Dependency Injection (for HttpFetch) at setRoot in main.js Aurelia - aurelia

I am having trouble getting dependency injection working for my AuthorizerService. Obviously, dep-inj is not ready until after Aurelia "starts", but I wasn't sure how to access it.
main.js:

Now the problem is that if I do "new AuthorizerService()" then "this.http.fetch()" is not available in AuthorizerService.js.
Am I meant to pass "http.c()" (which delivers the HttpClient instance) as a parameter inside:
checkCookieAndPingServer(http.c())
or is there another way?
Can I delete "new AuthorizerService()" and just do (I made this up):
aurelia.container.getInstance(AuthorizerService);
Somehow FORCE it to do dependency-injection and retrieve the "registered Instance" of "http.c()"?
I can't just check cookie. I have to ping server for security and the server will set the cookie.
I think this is all sorts of wrong, because I need a global parameter that just is false by default, then it does the query to backend server and setsRoot accordingly. Perhaps only query backend in the "login page"? Okay but then I would need to do "setRoot(backtoApp); aurelia.AlsoSetLoggedIn(true);" inside login module. But when I setRoot(backtoApp) then it just starts all over again.
In other words, when setRoot(login); then setRoot(backToApp); <-- then AuthorizerService instance doesn't have its proper data set (such as loggedIn=true).

"this.auth" is no longer static. No longer "static auth = { isAuthenticated: false }" which was some example code I had found.
So now "auth" gets set inside "login" module. But this means the "login" module is displayed every single time the app loads briefly, before being redirected back to "setRoot(backToApp)"

If the class you want to get the instance is purely based on service classes and has no dependencies on some Aurelia plugins, it doesn't need to wait until Aurelia has started to safely invoke the container.
For your example:
aurelia.container.getInstance(AuthorizerService);
It can be
aurelia.container.get(AuthorizerService);
And you should not use new AuthorizerService(), as you have noticed in your question.

Reevaluate Nuxt.js middleware without a route change

I'm wondering if it's possible to essentially "reevaluate" the middleware conditions without actually changing the current route.
The middleware's purpose is to prevent non-logged-in users from accessing the "dashboard".
My issue is, a user could become logged in or logged out without necessarily changing route but they wouldn't be redirected until they try and change pages.
I have a VueX action that triggers when the user's auth state changes but this (from what I can see), can't access the redirect or route variables.

You cannot re-evaluate a middleware AFAIK because it's mainly this (as stated in the documentation)
middlewares will be called [...] on the client-side when navigating to further routes
2 clean ways you can still achieve this IMO:
use some websockets, either with socket.io or something similar like Apollo Subscriptions, to have your UI taking into account the new changes
export your middleware logic to some kind of call, that you could trigger again by calling the $fetch hook again or any other data-related fetching hook in Nuxt
Some more ugly solutions would probably be:
making an internal setInterval and check if the actual state is still valid every 5s or so
move to the same page you are actually on with something like this.$router.go(0) as somehow explained in the Vue router documentation
Still, most of the cases I don't think that this one may be a big issue if the user is logged out, because he will just be redirected once he tries something.
As if the user becomes logged-in, I'm not even sure on which case this one can happen if he is not doing something pro-active on your SPA.
I don't know if it's relevant or not, but I solved a similar problem this way:
I have a global middleware to check the auth status. It's a function that receives Context as a parameter.
I have a plugin that injects itself into context (e.g. $middleware).
The middleware function is imported here.
In this plugin I define a method that calls this middleware passing the context (since the Plugin has Context as parameter as well): ctx.$middleware.triggerMiddleware = () => middleware(ctx);
Now the middleware triggers on every route change as intended, but I can also call this.$middleware.triggerMiddleware() everywhere I want.

Running Nuxt middleware client side after static rendering

We're switching from SPA to statically generated, and are running into a problem with middleware.
Basically, when Nuxt is statically rendered, middleware is run on the build server first, and then is run after each page navigation client side. The important point is that middleware is not run client side on first page load. This is discussed here
We work around this for some use cases by creating a plugin that uses the same code, since plugins are run on the first client load.
However, this pattern doesn't work well for this use case. The following is an example of the middleware that we want to use:

