overriding actions for botium webdriverio connector - testing

edit: change topic to overriding basic functons on botium-webdriverio-connector
How to trigger button click ?
from this link:
https://github.com/codeforequity-at/botium-core/wiki/Botium-Scripting
it says that you just need to put
#me
BUTTON btnTitle
but what actually happened is that it sends literal BUTTON btnTitle as text to the bot
for context, i implemented a custom WEBDRIVERIO_GETBOTMESSAGE and send back this
{
"sender": "bot",
"buttons": [
{
"text": "reply1"
},
{
"text": "reply2"
}
],
"cards": [],
"media": []
}

i decided to override the WEBDRIVERIO_SENDTOBOT function.
running on botium-cli 0.0.44, probably there are better solutions on newer versions.
edit: add more details, source code & implementation
in the end, i override these functions WEBDRIVERIO_OPENBOT WEBDRIVERIO_SENDTOBOT WEBDRIVERIO_GETBOTMESSAGE and also add a custom asserter to assert gallery messages

this setup works for botium-cli version 0.0.44
tried to update to botium 0.0.45 but got some error on selenium driver

Triggering button clicks is part of Botium Core 1.4.8. For button clicks the result of WEBDRIVERIO_GETBOTMESSAGE is not considered, Botium just looks for button titles (source code with default selenium selector is here.
The described behaviour, that the literal text is sent to the bot, is most likely due to an older version of Botium Core. Please check the version you are using. If you are using version 1.4.8, please enable logging and extend your question with the log output.

How to change button property when starting a vuex-electron app?

I am working on a vuex-electron application.
There are several buttons on the main page, when clicked, a file is stored in a specific folder, and at the same time, the property of the button turns to [saved], when this [saved] button is clicked again, a message pops up, asking whether to overwrite or not the old file.
But the problem is : when the app is restarted, all of the buttons' property is initialized to [not saved], so, even though the same file has already been stored, when button is clicked, the old file is overwritten without any pop-ups asking whether to overwrite the existing file or not.
I want to change the feature as below:
when the app is restarted, check file existence first, then based on the result, change button property to [saved].
Is this possible?
If possible, where should I add the logic in.
I am a complete beginner on vue.js.
Have been looking up for a while, but did not find any useful information.
From the following thread, learned that state data is stored in a json file, does this mean I need to change the state? Currently, button properties are not saved in this json file.
Where is the state of a Electron-Vue application stored?
//code
v-for="(btn,i) in buttons" :key="i" #click="save(btn)"
computed: {
buttons() {
let r = this.$store.state.App.aData.filter(x=> {
if (this.aType==='abc') {

} else {

}

let y = this.$copy(x)
y.saved = this.savedData.includes(x.index)
y.disabled = this.appState !== 'def'
return y
})
let index = this.aType==='abc'?998:999
r.push({
index,
a_name:'others',
e_number:this.aType==='abc'?'N':'999',
disabled: this.appState !== 'def',
saved: this.savedData.includes(index),

