I need to remove the completely default animation from vue-select.
How to do it? I tried to replace the styles from the box with my own, but I didn’t get the result..
There is corresponding section in the docs, which states how to change transitions -
https://vue-select.org/api/props.html#transition
So, you can use it like this:
<v-select :options="options" transition="none"></v-select>

this is a question about best practices, in short: what is the best way to implement this function
I used the vue cli to create a project to train on. And so the normal template it provided me with was a side header thing with the content on the side, and so I made some modifications:
the issue is visualized down if the text explaination wasn't clear
and so what I had in mind was to add a slot in the header "the left side" to add the adding button, and the button wouldn't need to be visible in the other tabs, like the help tab.
App.vue
<template lang="pug">
TheHeader
routerView( v-slot="{ Component }" )
transition( name='slide-fade' mode='out-in' )
component( :is="Component" )
</template>
but here comes the issue, as you can see the tabs are in router views and the router view is beside the header component. the solution I had in mind was to:
add a list of strings in the App.vue with ["help", "course", ...] in the script section
the strings are linked to what router is being used (not very sure how to do this but I guess I could do a v-model to the v-slot being used)
pass the string to the header component
include a v-if statement with every tab's little widget
but I felt like this alone will jank the code a lot and thought if maybe there was an easier way to pass an entire component from one child to another it would be great. if there isn't I'd just like to know if it's the best practice I could do and proceed with this solution

the solution was to use the Built In <Teleport> Vue component. this way I just type <Teleport to="..."> and it will go where I want
I'm trying to style a Buefy button to look like a simple text-link.
For example, it is possible to use:
<b-button
tag="a"
type="is-text"
href="https://www.example.com"
>
Click here
</b-button>
This produces near the result I'm looking for, except I want to achieve a type such as is-text-red and is-text-blue to make the button appear as text of particular colours.
I could solve this by simply using:
Click here
Click here
But I want to use <b-button type="is-text-red"> to make an inline link.
Can anyone point me in a direction that involves Bulma CSS and/or Buefy CSS modifications that would achieve this?
I'm looking at the node_modules BButton component, and it looks like the type prop is passed through, so it looks possible to create a custom type somewhere that would be analogous to is-info and is-warning.
I would like to have text-only versions such as is-text-info and is-text-warning so I can use the button component to place inline anchor tags.
Stated concisely, how does a person add another type to <b-button> that provides arbitrary styling?
Check this link(https://buefy.org/documentation/customization/). You might need to define your own css overrides.
I am getting strange behaviour when trying to dynamically update the content of a slot in Vue with Vuetify. I'm sure this is just a function of misunderstanding how slots work.
I have a slot in a custom component, like so:
<template #selectButtons="slotProps">
<v-icon #click="dropToggle(slotProps.player)"
:color="dropColor(slotProps.player)"
class="mr-5"
>
fas fa-skull-crossbones
</v-icon>
</template>
When the user clicks on the icon, it is meant to toggle the icon to different colors.
I cannot seem to get dropColor to fire on each click consistently, HOWEVER, the weird part is, if I make some change inside the <v-icon> component, like say I just add {{dropColor(slotProps.player)}} inside the v-icon tags, then all of a sudden the code will work.
But then if I do a full refresh of the page, it stops working. Then I delete that code and put it back in, then it works again!
I have tried forceUpdate and keys on the v-icon tag.
Would appreciate any help
You are trying to pass function dropColor(slotProps.player) as props. The better idea is to replace function to an object or variable and change that object/variable within method dropToggle(slotProps.player) after #click event is firing .
I need clicking on one button to activate a click function on a different button. I expected to be able to use a ref prop on the button to achieve this but instead I get a 'Cannot read property '$refs' of null' console error.
<v-btn ref="modalButton" #click="modal">Open Modal</v-btn>
<v-btn #click="this.$refs.modalButton.click()">Click other button</v-btn>
Apparently this is because the component isn't created yet but I'm truly confused about what that means and how to solve the problem.
Please note the click has no '()'
<v-btn ref="modalButton" #click="modal">Open Modal</v-btn>
<v-btn #click="$refs.modalButton.$el.click">Click other button</v-btn>
Put "this.$refs.modalButton.click()" into a function - you can't refer to the modalButton that way in the HTML.
Although, if the visibility of your modal is tied to a data property, I don't know why you can't just change the data property directly with both buttons.
If you want to do something when another thing happens, try to use something called event bus. I solve a lot of problems implementing that.
Here is an example:
https://alligator.io/vuejs/global-event-bus/
Btw: If your problem is that the other component has not been created at the render moment, you can solve it calling a function on the #click event, then when you click it, you are going to call the function that is going to be called when everything in the DOM has been rendered. At least that is the way that I solve that kind of problems.
Vuetify carousel - I cannot find the way to turn off the looping. I do not show images in my vuetify carousel, I use for a few steps for the user -passive steps, more like a description step by step and I don't need the loop in the carousel..
Thanks for help
[EDIT]
For those who are interested I ended up using vue-carousel
There is now a continuous (default=true) prop now.
You can turn it off by setting it like so: :continuous="false"
THe docs of Vuetify do not provide any info of such option.
But...
Since you do not use it as carousel but as stepper, why don't you use stepper..?
https://vuetifyjs.com/en/components/steppers
[EDIT]
Either I was blind yesterday or it just appeared - the docs mention now the cycle prop of carousel: https://vuetifyjs.com/en/components/carousels#api
I think you should give it a try by setting this to false. ;)
