/~username not pointing to public_html - cpanel

I am having an issue where http://51.38.68.201/~configsql/ is not pointing to the users public_html folder.
Is there a setting in the WHM panel I need to enable for this to work?
edit: i was under the impression that this was default.

You need to go to WHM >>> Security Center>> Apache mod_userdir Tweak
In the line for you domain click on the checkbox in the "Exclude Protection" column.
Click "Save" at the bottom of de page.

How can I set the default Apache landing page for a server running WHM?

I have a server with WHM installed for cPanel accounts. This comes with its own Apache configuration.
If I hit either the domain for this server (without a userdir temp url), or the IP, I get the default Apache landing page (cgi-sys/defaultwebpage.cgi).
I'd like to instead specify a folder on the server that would serve as this landing page/website. How do you modify WHM or the Apache settings to accomplish this (without screwing up WHM/cPanel in the process)?
Since you have mentioned WHM, an easier way to do would be to use the web editor feature provided by WHM itself to custom make the default page instead of the one shipped by cPanel.
Web template editor in WHM can be found in account section.

How to disable root login on Virtualmin

I’m using a vanilla Webmin / Virtualmin 3.93 GPL version on Centos 6. I’ve created a new user that has full privileges on Webmin, so now I want to disallow root from logging in, as obviously it could be a security issue.
Does anyone know how to do this? There must be an option for this somewhere but maybe I can’t see the wood for the trees.
I’ve disabled root SSH login manually, but I still can login to Webmin using the root account.
Thanks to #Charles for the pointers.
To remove the root user from Webmin, log in as a user with administrator privileges and click on Webmin -> Webmin Users.
In the list of users, either delete or remove all privileges from the root user.
After removing that user I could log in as my new administrator user and administer the server but not log in as root.
Problem solved, security through obscurity but still better than nothing.
Click on the Webmin tab, expand the Webmin section and select Webmin User. Then select the root user. Expand Security and Limit Options and select Only allow from listed addresses for IP Access Control. Enter the loopback address(127.0.0.1) into the field. The root user will still exist, but will be unable to login.
In Webmin -> Webmin Users click root and rename it to the username you use.

Orchard cms is not run when change permission in root folder of Plesk hosting

I deploy orchard cms to Plesk hosting
My site is running perfectly in Plesk Hosting
I go to Home > domains > (my domain) > Virtual Directories > Directory Properties
Currently I allow Write permission and Scripts and Executables
When I Un-check "Write Permission" and "Scripts and Executables"
=> It show "This Virtual Directory does not allow contents to be listed" in Chrome and "The website declined to show this webpage" in IE9
I check "Write Permission" and "Scripts and Executables" again, website is still does not work
Please show me how to debug, Please save me!
Thank in advance!
There is a super-easy solution to this problem: do not remove write permissions. They are needed. As to why re-checking those boxes didn't restore the site, you should talk to your hosting company, that seems like a problem on their side. You may want to restart the appdomain, see if it makes a difference.
If you want finer-grained control over what requires write permissions, app_data, modules, themes and media require it.

Change the user account directory name in WHM

is there a way to change the directory name WHM assigns to new cPanel accounts? Right now, the directories are named by the first eight letters in the domain name. Could I change that somehow?
In WHM panel,Navigate to Account Functions on the left side of the screen and click on Modify an Account. Highlight the domain and click Modify.
Now you can change the username of the domain which will also change the directory name

IIS 6 Logs M.I.A

I'm trying to find my IIS log files and I seem to be having a problem.
First off I've gone into IIS and right clicked on the site in question and selected properties...
Under the Web Site tab I have the Enable Logging check box checked.
The active log format is set to W3C Extended Log File Format.
To get where the log files should be being stored I click the Properties button next to the log format drop down list. It has this path as C:\WINDOWS\system32\LogFiles. Then below that input box it has the log file name as W3SVC1919798527\exyymmdd.log
The problem is that the folder W3SVC1919798527 doesn't exist in the C:\WINDOWS\system32\LogFiles folder... nor does it appear to exist on the PC anywhere... What am I doing wrong? Where can I find the log files for this site? Or am I totally misunderstanding what a log file is and where to find it?
Thanks
Ok, I had to check the Log Visits check box on the Home Directory tab when viewing the properties dialog box of the web site in IIS.
Is logging enabled for the site?
How about searching for anything that ends with .log? Or has w3svc in it?
