Most elegant way to change 0 to 1 and vice versa
(6 answers)
Closed 3 years ago.
I'm making a Tic-Tac-Toe application for Android, and I'm looking to toggle between 2 players (0 - 1) when taking turns. 0 will be for the first player; 1 for the second.
The easiest way to achieve this is by doing:
if (currentPlayer == 1) {
currentPlayer = 0
} else {
currentPlayer = 1
}
But are there any more efficient ways to go about it with Kotlin? Thanks in advance
This is not Kotlin specific, it's just simple:
currentPlayer = 1 - currentPlayer

Perform .join on value in array of objects

skills = [
{skill_id: 1, skill_name: “IT”},
{skill_id: 2, skill_name: “cooking”}
]
Desired output:
IT, Cooking
I have tried to use merge() to merge the two objects. However, I cannot seem to get the desired output.
You can use map() to transform array values like
const values = skills.map(skill => skill.skill_name);

X = df_census.iloc[:,:-1]
y = df_census.iloc[:,-1]
what is the meaning of [:,:-1] in this and also [:,-1]
Following your example: [:,:-1]
The first argument is : which means to get all rows of the dataframe, and :-1 means to return all columns but the last one
In the case of just -1, it means to get the last column

Hi how can you generate a random int between 0 and 10 in kotlin ? I tried Random().nextInt() and val rnds = (0..10).random() but i can't generate one. Thanks
To generate random number you can do as follow:
val randomNumber: Int = Random().nextInt(10) // here you can set your own bound value. This will give you random number from 0 to 10

Quickest way to convert a base 10 number to any base in .NET?
(12 answers)
Closed 9 years ago.
I am looking for a way to take a value from a text box and convert it into a base 2 number with 8 digits.So if they type in a text box 2 it would respond 00000010. or if they typed 255 11111111. etc... is there any way to do this.
Dim prVal As Integer
prVal = PrefixTxt.Text
Use the Convert.ToString method and specify the base as 2. This will convert an Integer value into a String in the specified base
Dim result = Convert.ToString(Integer.Parse(prVal), 2)
As #Dan pointed out if you want to force this to be width 8 use the PadLeft method
result = result.PadLeft(8, "0"c)
Convert.ToString(Integer.Parse(prVal), 2).PadLeft(8, '0')

Comparing NSNumbers in Objective C
(5 answers)
Closed 9 years ago.
So, in my previous question (check out this > If-else: NSString) I've known how to check two strings. But now my task is compare two numbers.
isEqualToNumber isn't I need. For example: if the first number has a value 13, the second value has a value 20. How to compare these numbers?
Thank you everyone. Which method do I should use?
My code:
NSNumber *foo1 = #13;
NSNumber *foo2 = #14;
I need to compare them:
if ( foo1 < foo2) {
//some actions
}
if ([foo1 compare:foo2] == NSOrderedAscending) { ... some actions ... }