This example is taken directly from the Nuxt docs.
When rendered statically, this middleware is not called on first page load, so a user might end up hitting their dashboard before they've logged in, which causes problems.
To add this to a plugin, the only way I can think to do this is by adding a list of authenticated_routes, which the plugin could compare to and see if the user needs to be authed.
The problem with that solution though is that we'd then need to maintain a relatively complex list of authed pages, and it's made worse by having dynamic routes, which you'd need to match a regex to.
So my question is: How can we run our authenticated middleware, which is page specific, without needing to maintain some list of routes that need to be authenticated? Is there a way to actually get the middleware associated to a route inside a plugin?
To me it is not clear how to solve it the right way. We are just using the static site generation approach. We are not able to run a nuxt middleware for the moment. If we detect further issues with the following approach we have to switch.
One challenge is to login the user on hot reload for protected and unprotected routes. As well as checking the login state when the user switches the tabs. Maybe session has expired while he was on another tab.
We are using two plugins for that. Please, let me know what you think.

How to use Nuxt $auth inside an axios plugin (How to add Token to all axios requests)

Im looking to use $auth inside my Nuxt project, specially inside an axios plugin.
Here is my code:

Now the problem comes when I try to use $auth from #nuxtjs/auth-next package.
As stated in the docs:
This module globally injects $auth instance, meaning that you can
access it anywhere using this.$auth. For plugins, asyncData, fetch,
nuxtServerInit and Middleware, you can access it from context.$auth.
I tried the following:

Okay, now I made a test. and the next code is actually logging the $auth object correctly, it seems some time is needed to make it work but now Im afraid that using setTimeout could cause an error because I can't know exactly how much time is needed for $auth to be available.

So now I have made more tests, and using 0 milliseconds instead of 50 works too, so I will use setTimeout with 0 milliseconds for now, I hope anyone find a better solution or explain why $auth is not available before using setTimeout so I can decide what to do with my code.

After trying to wrap all my previous code inside setTimeout I noticed that the code fails, so that isn't a solution.
I have found a solution so I will post it so that every person that could have the same problem in the future can solve it.
It turns out that I could easily solve it using interceptors.

Aurelia store connectTo never sets target property

I set the aurelia-store up as per the docs; in the main.ts at the bottom of all the plugins (from the skeleton app with dotnet core) I have as the last plugin defined:

In the login class I am trying to use the #connectTo decorator. However it never sets the dependency property. So I am stuck on this simple part at the very start of the app and my work already suggested not to use Aurelia but I said I wanted to for fast POC.
I've copied the docs exactly and still have the issue. Notably, I had to turn off strictNullCheck in the tsconfig to make the doc code parse.

I expect the this.state property to have a state object populated from the global state store with the initialState values.

I just need to set the userToken in login and retrieve it in app.js. This is not possible; what could be missing to make this basic function actually work?
ConnectTo is a helper decorator to avoid manual state subscriptions since the Stream of states is a vanilla rxjs observable. If you take a closer look at the official plugin documentation you will notice that it sets up the subscription in a different lifecycle hook.
That said connectTo cant solve everything and with manual subscription you have the most flexibility.
Dont give up with your quest you just had bad luck of falling into a more complicated scenario of startup timing right at the begin which easy enough might bite you with lots of other Frameworks/Libraries as well. Also make sure to visit the official discourse.aurelia.io forum and post back solutions to SO.

Session Data with Durandal

I am just getting started with Durandal.js so excuse me for the silly quesstion...
When a user makes it's first request to the app it is asked to choose a 'profile kind', and I need it to be accessible to every other view model in the web site, I first though of creating this property in the shell viewmodel, but don't how to do it.
How is the best way to store data in a Session like mode in a Durandal SPA?

Create an amd module for what data you need to store.
Then just require that module as a dependency for whatever other modules that need it.
Sort of like this:

AMD modules are there to not pollute the global namespace of the window object. But if you would rather not require your session as a dependency and just access it through a global variable then that is perfectly fine.
you can declare it in your shell.js if you would like and do something like:

This information will not be persisted between page refreshes.. its only in-memory.
If your looking to persist the session data I would not look into persisting any information on the client unless you planned on making your app an off-line application.
An offline application is an app that works even w/out internet access. But if your app requires that the user is always connected to the internet then I would just store the session data on the server. So, just use web services to persist the session data and retrieve it.
You can tie the session on the server to the client by using a cookie.
As an alternative to Evan's answer, which is definitively the correct AMD approach... have you considered using a global object for that purpose?

That will allow you to access the global myApp object everywhere. I know that some people will consider that as global namespace pollution and in general a bad practice, but in a SPA project (where you control window) I'd consider this still a viable approach.
