I have problems with instalation of root (cern) in ubuntu 18.04 - cmake

I follow the steps described in this page: https://techforcurious.website/cern-root-installation-ubuntu-18-04-enabling-libraries/ but when i place cmake ../root-6.10.04/ -Dall=ON appears the next error:
CMake Error at cmake/modules/SearchInstalledSoftware.cmake:825 (message):
The Alien plugin requires option 'xrootd' to be enabled. Re-run the
configuration with 'xrootd=ON'
I re-run the configuration with xrootd=ON and appears:
Set environment variable XRDSYS to point to your XROOTD installation
Alternatively, you can also enable the option 'builtin_xrootd' to build XROOTD internally.
Help me please.

Unable to use Intel oneAPI DPCT for migration of my applicaiton: Error Code -5

I'm attempting to follow the instructions from this site https://software.intel.com/content/www/us/en/develop/documentation/get-started-with-intel-dpcpp-compatibility-tool/top.html. I receive an error when I use the dpct command, stating that the path for CUDA header files is incorrect. Now, in order to add the CUDA path, I must first install the CUDA toolkit, which I am unable to accomplish without sudo access and I don't have sudo privilege to my other server. Can someone please help me here.
dpct exited with code: -5 (Error: Path for CUDA header files is invalid or not available. Use --cuda-include-path to specify the correct path to the header files)
You can install CUDA toolkit in your home directory. You may find the instructions on the Nvidia official webpage that home directory installation doesn't require sudo.
Once you have installed the toolkit, use the below command to perform migration for a single source file as below:
dpct --cuda-include-path=/path/to/cuda/include sample.cu

Bazel build behind proxy

I would like to follow tensorflow example to build generate_streaming_test_wav to generate test wav. And my bazel version is 0.16.1.
The problem is when I use command bazel run tensorflow/examples/speech_commands:generate_streaming_test_wav
, the following error message shown up:

However, I can use wget download those two packages.

I think my network should be fine. I have no idea why it can't download those files.
Any idea or suggestions would be very appreciated!
If you know your proxy server, you should be able to set:
export HTTPS_PROXY=http://me:mypassword#myproxyserver.domain.com:myport
export HTTP_PROXY=http://me:mypassword#myproxyserver.domain.com:myport
and run the bazel build again.
If you don't know the proxy server used by wget check /etc/wgetrc or ~/.wgetrc
I've seen conflicting statements about HTTPS_PROXY and HTTP_PROXY being uppercase and lowercase, so you might try setting both. (Some have used unset to remove the lowercase settings. See: https://github.com/bazelbuild/bazel/issues/587#issuecomment-412531604)
create a folder say 'dist'.
Now whatever URL bazel is not able to download .
do wget inside that folder. ( wget normally works with most of proxy)
then run
'bazel build ...... --distdir dist'
it will take packages from dist and compilation will do start.
This might be a bug in Bazel's repository rules. If you'd be so kind to file a bug, that'd be great!
As a workaround, extract the downloaded archive somewhere and replace the io_bazel_rules_closure rule in the WORKSPACE file with a local_repository rule pointing to the directory where you extracted the archive.

jackrabbit - There is an error in invoking javac. A full JDK (not just JRE) is required

I'm learning Jackrabbit and following the documentation to run a standalone server. When I run the command java -jar jackrabbit-standalone-2.16.2.jar and access localhost:8080 on my browser, I get a 500 error saying:
org.apache.jasper.JasperException: PWC6345: There is an error in invoking javac. A full JDK (not just JRE) is required
What am I doing wrong?
Note: I have set my jdk/bin path in my environment variables. Also, my javac command is working properly. I've jdk version 1.8.0_74 and Jackrabbit version 2.16.2
Edit: According to this answer, I tried setting my jdk to my installed jres in eclipse but that didn't solve my problem.
Running the latest jackarabit standalone jar(2.17.3) in my machine(windows 10 and java home pointing in java8 jdk) produced the same errors.
I then executed the rar with java -Djava.home="%JAVA_HOME%" -jar jackrabbit-standalone-2.17.3.jar. Although I got the same error in browser I was able to see errors in the console where I invoked the running command.
One of these error was
can't open C:\Progra~1\Java\jdk1.8.0_144\lib\tzmappings.
Searching my java installation I found that the missing files, are located under jre's installation folder.
So I eventually made the standalone jar to work with:
java -Djava.home="%JAVA_HOME%\jre" -jar jackrabbit-standalone-2.17.3.jar
The initial error is a bit misleading as it refers to javac and not to the missing files.
The whole thing seems to be a bug for me. Please give a try to my workaround and if it works for you consider filing a bug in Jackrabbit's issue tracker platform.
jackrabbit-standalone uses JSP. JSP needs compilation. Compilation needs JDK.
Before running java -jar jackrabbit-standalone-2.16.2.jar do you check your JAVA_HOME, and make sure it refers to a fully-fledged JDK? In short, the bin directory should have javac.
I found that there was another variable in the Path environment System variable preceding my %JAVA_HOME%\bin variable.
You don't have to delete the other variable, but move it down (or move %JAVA_HOME\bin up) to correct the load order.