},
},
methods:{

I have event duplication after action was moved in store object

In my laravel 5.8 / vue 2.5.17 / vuex^3.1.0 I have a problem that with dialog opened I have event duplication.
I have an event for item deletion :
In my vue file:
...
mounted() {
bus.$on('dialog_confirmed', (paramsArray) => {
if (paramsArray.key == this.deleteFromUserListsKey(paramsArray.user_list_id)) {
this.runDeleteFromUserLists(paramsArray.user_list_id, paramsArray.index);
}
})
bus.$on('onUserListDeleteSuccess', (response) => {
this.is_page_updating = false
this.showPopupMessage("User lists", 'User\'s list was successfully deleted!', 'success');
})
bus.$on('onUserListDeleteFailure', (error) => {
this.$setLaravelValidationErrorsFromResponse(error.message);
this.is_page_updating = false
this.showRunTimeError(error, this);
this.showPopupMessage("User lists", 'Error adding user\'s list !', 'error');
})
}, // mounted() {
methods: {
confirmDeleteUserList(user_list_id, user_list_title, index) {
this.confirmMsg("Do you want to exclude '" + user_list_title + "' user list ?", {
key: this.deleteFromUserListsKey(user_list_id), user_list_id: user_list_id, index: index
}, 'Confirm', bus);
}, //confirmDeleteUserList(id, user_list_title, index) {
deleteFromUserListsKey(user_list_id) {
return 'user_list__remove_' + user_list_id;
},
runDeleteFromUserLists(user_list_id, index) {
this.$store.dispatch('userListDelete', { logged_user_id : this.currentLoggedUser.id, user_list_id : user_list_id } );
}, // runDeleteFromUserLists() {
and in resources/js/store.js :
state : {
...
userLists: [],
...
actions : {
userListDelete(context, paramsArray ) {
axios({
method: ( 'delete' ),
url: this.getters.apiUrl + '/personal/user-lists/' + paramsArray.user_list_id,
}).then((response) => {
let L = this.getters.userLists.length
for (var I = 0; I < L; I++) {
if (response.data.id == this.getters.userLists[I].id) {
this.getters.userLists.splice(this.getters.userLists.indexOf(this.getters.userLists[I]), 1)
context.commit('refreshUserLists', this.getters.userLists);
break;
}
}
bus.$emit( 'onUserListDeleteSuccess', response );
}).catch((error) => {
bus.$emit('onUserListDeleteFailure', error);
});
}, // userListDelete(context, paramsArray ) {
confirmMsg (based on https://github.com/euvl/vue-js-modal )is defined in my mixing :
confirmMsg: function (question, paramsArray, title, bus) {
this.$modal.show('dialog', {
title: title,
text: question,
buttons: [
{
title: 'Yes',
default: true, // Will be triggered by default if 'Enter' pressed.
handler: () => {
bus.$emit('dialog_confirmed', paramsArray);
this.$modal.hide('dialog')
}
},
{
title: '', // Button title
handler: () => {
} // Button click handler
},
{
title: 'Cancel'
}
]
})
},
it worked ok, until I moved userListDelete method from my vue file into store.js.
As a result on 1st event item is deleted ok, the the second item raise error that item was not found and I do not know event is doubled...
How to fix it ?
UPDATED BLOCK :
I still search for valid decision :
I uploaded live demo at :
http://178.128.145.48/login
demo#demo.com wdemo
http://178.128.145.48/websites-blogs will be opened.
Please, try to go to “User's lists” by link at top left menu https://prnt.sc/nq4qiy
and back several times. When on “User's lists” page I try to delete 1 user list it is deleted, but I got several messages
and url in “network” section of my browser : https://imgur.com/a/4ubFB0g
Looks like events are duplicated. And looks like that is move between pages number of guplications is raised.
Why and how to fix it ?
I use #click.prevent in triggering the event to show confirm delete message.
There is “ Add Demo Data” to add more demo rows.
Thanks!
Well, it is quite obvious.
Take a closer look at the Vue component lifecycle diagram.
Your component is mounted each time you enter a route.
So, bus.$on inside your mounted block executed each time you enter this route.
I suggest you move bus event handlers to some other location. For example app.js/ App.vue mounted hook or directly into the store. Since all you do inside handler is calling store actions.

How to trigger change event on slate.js when testing with Selenium or Cypress

I'm trying to find a way to simulate a "change" event when doing E2E testing (with selenium or cypress) and slate.js
In our UI, when the user clicks on a word, we pop-up a modal (related to that word). I've been unable to make this happen as I can't get the change event to trigger
The Cypress input commands (e.g. cy.type() and cy.clear()) work by dispatching input and change events - in the case of cy.type(), one per character. This mimics the behavior of a real browser as a user types on their keyboard and is enough to trigger the behavior of most application JavaScript.
However, Slate relies almost exclusively on the beforeinput event (see here https://docs.slatejs.org/concepts/xx-migrating#beforeinput) which is a new browser technology and an event which the Cypress input commands don’t simulate. Hopefully the Cypress team will update their input commands to dispatch the beforeinput event, but until they do I’ve created a couple of simple custom commands which will trigger Slate’s input event listeners and make it respond.
// commands.js
Cypress.Commands.add('getEditor', (selector) => {
return cy.get(selector)
.click();
});
Cypress.Commands.add('typeInSlate', { prevSubject: true }, (subject, text) => {
return cy.wrap(subject)
.then(subject => {
subject[0].dispatchEvent(new InputEvent('beforeinput', { inputType: 'insertText', data: text }));
return subject;
})
});
Cypress.Commands.add('clearInSlate', { prevSubject: true }, (subject) => {
return cy.wrap(subject)
.then(subject => {
subject[0].dispatchEvent(new InputEvent('beforeinput', { inputType: 'deleteHardLineBackward' }))
return subject;
})
});
// slateEditor.spec.js
cy.getEditor('[data-testid=slateEditor1] [contenteditable]')
.typeInSlate('Some input text ');
cy.getEditor('[data-testid=slateEditor2] [contenteditable]')
.clearInSlate()
.typeInSlate('http://httpbin.org/status/409');
If you need to support other inputTypes, all of the inputTypes supported by Slate are listed in the source code for editable.tsx
Found a solution:
1) Add a ref to the Editor
<Editor
ref={this.editor}
/>
2) Add a document listener for a custom event
componentDidMount() {
document.addEventListener("Test_SelectWord", this.onTestSelectWord)
}
componentWillUnmount() {
document.removeEventListener("Test_SelectWord", this.onTestSelectWord)
}
3) Create a handler that creates a custom select event
onTestSelectWord(val: any) {
let slateEditor = val.detail.parentElement.parentElement.parentElement.parentElement
// Events are special, can't use spread or Object.keys
let selectEvent: any = {}
for (let key in val) {
if (key === 'currentTarget') {
selectEvent['currentTarget'] = slateEditor
}
else if (key === 'type') {
selectEvent['type'] = "select"
}
else {
selectEvent[key] = val[key]
}
}
// Make selection
let selection = window.getSelection();
let range = document.createRange();
range.selectNodeContents(val.detail);
selection.removeAllRanges();
selection.addRange(range)
// Fire select event
this.editor.current.onEvent("onSelect", selectEvent)
}
4) User the following in your test code:
arr = Array.from(document.querySelectorAll(".cl-token-node"))
text = arr.filter(element => element.children[0].innerText === "*WORD_YOU_ARE_SELECTING*")[0].children[0].children[0]
var event = new CustomEvent("Test_SelectWord", {detail: text})
document.dispatchEvent(event, text)
Cypress can explicitly trigger events: https://docs.cypress.io/api/commands/trigger.html#Syntax
This may work for you:
cy.get(#element).trigger("change")

