer using a click of button on MS Access form. For some business reasons I need to provide flexibility to show the print setup dialog box which we normally get if we were printing Excel sheet from outside, so that user can select the printer, select what part of sheet to print, copies to print etc. I currently have code as shown below:-

I have an Excel macro that performs a few functions on a document (Creates as form, and a few emails) all from MS-Word documents. If the macro is executed from the main spreadsheet (where the macro is), everything works normally. I want to place this macro on the ribbon allowing a user to launch it without having (or knowing where the main excel document is located or having it open). I created a sub to check to see if the spreadsheet was open and modified the ribbon to include an icon for the macro.
Which works. However, when launched from the ribbon while the main Excel spreadsheet is not open, it opens the workbook and runs the macro in entirety (Without executing the open workbook line of the macro). I assume the spreadsheet is being open because the macro that is being called resides with it (makes sense). Since the macro is dependent on the data contains in the spreadsheet, I need to allow the users to modify it and then re-running the macros from the ribbon again.
Does anyone have a recommended approach or best practices? Thank you in advance.

The Guide mentioned by Ricardo was not quite what I needed but it was helpful and did put me on the right track. Thank you again Ricardo. To get this working, I needed to do the following.
1 - Make the procedure above its own separate *.xlam file (saved as an add-in).
2 - Add the add-in to start automatically via the developers tab
3 - Add the Macro to the Ribbon.
I have modified the sample above to included the open statement along with the statement that executes a macros from another workbook.

I have multiple slides with multiple charts having sample data. I want to update these charts with actual data which is present in excel files located in the same folder. Can I do this via VBA inside ppt and how?
I read this answer edit chart data in powerpoint but this does not specify where I can mention the excel file and select the specific data.

One of the comments on the answer pointed out that once you Activate the ChartData, you're basically dealing with Excel. You can also launch an actual instance of Excel inside the Powerpoint VBA, then just open your workbooks, extract the data from them and put it into your ChartData objects like you would do if you were working in VBA in excel.
In order to launch an instance of Excel in powerpoint VBA try the following:

I am using VBA in MS Access for the first time and cannot get the following right:
Launch an excel file (without actually opening the file), then write to the last row in the excel file, and then save the file (with the same path and name as before, essentially replace the previous file), then close the excel file.
Please assist! So far I can write to an excel file, but cannot save and close without closing the whole MS Access application.
If you could please give a sample of working code to do the above, I will tailor it for my requirements.

First of all, in order to update and save a file like you want to, you have to open it first- so it is a little confusing/contradictory when you say that you don't want to 'actually open' an excel file... I took it to meant that you just don't want the excel application showing- which you would want something like this:

I am building a userform that adds data to a worksheet. I have a bunch of sub-routines for my userform, but I'm having issues accessing the variable I set to my worksheet. It's currently a local variable (in a sub) and have tried placing it in a module as discussed here: Can a worksheet object be declared globally in Excel VBA. I've done some further searching but didn't quite get the results I wanted.
I'm quite new to VBA and new to programming in general. I've used Excel quite a bit and want to do more by creating macros and such using VBA. Here's the code I'm currently using:

Obviously I cannot access local variables from another subroutine, so I have to make 'trees' global. I created a module and replaced Dim with Public, placed the second line of code in Workbook_Open(), and then tried accessing the 'trees' variable. I get an "Invalid outside procedure" and highlights the code in Workbook_Open() when I hit 'Debug'.
Essentially I just want to be able to access, say, trees.Cells(5,6) from any sub and I'm not sure what else to do with it. Any ideas? Thank you!
It must be a matter of placement ... if you open the VBA IDE and select the ThisWorkbook item in your VBAProject. Double click that item to open it, Select Workbook in the top left dropdown, Select Open in the top right dropdown. This will create your Workbook_Open Sub in the ThisWorkbook object:

Right click your VBAProject and Add Module. In that module you put the global variable:

Next you create your form, put the button on that and double click the button. This will generate the button event:

Now if you close the Excel Workbook (save the code and the workbook first) and reopen the Workbook the Workbook_Open() will kick in and set the Worksheet. Now call your Form, and click the button. This will fill the two cells on the given sheet....

I'm just trying to understand how to run a macro that is in one workbook but apply the macro procedure/changes into another workbook that is open.
What I am trying to achieve is one workbook is say the Template that will always be open. I have a macro in that Template file that works through a directory looking for xlsm files and opens them one at a time. What I want to do is when the workbook is opened another macro is called in the Template file which updates connection string details in the other open workbook.
I have the macros ready and they work, but I want to run them against another workbook without having to copy the code into it.
Is this at all possible?

Make a variable to store your workbook, then use it to refer to it. Something like this:
'place this at the top of the module so that the variable can be used by all macros
Private wb As Workbook
'place this in your "browse and open" macro in place right after you open a workbook
Set wb = ActiveWorkbook
'now you can do whatever you want by referring to wb
wb.Worksheets("Sheet 1").Range("A1") = "Cell A1"
wb.Worksheets("Sheet 2").Range("C3").EntireRow.Delete
wb.Close
You could also continue referring to ActiveWorkbook, but you have to make sure that it actually remains active all the time you want to work on it. If in the meantime you want to do something on your template workbook, you can refer to it as ThisWorkbook.