How to get missing modules in Ocaml?

[Solved (at bottom). installed quartz and re-installed with x11 via brew then restarted machine.]
I'm learning Ocaml and am going through these documentations pages and need to install some modules (graphics).
I'm missing a Graphics module in Ocaml. After trying to load it on toplevel (the REPL right?) with:
$ ocaml
OCaml version blahblah
# #load "graphics.cma";;
# open Graphics;;
I get the error message:
Cannot find file graphics.cma.
So I wander over to this question and after not finding the file with the command:
ls `ocamlc -where`/graphics*`
I read that this means that:
Graphics is not installed and you have to reinstall OCaml compiler
enabling Graphics.
Does this mean I have to recompile Ocaml every time I need a new module? I'm not sure what he meant by that.
Then, I tried to install Graphics with: opam install graphics.
I got this error:
This package relies on external (system) dependencies that may be missing. `opam depext lablgl.1.05' may help you find the correct installation for your system.
So I did opam depext lablgl.1.05
After this, I tried opam install graphics again, but it failed with this error:
#=== ERROR while installing graphics.1.0 ======================================#

This error says Cannot find file graphics.cma which brings me back to this question and what the steps are to get graphics.cma (and other modules as I might need them).
I though opam was a package manager for ocaml (this install modules right?)
EDIT:
I did brew info ocaml and I did install with x11 so I though this meant I should have it...

EDIT 2:
Running
brew install Caskroom/cask/xquartz
brew reinstall ocaml --with-x11
Allowed me to compile, but running gave me this fatal exception. Seems to be an X11 thing?
Fatal error: exception Graphics.Graphic_failure("Cannot open display ")
Solved
So I think the two steps that were necessary were to make sure ocaml was installed with X11. Note that `brew info ocaml` seemed to give wrong information (said it was installed with X11 but reinstall was necessary). On OSX, I also needed to install quarts.
brew install Caskroom/cask/xquartz
brew reinstall ocaml --with-x11
After this I COULD compile, but got an error on execution. This was simply solved by restarting which I read was necessary after installation of xquartz.
After that I could run fine.
The graphics module is an optional part of the base OCaml install, not an external module. This explains why you can't install it using OPAM. The OPAM module that you show is only testing whether it is installed in the current OCaml system. It can't (and hence doesn't try to) install graphics as a separate module.
For this reason, installing graphics (when it's not already installed) is unusually tricky. There's no need to recompile OCaml for installing most (if not all) other modules.
For what it's worth, I am running macOS 10.12.4, and I used "opam switch" to switch my OCaml system to the 4.03.0 release. In the resulting environment, the Graphics module is installed, and I have no trouble running the examples at the website you mention. (For the first, I see concentric red and yellow circles, for example.)
You might try doing "opam switch" to switch to a recent version of the compiler, and see if this gets things going for you. In the past I have had trouble getting Graphics to work, but it is working great for me now.

Cannot auto configure pydev in eclipse

I have installed PyDev successfully, I have python 3.4.0 installed successfully and the folder containing python.exe is in my path and I can run it from the command line.
However, when I go to window\preferences\pydev\interpreters\python interpreter and select 'quick auto-config' to configure it using normal python I get an error saying 'auto configurator could not find a valid interpreter... Note the system environment variables used for Jython are PATH and PYTHONHOME.'
Unless this is a bug in the text I am not selecting Jython (I get a different error if I select IronPython, btw, so this is not a generic error message).
The trace is as follows:
Errors getting info on discovered interpreter(s).
See error log for details.
java.lang.RuntimeException: java.io.IOException: Cannot run program "python": CreateProcess error=2, The system cannot find the file specified
As I say, python.exe is in my path.
You have to install the actual python package separately from here https://www.python.org/download
Close LiClipse/Eclipse => Download Python Here: https://www.python.org/download
=> reopen LiClipse => Auto Config for the interpreter Will WORK!
I found the answer, but I'll leave this up in case anyone else gets it. It's a pretty stupid auto config option if you ask me ;)
In the higher level window\preferences\pydev\interpreters\ preference you need to untick jython and ironpython.
No idea why given I selected the Python sub-preference specifically.
