I am trying to call the output of SQL query to variables as below:

monthly_report = dwh_cur.fetchall()
The output of this file is as below:
store_name,month,count
store_a,jan,100
store_a,feb,200
store_a,mar,230
I am trying to pass months to a variable (var1) and count to another variable (var2)
Could anyone advice how could I define this accordingly. Thanks

In the process of converting some SAS code to PySpark and we previously used a macro variable for the where statement in this code. In adapting to PySpark, I'm trying to pass a list of dates to the where statement, but I keep getting errors. I want the SQL code to pull all data from those 3 months. Any pointers?

Pass the list as a tuple to have the right sql syntax:
month_list = ['202107', '202108', '202109']
sql_query = """ (SELECT *
FROM Table_Blah
WHERE (to_char(DateVariable,'yyyymm') IN {})
) as table1""".format(tuple(month_list))
And you don’t need apostrophe for in statement
Say I have a class variable restemail which stores the email id I need to use to sort out from the select statement in SQLite (Python). Whenever I refer to that variable after my WHERE clause, SQLite treats it as a column and returns an error saying that such a column doesn't exist. Something like this:
restemail=StringVar()
Password=StringVar()
def database(self):
conn = sqlite3.connect('data.db')
with conn:
cursor=conn.cursor()
strrest = self.restemail
cursor.execute('SELECT * FROM Restaurant3 WHERE restemail = strrest')
Can someone tell me how to use a variable inside my SQL queries without it being treated as a column name?

Try the sqlite3 variable substitution syntax:
cursor.execute('SELECT * FROM Restaurant3 WHERE restemail = ?', (strrest,))
I created two string variables (tot and tot_value) and assigned a value (tot = MyVal) for testing. Then I created an Execute SQL Task which takes (tot) as parameter and the value returned is saved in tot_value.
In the General Tab, i set:
ResultSet to Single row. SQL Source Type to Direct input Query is listed below.
In Parameter Mapping I selected my tot variable with Input DirectionSQL_VARCHAR Data Type 1 as Parameter Name (Since i am using ODBC)Size set to default -1.
In Result SetResult Name to 1Variable Name to tot_value.
If in the query I hard code 'MyVal' i get the correct result, however when I use ? to use my variable as a parameter, I always get a 0 returned.
Note that my tot variable is set to MyVal
Any clue of what I might be missing? Thanks in advance

I'm trying to retrieve some data from a postgresql database using psycogp2, and either exclude a variable number of rows or exclude none.
The code I have so far is:

This does partially work. E.g. If I call:
db_query('593')
It works. The same for any other single value. However, I cannot seem to get it to work when I enter more than one variable, eg:
db_query('593, 595')
I get the error:
psycopg2.DataError: invalid input syntax for integer: "593, 595"
I'm not sure how to enter the query correctly or amend the SQL query. Any help appreciated.

Pass a tuple as it is adapted to a record:
query = """
select *
from database.table
where id not in %s

How do I bind a variable to a SQL set for an IN query in Perl DBI?
Example:

The result for the code as above results in only the count for TYPE1, while the required output is the sum of the count for TYPE1 and TYPE2. Replacing the bind entry with a reference to #nature (\#nature), results in 0 results.
The main use-case for this is to allow a user to check multiple options using something like a checkbox group and it is to return all the results. A work-around is to construct a string to insert into the query - it works, however it needs a whole lot of filtering to avoid SQL injection issues and it is ugly...
In my case, the database is Oracle, ideally I want a generic solution that isn't affected by the database.
There should be as many ? placeholders as there is elements in #nature, ie. in (?,?,..)
