Strange linkers and them not working with intellisense - vba

All the docs about how to reference a form inside of a navigation form kept giving me odd code. VBA code using [ ] and !. I finally understand that the following code:
[Forms]![NavigationForm]![NavigationSubform].Form![cboCnty1]
was what I needed to resolve my issue. What I don't understand is why. It's so alien from everything else VBA that I know. It doesn't work with Intellisense either, which just made the journey to the right answer look like I was going the wrong way.
Why isn't it something more like:
Forms(NavigationForm).Controls("NavigationSubform").Controls("cboCnty1")
Ok, bad example, I know. But
Me.cboCnty1
would work find if the code wasn't in a module. I'm simply looking for greater understanding.

Renderer stops working when inserting specific code into function! three.js

I would like to start off by mentioning that I am very new to coding, so some things that might seem very simple to someone with intermediate experience will probably not click quite as fast with me.
Okay so with the code I am writing, I am trying to get a three.js cube object to move to the places I click, using tweening. I managed to get this to work, but when I try to create a frame using three.js lines, the code stops working. In detail: when I add
line = new THREE.Line( lineGeometry, new THREE.LineBasicMaterial() );
scene.addObject( line );
to the Init() function. What is cause of this? My guess is it has something to do with global/local variables but even if that were correct I have no idea how to fix it !
This is the jsfiddle for reference

get rid of “cannot find Symbol” error in intelliJ

Before everything was fine but since some time i get "cannot find Symbol” when i try to compile.
The errors are on my own classes.
If i jump to source and then click the error icon i get this:
But the constructor already exists.
I have no idea of how to get rid of it. I did a lot of searching but none of the solutions like clean worked.
My project is under VCS which i don't really understand (how to set up etc). So maybe it has to do something with that. I only don't know how to get rid of it. Can someone help?
edit:
Here is the zip of the project folder and one folder that includes a library that is used.
I try to compile with build artifacts.
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/17630770/temp/doekeLibsArchive.zip
I hope someone can give it a try. I would love to continue on this project.
The problem is coming from the fact you have two BezierVertex classes,
a public one nl.doekewartena.path.BezierVertex
and a nested one nl.doekewartena.path.BezierVertexPath.BezierVertex
when you are inside BezierVertexPath, intellij is right nl.doekewartena.path.BezierVertexPath.BezierVertex does not have the constructor shown on your screenshot, it is nl.doekewartena.path.BezierVertex which has it, so you should use the fully qualified name of that class.
Am I missing something ?

"No appropriate method" error generated when calling new function using class-defined object

I defined a class called "FilterCriteria" which has a bunch of function .m files (getAMask, getBMask, etc.) associated with it. When I create the FilterCriteria object and call the functions using it, I don't have any problems. However, recently I added another function (which, on a side note, is almost identical to another function that still works), and Matlab returns the error, "No appropriate method, property, or field getHMask for class FilterCriteria."
I've searched online for this problem, but I can't find anything. The file getHMask.m is definitely in the correct folder, so I don't understand why Matlab seems to have such a problem finding it.
Here's getHMask.m's header:
function mask = getHMask(object, quadrant, channel)
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
1) A mistake I make sometimes is not saving the file with the correct name. Make sure capital letters are in the right places etc!
2) Another layer of error checking here... You can call methods('object here') (see here) and make sure it lists the method (function) that you are trying to add to it. If it doesn't show up here you should check into the implementation of the method and make sure it's correctly being added to the class you're using for your object.
I had the same problem that's kind of suggested by Ben's bullet #2 and it was driving me crazy. Turns out MatLab wasn't loading the latest version of my class's m-file. I vaguely remembered it gave me a warning earlier about that, because there were old instances of the class in the workspace and to keep from invalidating them it said it wouldn't update the class until I cleared the workspace...
So if that's the problem, restarting MatLab will work, or you can just enter >> clear

Objective-C: Trying to use Apple's MultipleDetailView

I am working on trying to make a splitview based application. I am trying to use Apple's MultipleDetailView example code
http://developer.apple.com/library/ios/#samplecode/MultipleDetailViews/Introduction/Intro.html
I have never really used example code like this (I usually just atart from scratch). All i did was copy the code into the correct classes of my app, but when I try to run it on the simulator the app doesn't open.
I feel like I am maybe forgetting something obvious, since I didn't code it myself.
Thanks!
The usual debugging technique applies. Put a breakpoint somewhere early in the program -- the first line of main() for instance, and debug from there. Do you hit the breakpoint? If yes, move forward through the code until you find the line that causes the problem. If no, try to back up even further if you can, and also look for any clues as to what's going wrong. If the app is running at all, there should be some sort of error message in the console output.
"...the app doesn't open" doesn't tell us nearly enough to help you. Something like "the app delegate is instantiated, but it's window and splitViewController properties are nil" goes much further toward getting to the root of the problem.

Problem with QSqlTableModel -- no automatic updates

After setting up a table model in Qt 4.4 like this:
QSqlTableModel *sqlmodel = new QSqlTableModel();
sqlmodel->setTable("Names");
sqlmodel->setEditStrategy(QSqlTableModel::OnFieldChange);
sqlmodel->select();
sqlmodel->removeColumn(0);
tableView->setModel(sqlmodel);
tableView->show();
the content is displayed properly, but editing is not possible, error:
QSqlQuery::value: not positioned on a valid record
I can confirm that the bug exists exactly as you report it, in Qt 4.5.1, AND that the documentation, e.g. here, still gives a wrong example (i.e. one including the removeColumn call).
As a work-around I've tried to write a slot connected to the beforeUpdate signal, with the idea of checking what's wrong with the QSqlRecord that's about to be updated in the DB and possibly fixing it, but I can't get that to work -- any calls to methods of that record parameter are crashing my toy-app with a BusError.
So I've given up on that idea and switched to what's no doubt the right way to do it (visibility should be determined by the view, not by the model, right?-): lose the removeColumn and in lieu of it call tableView->setColumnHidden(0, true) instead. This way the IDs are hidden and everything works.
So I think we can confirm there's a documentation error and open an issue about it in the Qt tracker, so it can be fixed in the next round of docs, right?
It seems that the cause of this was in line
sqlmodel->removeColumn(0);
After commenting it out, everything work perfectly.
Thus, I'll have to find another way not to show ID's in the table ;-)
EDIT
I've said "it seems", because in the example from "Foundations of Qt development" Johan Thelin also removed the first column. So, it would be nice if someone else also tries this and reports results.
I use Qt 4.6.1 in PyQt and the problem is still here. Removing "removeColumn(0)" solves the issue.
