How to stop Jetbrains Rider opening sidepanel on ALT-9 on macOS - intellij-idea

Suddenly JetBrain Rider opens the Repository side panel on ALT+9.
This is very inconvenient as ALT keys are for special characters on macOS. In my case ALT+9 is for } so anytime I want to insert an closing } the repository sidebar opens.
I could not find any suspicious entries in the Keymap preferences.
I'm pretty sure this wasn't the case yesterday but I have made no conscious changes to the system.

Check your Keymap and try to remove/change the key assigned to the tool windows:

problem with running files in intellije idea, itsApparently the problem was caused by windows security

Windows Defender might impact performance
Exclude IDE and project directories from antivirus scans:
C:\Users\shahrokh\IdeaProjects\untitled1
C:\Users\shahrokh\AppData\Local\JetBrains\IntelliJIdea2021.2
C:\Users\shahrokh.gradle
Alternatively, add the IDE process as an exclusion.
i search it in the special site of intellij idea ,and see it:
If you prefer to perform the necessary configuration manually, you can do so by following these steps:
Click the Start button
Type “Windows Security”
Click on “Virus and threat protection”
Click on “Manage settings” under “Virus & threat protection settings”
Scroll down if needed, and then click on “Add or remove exclusions”
For every folder shown in the notification, press the + button, select “Folder” from the menu, and select the folder.
but when i search Windows Security my system show me windows defender ,there arent these setting
In addition, I changed my anti-virus settings so as not to interfere with the intellij idea process. But again, the problem was not solved.
i use kaspersky protection
please help me
You don't have to worry about anything. IntelliJ will continue to function as it is intended to and will get the work done. I also get some messages like this sometimes and just ignore them. Again there's no major impact on the performance. Hope that I was able to help.
i uninstall my intellij idea then install it again and it solved

How to fix Ctrl Click in IntelliJ Idea

I found, that Ctrl-Click (for example, on class usage) doesn't work on one of my installations of Idea. Simultaneously:
Context menu action like Go To -> Implementation(s) works
Control click in PyCharm works
Machine is remote desktop Windows Server 2016. Idea is 2021.2.
What can be done to fix?
Had a similar issue due to Rider importing settings from Visual Studio on the first run. Resolved it by changing the Keymap (Rider->Preferences->Keymap->Keymap drop down) back to the default one (IntelliJ).
In our case it was really an old SonarLint plugin. Check in Settings / Plugins. After the update the problem was solved.
I was having the same problem and going to File -> Reapair IDE... fixed it for me.

How to use Mac OSX Keymap on Windows for WebStorm or IntelliJ IDEA?

I use WebStorm on both my Mac and Windows for work purposes.
I would like to know if it is possible to use the MAC OSX keymap on Windows.
On windows if you load the MAC OSX keymap the mappings don't seem to line up correctly. For instance I see the character Meta being used, however Windows doesn't seem to properly map that character.
I also would like to note I am using a Mac keyboard on the Windows PC.
How does Cmd (Meta) key map to your Windows keys?
You can get the full Mac keymap XML file and replace meta with whatever key it is on Windows. Some keys may not work or you may get conflicting mappings.
There is no easy and straightforward way that will work out of the box.
On Mac keymap is using Alt, Ctrl, Meta and Shift modifiers. This cannot be directly mapped to only 3 modifiers you have on Windows (Alt, Ctrl, Shift). You can't use Win as the modifier by default.
Also, a lot of the combinations with Win would be already taken by the OS (and the only way to disable these default mappings is via registry modification).
You are welcome to give it a try as there is a workaround to make Win work as a modifier in IntelliJ IDEA.
On Windows go to file > settings > keymap and in the keymaps dropdown select default and the meta (aka cmd) key will be replaced by ctrl.
There is a third party plugin by samvtrran that solve that: macOS For All
Here is the plugin description:
A keymap for Windows and Linux (and macOS if you really want!) that
rebinds common macOS 10.5+ shortcuts to non-Command keys. Some
shortcuts aren't 1:1 replacements of modifier keys, so please check
the key updates table.
If you notice any conflicting shortcuts or have a suggestion for a new
keybinding, please open an issue on GitHub.

Keyboard locks Win10 IntelliJ

Using: Windows 10
IntelliJ version: 15(.0.3)
Problem:
I currently have issues that several keys suddenly are 'locked' or something. Keys a-z, 0-9 and some others. Keycombinations like CTRL+F... etc., DELETE, BACKSPACE keep working. The keys are locked everywhere in Windows. And the combinations can still be used everywhere.
When happens this:
This happens when I work in IntelliJ and it always happend when I double pressed a String for selecting it, but not the first time (random). So maybe this is a key setting in Windows or something.
Temporary solution:
Reboot. :(
I already saw the following post: Weird keyboard locks in IntelliJ IDEA (delete & arrow keys, etc.)
This is an older post and there is assumed that I need to uncheck the Vim Emulator. I don't have this plug-in.
Edit: Current solution
Re-installed IntelliJ.
I've encountered this exact same issue and the the removal of the VIM plugin (didn't have a VIM emulator) fixed it, under intellij 2016.2.4 on windows 10.
Open settings -> Plugins -> search for VIM -> remove

Eclipse Plugin to "Open Explorer in this File location" for Package Explorer

Is there any plugin that lets me open the file I selected in the Package Explorer in windows explorer?
I am looking for an extra menu option in the right click menu of the package explorer.
Since Eclipse 4.4 (Luna) there is a Show in System Explorer command available from the context menu.
The Show In menu is also accessible through Alt+Shift+W on Linux/Windows and Alt+Cmd+W on macOS.
While there is a default setting that is suitable in most cases, the command for launching the system explorer can be configured on the General > Workspace preference page.
Hmmm... Looks like we all have this problem.
You can use this plugin to do exactly that and a bit more...
Sorry for self advertising... But I think this is what you are looking for!
I'm using StartExplorer for several years now. It's easy to use, is up-to-date and does simply, what you are expecting from it. You can install it through
Help > Eclipse Marketplace...
Usage:
If you can live without the context menu, you can even get this without any additional plugin, using just a launch configuration on the active selection.
I'm not sure if there's a direct way, but what you can do is right click on the file/folder, go to properties, then copy "Location" and put that string into a blank explorer window.
so,
right-click --> properties --> Location --> ctrl-c
open explorer window --> ctrl-v --> go button
You might want to have a look at http://marketplace.eclipse.org/content/eexplorer
keeps windows explorer in sync without the need to sync manually via context menu
less explorer windows -> less clutter
possibility to pop out native explorer
keyboard short cuts
:-)
Here's a simple plugin with just shell & file explorer