Shopify Slate - prevent go to cart page on add to cart

I'm building a theme with Slate and I have been researching how to prevent the default function of going to the cart page after you click add to cart on a product page.
All the answers I have gotten thus far have lead to dead ends. I also tried to load Cart.js onto the theme and it didn't let me because there's some liquid code mixed in with the initialize script.
Really looking for help to prevent a theme built with Slate from automatically going to the cart page once you click add to cart. Thanks!
The redirect is probably based on a form submission, so you just need to use jQuery's preventDefault method when the form is submitted.
$('form[action^="/cart/add"]').on('submit', function(evt) {
evt.preventDefault();
//add custom cart code here
});
Found a solution using Ajaxify cart (https://help.shopify.com/themes/customization/products/add-to-cart/stay-on-product-page-when-items-added-to-cart)
To get this to work with Slate, you need to follow the instructions and make a few changes once they are all followed. Here's what I did.
I had to take all the jQuery in the script tags and place it in a new file under scripts > vendor > vendor.js
/**

$addToCartBtn.prop('disabled', false);
_setText($addToCartBtn, _config.soldOutBtnLabel);
$addToCartBtn.prop('disabled',true);
}
else {
_showFeedback('error', '<i class="fa fa-warning"></i> ' + response, $addToCartForm);

$.extend(_config, params);
// Action
$(function() {

});
},
getConfig: function() {
return _config;
}
}
})(jQuery);
Shopify.AjaxifyCart.init();
Next I made sure that this file was being called to the main vendor.js file using this code in scripts > vendor.js
/*!
* ajaxify-cart.js
*/
// =require vendor/ajaxify-cart.js
Last thing I had to do was edit out the liquid markup that was in the ajaxify-cart.js file. Since it is a .js file the liquid markup was making it malfunction. Here's the lines where I replaced liquid markup:
if (newCurrency) {
$(_config.cartTotalSelector).html('<span class=money>' + Shopify.formatMoney(Currency.convert(cart.total_price, "CAD", newCurrency), Currency.money_format[newCurrency]) + '</span>');
}
else {
$(_config.cartTotalSelector).html(Shopify.formatMoney(cart.total_price));
}
}
else {
$(_config.cartTotalSelector).html(Shopify.formatMoney(cart.total_price));
}
It's a bit hacky but so far it is working with my slate theme.
I'm open to suggestions for improvement. Thanks.

