I want to rewrite my main domain to a path and if no query is appended then to a different path. I have a wildcard C name in place to support subdomains.
www.xxx.com => works normally
abc.xxx.com => point to a folder
abc.xxx.com/abc-xyz => point to www.xxx.com and should work normally
This is what i have right now :
<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
Options +FollowSymlinks
RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^([w]{3,3}[.]{1,1}){0,1}example.com$
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^([0-9a-zA-Z-]*)[.]example.com$
RewriteRule ^$ portfolio/index.php?pageDetailId=%1 [NC,L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php?/$1 [L]
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^([w]{3,3}[.]{1,1}){0,1}example.com$
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^([0-9a-zA-Z-]*)[.]example.com$
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ $1?pageDetailId=%1 [QSA,L]
</IfModule>
As we can see, i need that abc as variable in abc.example.com/abc-xyz. Please reply with doubts with any, i tried many ways its not working. This same htaccess works on 1 domain smoothly but when i created a new domain its not working on that. Thanks.
NOTE: It works on httpd but not on apache2
Have it like this:
Options +FollowSymlinks
RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{ENV:REDIRECT_STATUS} ^$
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^(?!www\.)([\w-]+)\.example\.com$ [NC]
RewriteRule ^(index\.php)?$ portfolio/index.php?pageDetailId=%1 [NC,L,QSA]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} -f [OR]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} -d
RewriteRule ^ - [L]
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^(?!www\.)([\w-]+)\.example\.com$ [NC]
RewriteRule ^(.+)$ index.php?pageDetailId=%1&/$1 [L,QSA]
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php?/$1 [L,QSA]
Is there a way I should be writing multiple re-write conditions for my domain? I want the I.P to forward to the domain name and all domain name variations forwarded to https. The domain can be found at https://www.getrideshare.com. I've included the snippet below in the .htaccess file.
<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^107\.180\.51\.9
RewriteRule (.*) https://getrideshare.com/$1 [R=301,L]
RewriteCond %{HTTPS} off
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ https://%{HTTP_HOST}%{REQUEST_URI} [L,R=301]
RewriteBase /
RewriteRule ^index\.php$ - [L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule . /index.php [L]
</IfModule>
# END WordPress
You can do your rule this way.
<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^107\.180\.51\.9 [OR]
RewriteCond %{HTTPS} off
RewriteRule (.*) https://getrideshare.com/$1 [R=301,L]
RewriteRule ^index\.php$ - [L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule . /index.php [L]
</IfModule>
Let me know how it works out.
I have domains mydomain.co and mydomain.com
In mydomain.co I want to install YOURLS.
It is working very well, but I want to create such redirect.
example.org -> R301 -> example.com
example.org/* -> /yourls-loader.php
I have something like this, but it is not working :(
<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^(www.)?example.org
RewriteRule ^$ http://example.com [L,R=301]
#RewriteBase /
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule ^.*$ /yourls-loader.php [L]
</IfModule>
How should .htaccess file look for my configuration?
Finally, I've got it working.
<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
RewriteEngine on
RewriteBase /
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^(www.)?example.org [NC]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} ^/(.+)$
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/admin
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ /yourls-loader.php [L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/admin
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://example.com [R=301,L]
</IfModule>
you can simply use:
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^example\.org$ [NC]
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://example.com/$1 [R=301,L]
and everything that has a subdomain gets redirected to the one without. the rest stays the same.
I have searched for this question for many days and tried so many different methods but nothing works so far. I am using the Question2Answer script and I want to redirect all the HTTP requests to HTTPS.
My URL structure is set to :
/123/why-do-birds-sing (requires htaccess file)
and the htaccess file is as follow:
DirectoryIndex index.php
<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} ^(.*)//(.*)$
RewriteRule . %1/%2 [R=301,L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule ^.*$ index.php?qa-rewrite=$0&%{QUERY_STRING} [L]
RewriteCond %{HTTP:CF-Visitor} '"scheme":"http"'
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ https://example.com/$1 [L,R=301]
</IfModule>
This correctly redirects http://example.com to https://example.com. However, if the user enters an address like this : www.example.com/users they are redirected to https://example.com/index.php?qa-rewrite=users which returns a 404 error.
The index.php?qa-rewrite= is added automatically and removing it from the htaccess totally messes up everything and I think it should be there.
This is because you need all of your redirect rules before any of the routing rules (the ones without the R flag), so:
DirectoryIndex index.php
<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} ^(.*)//(.*)$
RewriteRule . %1/%2 [R=301,L]
RewriteCond %{HTTP:CF-Visitor} '"scheme":"http"'
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ https://example.com/$1 [L,R=301]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule ^.*$ index.php?qa-rewrite=$0&%{QUERY_STRING} [L]
</IfModule>
I use this:
DirectoryIndex index.php
<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} ^(.*)//(.*)$
RewriteRule . %1/%2 [R=301,L]
RewriteCond %{HTTPS} off
RewriteCond %{HTTP:X-Forwarded-SSL} !on
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^example\.com$ [OR]
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www\.example\.com$
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ "https\:\/\/example\.com\/$1" [R=301,L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule ^.*$ index.php?qa-rewrite=$0&%{QUERY_STRING} [L]
</IfModule>
If you don't like to redirect www, you can remove the line
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www\.example\.com$ and the [OR] above
I am trying to point www.olddomain.com/whatever to www.newdomain.com/whatever (as well as without the www.), but the Wordpress permalinks are not staying intact. Please help!!
<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule . /index.php [L]
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^olddomain.com [nc]
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.newdomain.com/$1 [r=301,nc]
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www.olddomain.com [nc]
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.newdomain.com/$1 [r=301,nc]
</IfModule>
I fixed it:
<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^olddomain.com [nc]
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.newdomain.com/$1 [r=301,nc,L]
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www.olddomain.com [nc]
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.newdomain.com/$1 [r=301,nc,L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule . /index.php [L]
</IfModule>
A much simpler solution. Change the .htaccess to just say:
RedirectMatch 301 /(.*) http://www.newdomain.com/$1
You will need to move this block:
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule . /index.php [L]
behind the redirects. It grabs everything and sends it to index.php.
