Use my own default picture on roboter Peppers tablet - robot

I am using Aldebaran-Softbanks Pepper robot. Per default it's tablet shows an animtion with colored dots.
I want to change that to my own png-picture.
I still have a project/package with a "Show Image" behaviour which displays my picture without problems. I installed this package to the robot and set the autostart flag.
While starting Pepper the picture is shown for some seconds and then it disapears because of the deffault-start-pepper-behaviour which shows a softbank logo, an animated cloud of colored dots and fancy things like that.
My current workaround is to add a "Wait" box between the start-event and the "ShowImage" box. The wait is 22 seconds.
There is a similar looking question but the topic doesn't really fit.

Create empty application. Make a folder named 'html' and place your image inside it.
Add this setup to your robots database either here or via SSH
Restart the robot

Programmatically signal LXDE desktop manager to hide its start panel?

I'm working on a RaspberryPi with a 3.5 inch LCD screen. I have a Qt 5 based application that operates in kiosk mode without a title bar. The app uses the entire 320x480 screen. I want to hide the LXDE start panel to reclaim the pixels for my app.
I found several posts that detail configuration changes for LXDE to hide the start panel. For example, here and here. They provide answers like edit /etc/xdg/lxsession/LXDE-pi/autostart and restart.
I'm trying to do the same programmatically. LXDE has a Wiki but I don't see an API to dynamically configure it.
My first question is, how do tell LXDE to hide its start panel? I'd like the start menu go away, or ensure my app is layered on top of the start panel. I would like to do something like this:
MainForm::MainForm(QDialog *parent)
: QDialog(parent)
{
ui.setupUi(this);
LXDE* lxde = getDesktopManager();
lxde->hideDesktopPanel();
}
If it is not possible to do at runtime, then my next question is, can I run the RPI with only X11? In this case I can remove the desktop manager because I don't need it. Qt can talk to X11 the window manager directly.
PCManFM and friends are pretty much useless on the 3.5 screen, so I don't really care if the solution is to remove the desktop manager.
A workaround is to use showFullScreen() that makes the GUI occupy the entire window.

IntelliJ doesn't display... at all

I have a bug which is completely over the planet. IntellIJ doesn't display. It's on, yet doesn't display.
It worked well before, last thing I did was re-setting up new dependencies on my code and (nothing to do with that) re-setting SDK for other reasons, both of which shouldn't be linked to display properties.
As you can see it's working, I see the pop up windows:
But doesn't display:
Yet I can see IntelliJ windows with Shift + Tab:
and yes, my screen doesn't duplicate, so it's not hidden in another dimension or something
I tried:
restart computer
uninstall install IntelliJ
uninstall install IntelliJ without previous parameters
try other JetBrains software, like DataGrip, it works and displays well
call a homeopathic doctor
Unsuccessfully. So I knee and await before your judgement of this critical situation.
I have this exact same behavior happen to me when I use IntelliJ at work and then go home and try to use it via Remote Desktop. Its very strange (regardless of which monitor I leave it on at work when I leave).
If I hover over it in the task bar and then hover over the thumbnail for the running app, I can right click and tell it to maximize and it magically comes back into focus. Sometimes I have to tell it to restore and then to maximize before this works.
Occasionally even this doesn't work and I have to close it, re-open, and do the same. It makes no sense, so I understand your frustration.
It works
As John Humphreys - w00te mentionned, click right over the thumbnail (I insist: the thumbnail ! Not the taskbar icon) and then select maximize and voilà.
Bon appétit.
Thanks for your contribution and I hope it will help some people in need here.
I have had this issue when I have moved from a dual monitor setup to a single monitor setup or a different dual monitor set up. The issue here that intellij window seems to save and use the coordinates of the last dual window setup to render the window. It doesn't matter you restart your computer, it will always try and render to that position, even if that position is not visible on the new monitor set up. On windows there is an easy way to fix this issue. Go to your display setting and flip the order of the windows. The intellij window should now be visible. you can drag the window to the your other monitor and re-arrange the windows back to the order you had previously. After that, you can place the intellij window wherever you want.
In my case I noticed there is a 1 pixel thick gray line on my screen, turns out that was the IDEA window and I could resize upon hovering that line. Needless to say it wasn't me shrinking it.
I have this same behavior, It happens to me when I connect a monitor in extended mode and move the intellij window to the monitor, then disconnect without moving it back. No other solution other than to connect to monitor again and bring it back to the original window for me works.
On mac, select the app from the app tray so that the menu for it appears up top. Then on the menu up top, go to Windows->Zoom and it should expand to fill the viewport.
From there you can drag it down to size and reposition.

