How to check Dinghy logs? - spinnaker

I followed the instructions to install Dinghy on my Spinnaker installation using https://docs.armory.io/spinnaker/install_dinghy. But I don't see my pipelines being updated.
I see the spin-clouddriver showing the webhooks are being received but nothing else.
How do I check the logs for Dinghy so I can troubleshoot this?

I needed to run hal deploy apply and enable the Github service. Then I started seeing updates to my Spinnaker pipelines.

GitLab CI stuck at "Waiting Fargate task to be ready" - but Fargate task is in fact running, but never completes

Having set up GitLab CI and AWS Fargate resources as described in the documentation, we have a situation where the runner can trigger the Fargate task, which goes into RUNNING state, but the master runner never seems to realize this.
Running with gitlab-runner 14.7.0 (98daeee0)
on gitlab-fargate-master DyE5BsVA

Within AWS, the task has created its Log Stream in Cloudwatch, but there are no events in that log. It's unclear what is actually happening.
What can be done to find out?
We have reverted to using a vanilla Docker container from the GitLab documentation registry.gitlab.com/tmaczukin-test-projects/fargate-driver-debian:latest but exactly same happens.
Solved - problem was missing AWS permission ECS:DescribeTasks, which for some reason was not causing an error message in the Runner.
(I had mistakenly added AmazonEC2_FullAccess, not AmazonECS_FullAccess as described in the docs)
Having run a "Generate Policy" in AWS based on CloudTrail Events (awesome new feature!), I can now confirm the permissions actually being used are:
EC2: DescribeNetworkInterfaces.
ECS: StopTask, DescribeTasks, RunTask
Note the EC2 permission, which is missing from the docs.
Not sure if you have solved your problem but I noticed this question as I had the exact same issue yesterday. For me this was caused as my gitlab manager task was using an IAM role which was limited to start and stop tasks but it was apparently missing permissions to check weather a task is in the RUNNING state. So I fixed my ecs execution role and then it started working for me.

Build spinnaker with docker-compose, redirect to localhost

i build spinnaker using docker-compose follow here
but it always redirect to localhost, how can i fix this.
e.g.
http://localhost:8084/auth/redirect?to=http%3A%2F%2F192.168.99.100%3A9000%2F%23%2Finfrastructure
i set the host:0.0.0.0 in spinnaker-local.yml and configured deck apache2 with proxyPreserve=On, it's not working.
where is the configuration about 'redirect'?
All containers running well but fiat gets error mesages, like this:
WARN 1 --- [ecutionAction-1] c.n.s.fiat.roles.UserRolesSyncer : [] User permission sync failed. Server status is DOWN. Trying again in 10000 ms. Cause:(Provider: DefaultServiceAccountProvider) retrofit.RetrofitError: unexpected url: front50/serviceAccounts
i'm sure set fiat false, is this matter?
thanks.
The docker-compose link project is not available anymore. That deployment type is not supported anymore.
The easiest way i suggest for people to get started quick is by using Armory Open source Minnaker. It runs on top of a K3S small cluster and contains a functional spinnaker deployment.
Great way to get started.
I tried the debian local deployment and it failed all the time.
Enjoy your CD operations.

Trying to run Apache Apex's Yahoo Finance example on YARN

I've downloaded Apache Apex 3.5.0 along with Malhar 3.5.0.
I've successfully started the apex client and submitted the Yahoo Finance demo example to our YARN cluster (running CDH 5.10). The cluster is running and configured properly (many Spark and MR jobs are running on it).
I see the application I submitted as RUNNING in YARN as well as in the Apex cli. However when I try to connect to the Application Master I get a 404.
org.apache.hadoop.yarn.webapp.WebAppException: /: controller for default not found
I also tried directly to connect to the appMasterTrackingUrl reported by get-app-info command, and I get the same error.
I tried a couple of apex examples, and I always get the same error.
Any idea why?
It is somewhat expected. Add "/ws/v2/stram/info" to the URL path
When you connect to the App Master you need to provide the complete URL for a REST API to invoke. There is nothing to show/return for "/" so what you are seeing is expected. What are you trying to do connecting to the App Master?

Unable to add apache Nifi in ambari?

I am trying to add Apache Nifi in ambari but continuously failing with error Error occured during stack advisor command invocation:
Unable to delete directory /var/run/ambari-server/stack-recommendations/1.
There is a similar thread with the same error in hortonworks community, I have tried everything mentioned in that thread but unable to fix it. My sandbox is installed in vmware workstation 12 player. I also tried to create and remove directory manually but it is failing with the error invalid argument. Created a thread for this error also on stackexchange. Please help!!!
Here is a link to Hortonworks forum thread. And it seems like sandbox is just broken:
This is due to a docker issue in this 2.5 sandbox build. It will be
fixed in next revision of the sandbox.
There are also some workarounds described (like use older HDP 2.4 or establishing own cluser based on the HDP 2.5 docker image)
Updated sandbox arrived: http://hortonworks.com/downloads
Trust me, active member of community see your posts in multiple locations. In a good, no Big Brother ways :) but cross-posting is an old as world ... Well, you got it.
Did you see a notice for this service in Ambari? Telling it's been deprecated? Same note in the github. There's a good reason for that, it's now been implemented properly by the dev team and with many more features. I.e. all the action is there now.
I think I replied a similar question, though not sure it was yours, take a look in HCC.

Unexpected error: CLIENT_ERROR on Openshift

Following the guide at https://www.openshift.com/developers/download-cartridges i wanted to try installing the CDK to see what it brings to the table. Unfortunately, I was unable to install the cartridge because of the following error:
Unexpected error: CLIENT_ERROR: Download of 'http://cdk-claytondev.rhcloud.com/archive/2ccd7a3a7762e4ebb873c0d64a247b180e0600b8/cdk.zip' exceeded Content-Length of 9728. Download aborted.
Execute rhc create-app cdk http://cdk-claytondev.rhcloud.com/manifest/2ccd7a3a7762e4ebb873c0d64a247b180e0600b8 against a local installation of OpenShift Origin. Or try to create an App throught the web console (again on a local installation, both are untested on rhcloud).
Looks like this was an issue on OpenShift Online also, which got fixed, but is still an issue on OpenShift Origin. Here is the bugzilla ticket for this issue (https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1017776), I suggest you add your email address to it to be notified as they make progress against fixing it.