BB Cascade- How to change a variable of an attached object?

so I'm new to the world of BB developement, QML, and C++ so please bear with me as I try to explain my issue.
I'm in the process of making an application that will seach for people from some far away API that returns an XML file that I will then parse and show the information in a list.
So in the first page I have two textfields that take in first name and last name. I also have a button that goes to the results page and is supposed to also send along the URL for contacting the API. Here's the code for the first page:
import bb.cascades 1.0

And here's the code for the second page:
import bb.cascades 1.0
import bb.data 1.0
Page {
property string theUrl
property alias dataSource: dataSource
content: ListView {
id: myListView
// Associate the list view with the data model that's defined in the
// attachedObjects list
dataModel: dataModel
listItemComponents: [
ListItemComponent {
type: "item"
// Use a standard list item to display the data in the data
// model
StandardListItem {
imageSpaceReserved: false
title: ListItemData.FIRST + " " + ListItemData.LAST
description: ListItemData.JOB
status: ListItemData.PHONE
}
}
]
onTriggered: {
var selectedItem = dataModel.data(indexPath);
// Do something with the item that was tapped
}
}
attachedObjects: [
GroupDataModel {
id: dataModel
grouping: ItemGrouping.None
},
DataSource {
id: dataSource
// Load the XML data from a remote data source, specifying that the
// "item" data items should be loaded
source: theUrl
query: some query
type: DataSourceType.Xml
onDataLoaded: {
// After the data is loaded, clear any existing items in the data
// model and populate it with the new data
dataModel.clear();
if (data[0] == undefined) {
dataModel.insert(data);
} else {
dataModel.insertList(data);
}
}
}
]
onCreationCompleted: {
// When the top-level Page is created, direct the data source to start
// loading data
dataSource.load();
}
}
As you can see in the first page, I try attaching the source for the data source object in two different ways: by pushing it directly to the global string theURL and by pushing it directly to the source variable of the datasource object but both ways don't seem to be working. What am I doing wrong? This is driving me crazy as I haven't been able to figure it out yet it seems like such an easy answer.
EDIT: Okay this is seriously so unintuitive! So I was able to fix it by simply adding theUrl: "link to url" under the "pushed" object in the main page and for the second page on the top adding "property string theUrl: gibberish". But now that I'm trying to make it so that the url is different depending on the user input, it just doesn't work.
So here's the current code I have so far:
import bb.cascades 1.0
NavigationPane {
id: nav
property string firstName: ""
property string lastName: ""
property string jobTitle: ""
property string test: url1
Page {
content: Container {
TextField {
id: firstNameField
hintText: "First Name"
inputMode: TextFieldInputMode.Text
input {
flags: TextInputFlag.PredictionOff | TextInputFlag.AutoCorrectionOff
}
validator: Validator {
id: firstNameValidator
mode: ValidationMode.Immediate
errorMessage: "You must enter at least three characters."
onValidate: {
if (firstNameField.text.length >= 3 || firstNameField.text.length == 0) {
state = ValidationState.Valid;
firstName = firstNameField.text;
} else {
state = ValidationState.Invalid;
}
}
}
}
TextField {
id: lastNameField
hintText: "Last Name"
inputMode: TextAreaInputMode.Text
input {
flags: TextInputFlag.PredictionOff | TextInputFlag.AutoCorrectionOff
onSubmitted: {
if (firstNameValidator.state == ValidationState.Valid
&& lastNameValidator.state == ValidationState.Valid) {
theButton.text = "Valid enter!"
} else {
theButton.text = "Invalid enter!!!!"
}
}
}
validator: Validator {
id: lastNameValidator
mode: ValidationMode.Immediate
errorMessage: "You must enter at least three characters."
onValidate: {
if (lastNameField.text.length >= 3 || lastNameField.text.length == 0) {
state = ValidationState.Valid;
lastName = lastNameField.text;
} else {
state = ValidationState.Invalid;
}
}
}
}
Button {
id: theButton
text: "Search"
onClicked: {
if (firstNameValidator.state == ValidationState.Valid
&& lastNameValidator.state == ValidationState.Valid) {
//text = "Valid button press!"
pushed.theUrl = url2
text = pushed.theUrl;
nav.push(pushed)
} else {
text = "Invalid button press!!!"
}
}
}
}
}
attachedObjects: [
AdvancedResult {
id: pushed
theUrl: test
}
]
}
So I'm currently using two different urls for testing: url1 and url2. url1 is set to test and test is set to theUrl under pushed. That works fine but when i add the line pushed.theUrl = url2; the page still returns the result for url1. So what I did is add the line text = pushed.theUrl; for testing purposes where "text" is the text shown on the button and when I run the app, even though it doesn't return to me a page, "text" is in fact set to url2 meaning that pushed.theUrl is url2. This has all been very unintuitive and not an enjoyable experience at all so far. What I'm trying to do here (get the input from a textfield, add it to a link and send it off to another page) would have taken me an hour at most on Android to code.