App modeller, Identify button not showing up in blueprism spying

I am creating calculator VBO in blueprism object studio.
In application modeller I gave calc.exe path and able to launch calculator, but I am not getting identify option to spy on any element..
In Element, After clicking Launch buttion, identify is appearing for a split of sec and Launch button is coming back instead of Identify
PS- As mentioned in videos and links, I have launched calc via application modeller not directly via windows..
I am using windows 10, BluePrism V.5.0.11.0 versionenter image description here
Windows 10 calculator is complicated case, please consider using different application in your training. For example paint is much simpler to get started.
If you really need to get that going, then you may need to launch application first, using one object, and afterwards use second object to attach and interact with it.
can be two reasons
1. Either your application is not launched properly.
2. Sometimes we face problems with some versions of applications.
The best way to fix your problem is
Edit your settings remove the application path from the navigate stage.
Launch the application separately
Open Navigate stage > Action > Attach
Provide the window title within quotes (example: "Calculator")
Click OK then run the object
Now if you go to application modeller
You will be able to see the identify button under the element.
Hope this will help you.
I resolved this by unchecking "Disable invasive techniques (hooking)".
The Windows 10 calculator runs with process name win32calc which is also located under c:\windows\system32.
So when you launch the application please make you identify the applications process name and its location
I resolved this by circumventing to windows 7 calculator instead of a windows 10 calculator on windows 10.
Link to download win 7 calculator for win 10-
https://winaero.com/download.php?view.1795
This will be installed in the same place as your default calculator.
Inside-
C:\Windows\System32
The name of the app in my case was "calc1.exe" to avoid collisions with the default calculator.
I used this as my base reference app for spying and it worked.
Also note, the hover to highlight button seems to be a bit buggy, try a bit hit and trail to get you required button to be highlighted and mark using "Ctrl+LeftClick"

Sikuli click is not effect

I'm using SikulixIDE 1.1.0 to write a script playing Yugioh game (run on Windows 10 x64).
See the main screen:
I start the game manually and then run the script as below:
switchApp("Yu-Gi-Oh! PC")
click("1477213591920.png")
My expectation is that the link named "DUEL MODE" is clicked to go to the next screen. The cursor always moves to that link, but sometimes it works, sometimes does not.
I check the log and see that Sikuli has sent click command but for some reason, the game not accept it. This is the log:
[log] App.focus: [8020:Yu-Gi-Oh!]
[log] CLICK on L(687,488)#S(0)[0,0 1366x768]
I've already tried:
doubleClick instead of click
sleep a few seconds
hover and click
But all do not work, neither.
I would expect that some of the things you have tried will help but if that's not the case you will need to identify whether the button was actually triggered or not. To do that you have to capture the next screen or any part of it that uniquely identifies it. Then you will use it a loop with a predefined number of attempts and some wait time between them and click more than once if the click didn't work. So generally something like that (pseudo code):
attempts = 3
for attempt in attempts:
click(button)
if (nextScreen is available):
break
sleep(time)
I know it's been a while but I ran into a similar problem recently.
The image was found but the click didn't work.
I'm also working on Windows 10 x86_64.
The solution was simply to execute the program as administrator.
Don't know why but now it's working..
I also had to use the double click instead of simple click for some patterns.
In adition to Eugene S Answers, if you are using SikuliX, you can try to Run in Slow Motion. Also, if the image have some effects (like brightness), you can try to use Pattern inside of exists():
if exists(Pattern("DualMode.png").similar(0.6), time_in_seconds):
click(Pattern("DualMode.png").similar(0.6))
By default, the similar() value is 0.8, so if the image have some effect and for example, the color change every second, you can set a lower value between 0 and 1.
PS: Don't forget to put the pattern inside if exists and click, because if you don't put inside of click(), could throw an Image not found error message.

Screenshot of a virtual terminal when it is not focused (in the background)

This is on Ubuntu. I have two xsessions, one on tty7 (display :0) and one on tty8 (display :1). For the record, :0 is Unity and :1 is Fluxbox. I would like to be able to take a screenshot on display :1 while working on display :0.
I'm using the Java Robot class. I've written a small screen scraping bot. The mouse movements work when I'm switched to the other virtual terminal, but the screengrabs are coming out all black (the bot has no image to act on).
I'm spawning the second xsession with:
startx /usr/bin/fluxbox -- :1
Is there a way to make the screenshots work? Is there a workaround for keeping the display active (remote desktop to it?)? Would someone be kind enough to explain why these go black when the virtual terminal is not focused?
I'm looking for the least intensive way to have a second display, mouse, and keyboard running. The path of least resistance would be a way to keep the display active when not focused.
Thanks! Sorry if any of my terminology is off, new to using a second virtual terminal.
You get a black image simply because the image you want to capture does not exist anywhere.
When a virtual terminal is active, each program that is on your display will generate its own image, and the image gets put into the video memory. When the virtual terminal is not active, the programs do not generate their image (since it would be superfluous), nothing stores those images, so you cannot capture them.
