Hello All,
I am trying since a day to get the error text field in email field in screen shot below, but I am not able to get this.
I have already tried the following :
1. actual_textInputError = driver.findElementByXPath("//android.widget.LinearLayout//android.widget.RelativeLayout//android.widget.RelativeLayout//android.widget.LinearLayout//android.widget.FrameLayout//android.widget.LinearLayout//android.widget.FrameLayout//android.widget.TextView").getText();
2. List<MobileElement> elements = driver.findElements(By.id("textinput_error"));
for (MobileElement element : elements) {
actual_textInputError = element.getText();
3. actual_textInputError = email_Field.findElementByClassName("android.widget.TextView").getText();
// List <MobileElement> rel_Layouts = driver.findElementsByXPath("*//android.widget.RelativeLayout");
4. MobileElement layout = (MobileElement)driver.findElementByXPath("//android.widget.RelativeLayout[contains(#resource-id, 'emailInput')]");
List <MobileElement> errors = driver.findElementsById("textinput_error");
actual_textInputError = errors.get(0).getText();
actual_textInputError = errors.get(1).getText();
actual_textInputError = errors.get(2).getText();
// MobileElement email_error_field = layout.findElementByXPath("//android.widget.RelativeLayout[contains(#resource-id, 'textinput_error'");
// actual_textInputError = email_error_field.getText();
/* for (int i = 0; i<errors.size();i++ ) {
actual_textInputError = errors.get(0).getText();
}*/
/* for (MobileElement rel_Layout : rel_Layouts) {
actual_textInputError = element.getText();
System.out.println("error text = " + actual_textInputError);
}*/
// actual_textInputError = driver.findElementsByXPath("//android.widget.RelativeLayout//android.widget.TextView").get(0);
// errorMessage_Text
//actual_textInputError = errorMessage_Text.getText();
is possible that some one send me the Xpath to search.
many Thanks in advance

Kindly use the below XPath.
//android.widget.TextView[#text='E-mail address is already in use']

How to read canvas element attribute value using selenium?

I want to read canvas element value ("Answer:5015") but attribute value does not exist. Can you please let me know how to read attribute value ?
App URL : https://the-internet.herokuapp.com/challenging_dom#edit
This code works, using Java and Edge browser:
System.setProperty("webdriver.edge.driver", "msedgedriver.exe");
WebDriver driver = new EdgeDriver();
driver.get("https://the-internet.herokuapp.com/challenging_dom#edit");
String answer = new String();
ArrayList<WebElement>scripts = new ArrayList<WebElement>((ArrayList<WebElement>) driver.findElements(By.tagName("script")));
for(int i = 0; i < scripts.size(); i++) {
String focusText = scripts.get(i).getAttribute("innerHTML");
if(focusText.contains("canvas.strokeText")) {
answer = focusText.substring(focusText.indexOf("Answer"), focusText.indexOf("',"));
break;
}
}
System.out.println(answer);

How do I make ABCPdf to automatically write to a new page when text requires more than 1 page?

I deal with dynamic input text, so the pages should be dynamically created. If page 1 is already full, it should write to a new page, so it means I can have page 2, page 3 and so on depending on the data processed.
Currently, my text is truncated. Only writes Page 1, the rest of data are not written.
My current code below:
//add page 1
theDoc.Page = theDoc.AddPage();
theDoc.AddImageHtml(html, true, 826, true);
//continue adding page if needed
while (theDoc.GetInfo(theID, "Truncated") == "1")
{
theDoc.Page = theDoc.AddPage();
theDoc.AddImageHtml(html, true, 826, true);
}
//save file
String pdfFilePath = WebConfigurationManager.AppSettings["pdfFilePath"];
Guid fileName = Guid.NewGuid();
pdfLink = pdfFilePath + fileName.ToString() + ".pdf";
theDoc.Save(pdfLink);
theDoc.Clear();
variable html contains all the data(webpage), I'm probably missing something in my while loop. Any help is appreciated! Thanks
Found it, Use Chainable and then Flatten()
theDoc.Page = theDoc.AddPage();
int theID;
theID = theDoc.AddImageUrl("http://www.yahoo.com/");
while (true) {
theDoc.FrameRect(); // add a black border
if (!theDoc.Chainable(theID))
break;
theDoc.Page = theDoc.AddPage();
theID = theDoc.AddImageToChain(theID);
}
for (int i = 1; i <= theDoc.PageCount; i++) {
theDoc.PageNumber = i;
theDoc.Flatten();
}

How can I read Variables from data pool with Selenium IDE?

I am using Selenium IDE to test a web based HR/SW system.
There is a screen that used to enter vacation for employees.
I am having nearly 3000 employee.
I built a test case that enter vacations for one employee using variables.
How can I repeat the test case for all 3000 employees without creating the test case 3000 times. It will take an impossible effort to do that. Note: Each employee is having different vacation data (Type, start date, End date)
Is there any way that I can use a file (Excel,....) that variable can use to read its data from?
Is there any solution for my case???
I will be very very grateful I any one could help me.
Thank you.
You could use an XML file as an input.
1) At first you have to add following user extensions:
sideflow.js - (http://51elliot.blogspot.com/2008/02/selenium-ide-goto.html - additionally this article explains how to add user extension files)
datadriven.js
include.js
At the moment I can't find links where I took the last two, therefore I will give their code in the end of my post. Code is taken from my working directory. You just put the code to correspondent files, then add files to SelemiunIDE user extension and use them.
2) Create an XML file test_data.xml:
<testdata>
<test employee="1" type="1" startDate="01.01.2013" endDate="01.02.2013" />
<test employee="2" type="1" startDate="01.02.2013" endDate="01.03.2013" />
<test employee="3" type="1" startDate="01.03.2013" endDate="01.04.2013" />
...
</testdata>
3) In your test case use code like this:
${DataPath} - full path to a directory with XML-files
<!--BEGIN LOOP-->
<tr>
<td>loadTestData</td>
<td>file://${DataDir}/test_data.xml</td>
<td></td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>while</td>
<td>!testdata.EOF()</td>
<td></td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>nextTestData</td>
<td></td>
<td></td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>echo</td>
<td>employee=${employee} type=${type} ...</td>
<td></td>
</tr>
...
<!--END LOOP-->
<tr>
<td>endWhile</td>
<td></td>
<td></td>
</tr>
Used user extensions:
include.js

Current solution is a SelBlocks component which allows you to do cycles according to the dataset in XML
ForXML | XMLFileName.XML
... test case steps
EndForXML
The XML should have specific structure
<testdata>
<vars storedVariable1="xxxxx" storedVariable2="yyyyy" .. storedVariableN="zzzzz" />
.. other record(s)
</testdata>
Each stored variable vill be available in test case as ${storedVariableN}.
You can produce XML by MS Excel or LibreOffice using Formulas like this one and copy it to whole table:
="<vars "&
" "&$A$1&"="""&A2&""" "&
" "&$B$1&"="""&B2&""" "&
..
" "&$X$1&"="""&X2&""" "&
"/>")
XML can be easily copypasted after each change of the dataset.
Selblocks contains the while, datadriven, goto, loop and other extensions mentioned in previous answers. You can use other functionalities of the Selblocks as conditional jumps, conditions, catch-try blocks, functions, etc. See full reference here: http://refactoror.wikia.com/wiki/Selblocks_Reference
Beware with new Selenium 3 release and Sel Core absence it is not guaranteed, that tests with Selblock addon will work in the future versions of the firefox.
You can also check this very nice blog article:
http://seleniumworks.blogspot.com/2014/01/selenium-ide-data-driven.html
This gives an explanation on how to use the needed plugins and where to download them from. It worked perfectly for me.
This answer pretty much has the same approach as the one provided by #Yevgen Ulyanenkov as I used his answer in order to find the above article. But has some more googling to it that hopefully will be helpful to someone.
I think you need to use loop I don't see your code so just check this one for selenium-ide loop If you have any more problem if so comment my answer. I can't comment into your question because reputation is not enough so. If possible please add your code into your question.

jmeter testcases which can handle captcha?

We are trying to build a jmeter testcase which does the following:
login to a system
obtain some information and check whether correct.
Where we are facing issues is because there is a captcha while logging into the system. What we had planned to do was to download the captcha link and display, and wait for user to type in the value. Once done, everything goes as usual.
We couldnt find any plugin that can do the same? Other than writing our own plugin, is there any option here?
I was able to solve it myself. The solution is as follows:
Create a JSR223 PostProcessor (using Groovy)
more practical CAPTCHA example with JSESSIONID handling and proxy setting
using image.flush() to prevent stale CAPTCHA image in dialog box
JSR223 Parameters for proxy connection setting:
Parameters: proxy 10.0.0.1 8080
In it, the following code displays the captcha and waits for user input
import java.awt.Image;
import java.awt.Toolkit;
import javax.swing.Icon;
import javax.swing.JOptionPane;
import org.apache.jmeter.threads.JMeterContextService;

Image image = Toolkit.getDefaultToolkit().getImage(destFile);
image.flush(); // release the prior cache of Captcha image
Icon icon = new javax.swing.ImageIcon(image);
JOptionPane pane = new JOptionPane("Enter Captcha", 0, 0, null);
String captcha = pane.showInputDialog(null, "Captcha", "Captcha", 0, icon, null, null);
captcha = captcha.trim();
captcha = captcha.replaceAll("\r\n", "");
log.info(captcha);
vars.put("captcha", captcha);
myGetContent.disconnect();
By vars.put method we can use the captcha variable in any way we want. Thank you everyone who tried to help.
Since CAPTHA used to detect non-humans, JMeter will always fail it.
You have to make a workaround in your software: either disable captcha requesting or print somewhere on page correct captcha. Of course, only for JMeter tests.
Dirty workaround? Print the captcha value in alt image for the tests. And then you can retrieve the value and go on.

How to get output of a webpage in ActionScript 2

For Actionscript 2.0
Let's say this page
www.example.com/mypage
returns some html that I want to parse in Actionscript.
How do i call this page from Actionscript while getting back the response in a string variable?
use LoadVars():
var lv = new LoadVars();
//if you want to pass some variables, then:
lv.var1 = "BUTTON";
lv.var2 = "1";
lv.sendAndLoad("http://www.example.com/mypage.html", lv, "POST");
lv.onLoad = loadedDotNetVars;
function loadedDotNetVars(success)
{
if(success)
{
// operation was a success
trace(lv.varnameGotFromPage)
}
else
{
// operation failed
}
}
//if you dont want to send data, just get from it, then use just lv.Load(...) instead of sendAndLoad(...)
I understand. Use this code then:
docXML = new XML(msg);
XMLDrop = docXML.childNodes;
XMLSubDrop = XMLDrop[0].childNodes;
_root.rem_x = (parseInt(XMLSubDrop[0].firstChild));
_root.rem_y = (parseInt(XMLSubDrop[1].firstChild));
_root.rem_name = (XMLSubDrop[2].firstChild);
var htmlFetcher:LoadVars = new LoadVars();
htmlFetcher.onData = function(thedata) {
trace(thedata); //thedata is the html code
};
Use:
htmlFetcher.load("http://www.example.com/mypage");
to call.
I suppose you could use:
page = getURL("www.example.com/mypage.html");
And it would load the page contents on the page variable.
